Usually come here just cuz it's close but just went in for a pedicure and no chip manicure and wow will never go back. I think it's the girl who only does basic manis and pedis. My feet were a little dry obviously its winter but she pulled out one of those hard buffers and scraped the back of my ankle. Like seriously you have to be careful!! And she clipped my toe cuticle too much and it scabbed. But besides that the polish itself sucked. I paint my own but thought let me treat myself for once. Usually you pay someone to do a better job not worse!! And the no chip .. she didnt even cover my whole nail in some spots and my nails were jagged. I had the pleasure of having the new young gentleman perform my pedicure. Not only was he incredibly sweet, he was very gentle and polite as well. He carried on a pleasant conversation with me during the entire process. At previous nail salons I have been to in the past, the conversations were always carried out among the staff themselves, and in another language, which some people consider to be rude. I'd give this salon ZERO stars if I could!!! The WORST SALON IVE EVER BEEN TOO!! I went in despite all the negative reviews because my friend had came here and said they were ok.. I came in to give it a try and the guy who did my pedicure did 2 coats and it was spotty the Hispanic lady who did my acrylic nails made them all uneven!!! & didn't go down all the way looks like they need a fill in already & just got them done today! & she had the worst attitude & when I asked her to fix a crooked nail for the third time she got mad and said no!!? 0.o So back to my pedicure, I wanted a color change on my pedicure because the polish was nasty & the owner & one of her employees thought it was cute to talk bad about me because of it! Telling other customers I can go do it myself! & the owner told me... "U want color change then u need to wait that's your fault!!!" That was ridiculous! So unprofessional so rude!!! To make it worse a customer sitting next to me got her socks soaked because they didn't clean the floors by the pedicure station, & 2 other girls came in to get their nails fixed from previous days as well! This place is a joke!! Still blows my mind! & I payed more because they raise their prices on the weekends!!?!! Ridiculous!! I will NEVERRRR come back here again & warn any new comers!!! If I could give this place no stars I would! I have gone to this place for a total of 5 times and I will never step foot in there again. When you're in the customer business, the first thing you should know is how to be polite and welcoming to your customers. This place treats "regulars" like they are family, but treats new comers as if they are a bother. I came once in a Friday night and waited 45 minutes, once it was my turn... I was seated and one person would start taking care of me and then leave to take care of some else and I would be moved to another station. This happened about 3 times and finally I said I wasn't moving anymore. The younger lady that sits in the front seat is very rude and the way she talks to ppl is ridiculous. I asked her what color was that on a picture and she told me with a nasty attitude that the name was on the picture. Smh. When I get my nails done sometimes, I don't have time to get a pedicure and a fill in. So I get a fill in and a polish change on my toes. The second to last time I went the older lady did a terrible job on my polish change on my toes.. I mean it looked like my 9 year old did them. I asked her if she could fix a toe that she messed up and she rolled her eyes. The last time I went there, I requested that she would not do my nails... And I like the guy that does my nails, he does a really good job and he is the only reason I have come back as many times as I have... But I guess he doesn't touch feet. So I once again got the rude old lady.. Now I have pretty decent feet. I take very good care of my feet. In the middle of doing my polish change, this woman tells me she isn't doing my polish change anymore and if I come back go to someone else. I was totally taken back by HOW AND WHAT she said to me. First of all, I asked for someone else! I asked her excuse me and to repeat what she said and she said she wasn't doing my toes anymore and that I need a pedicure. Now..If I need a pedicure, fine.. But there is a certain way how to talk to a paying customer and what is worse, she did another terrible ass job, my toes nails aren't even fully polished. I asked for 3 coats and she refused to do 3 coats. She continued to go back and forth with me EVEN after I said I don't want to talk to her anymore and could she just finish so that I could leave... And she kept going! Like how unprofessional is this?! You offer a service and then u get mad because I didn't get the more expensive service... So you do a bad job on purpose?! Then none of the other staff said anything! No one told her to stop talking.. No one took over for her. No one tried to make the situation better. I ask him to make sure to file off all polish which was only on One finger were i was trying on a color to see how it look. Absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! Worst customer service and they suck at nails! There was 5 of us who came here and we had an appointment at 3:30 only 1 day in the chair at 3:45. We waited an hour to each have something done! Tina did my sisters nails for her engagement party and they were horrible and just disgusting. The father did my cousins nails and they were uneven and just sloppy looking. One of the girls was just sitting there on her phone while I kept asking for the no-chip colors to see. One of the younger girls working there was also just sitting on her phone and when my sister went to see if she can fix her nail she said no she'll have to wait for Tina to fix them. I am LIVID. I have religiously gotten an acrylic fill in with no chip on top for YEARS in my old town of Carol Stream. Now that I have moved, this is the second chance I have given to Star Nails in Midlothian because it is convenient for me in my new neighborhood. I visited this nail salon on 2/20/17 and for the second time here, my no chip is chipping...BUT THIS TIME it lasted 2 days!!! My no chip never chips- twice in my life it has...and both times they were done here. Could it be that my original nail tech tells me to go wash my hands, I come back and a new tech was there to paint my nails? (Didn't even let me know I would have someone else painting them). I understand this happens but what infuriates me is the reaction I just got from the woman on the phone when I called to ask if they can fix my nails. (2/22/17 around 9:30am). She rushed me off the phone saying they only guarantee no chip polishes to last 2-3 days...REALLY? Then tells me "come in tomorrow morning then" when I told her that I was at work right now and couldn't come in this instant...and then she HUNG UP ON ME. I called back and she told me she couldn't give me a refund....THAT IS A STRAIGHT UP LIE. I know how point of sale systems work and they can give me my money back. Now I don't even want them to fix my nails I just want a refund of my $35 (not including the 20% tip I gave my nail tech....who knows who the tip went to since they passed me off to 2 people while I got my nails done). I want my money back. I will remove this review once I get my money back. This is so ridiculous- I am a hard working human who spent $35 on something two days ago that now already needs to be fixed....instead of having good customer service about it, I got a major attitude and hung up on. I hope I get a response from someone more business savy than whoever I spoke to today on the phone. **ALSO: they do not apply the first clear coat that is needed for a no chip polish. I've been going to Star Nails for over 10 years and no other place does my nails better. Lon is amazing and does beautiful designs, she can do any design you want perfectly. Tina does the best pedicures and everyone else is great too. Lexi is a true Star Nails mascot and is the best behaved dog I've ever seen. I have never been dissatisfied and if it was as terrible as some of the reviews I've read then me and a large majority of my friends and family wouldn't be loyal customers for over a decade. read more

I took my 6 year old daughter there for her first pedicure and to get her fingernails painted...only going there because I saw they had that cute pink butterfly chair. I was quite disappointed. The guy who did her pedicure and nails was very rude and just told her "don't move" about 50 times. She's 6 years old and she couldn't really understand what he was saying! I was charged $25. I have been looking for a new nail salon as my regular one is going downhill. I was recommended to Star and saw May. I walked in around 4:15 and it was pretty crowded which is usually a good sign. They got to me pretty quickly (maybe waited 5 minutes). My pedicure was thorough and they use a hot towel with oil after and it felt great. I had a no-chip done and the girl started my manicure while my toes were being painted -- I was totally fine with that. Would rather that then see her sitting there doing nothing. My nails look amazing and she took the time to do a 3rd coat like I asked on my no-chip. I'll definitely be coming back to see May. She was great! read more

They are rude. The work is really bad, the color sloppy. the tip are done so fast they don't use the right size , you can see your nail on the sides ,, they pop off in a matter of a few days , they say gel but it's only the polish that is gel. The only good is a young man they hired that is friendly. They are more worried about doing the dogs nail then the people that pay. I will be going to another place next time! I came in to get a full set of acrylics and was told it was going to be an additional $5 for the length I wanted, I wouldnt mind paying but extra if the nails were long but they were not. The man (the owner) then said that it makes him mad when girls come in wanting long nails but don't want to pay for them I decided to not say anything to his comment.
