    Ronnie Wright Concrete

Ron really took time to explain every aspect of extending our driveway and adding a sidewalk onto the side of our home. This included a thoughtful discussion on water management and drainage. From quote to concrete pour, the job was accomplished in a remarkable four days. There were several changes that we discussed with Ron throughout the course the project. Ron always showed enthusiasm about helping us achieve exactly what we wanted. My husband and I came up with several fitting slogans: 1. He's the Wright man for the job. 2. Ron will take care of your concrete needs the Wright way. 3. He's got the Wright stuff, baby. 4. You can't go wrong with Wright. 5. Concrete issues? Ron will make everything Wright. With fair prices, remarkably quick turn around time, and dependable service, Ronnie Wright Concrete was a joy to work with. We will definitely work with Ron again in the future.

Ronnie has low prices but that's the end of the good news. He took 34 days to do my 18x20 driveway…read moreand a 16x22 slab. I hired him to do my 12x34 patio slab and it went well so I hired him for a bigger project a few days later. Each day he showed up he was asking for another 4, 5, or 6 grand. He was at the 90% mark of the $32K quote and still hadn't done the driveway yet. The dumpster company that he contracted to put the old concrete in called me and said they were putting a lien on my house because he refused to pay them after they'd hounded him. I wonder if he ever paid for the concrete delivery or will I have an additional $4,000 lien to deal with? I told him about the lien and he assured me he was taking care of it. Nope. The dumpster company thinks I'm giving them the run around, still demanding $400 on top of my incomplete job that I now have to pay someone else thousands to finish. In 29 days he was at my house just 7 days and never more than about 5 hours per trip. He removed the driveway and framed it out but then I waited weeks for the concrete. He constantly had 'relatives' with emergencies (some out of town) that required him to vanish for days on end, always right after I gave him another $5K. He's fine for small jobs but don't do anything over 12x30 or you'll be hearing the stories. The dumpster driver sent me a text where he told the dumpster company he was so broke he could only put down 3 to 4 inches of concrete instead of the 6 inches he said he was putting down. He told me several times "they all crack, just get used to it". I should have checked the BBB site for complaints because there were several. All the BBB complaints read the same: incomplete or improper jobs that he refuses to correct or refund. After seeing all the complaints here and elsewhere I doubt I'll get my $6,000 back for the work he didn't do even if I take him to court. Serial scam artist, apparently the concrete guys are not required to be licensed or bonded so there's no recourse to get satisfaction with the county/city/state and they know it. I tipped each member of his crew any time they actually worked more than a couple hours and even bought all 10 of them lunch. Can't believe this guy is still in business, he showed up late the last day when I told him not to come back that someone else was doing the rest of the job and he said "I sure wish you would've told me that before I bought this $200 worth of supplies", as if I had put him in a bad financial way somehow. That showed me he still had no awareness or understanding of how bad the situation was at all. 12 sunny cloud free days in that span without anyone showing up at all, no answer to calls or texts or explanation as to why they didn't show. Buyer beware.

The sales person (John) was very thorough and presented a wide array of options for colors for the project. Do not hire Cal with Innovative Concrete (out of Gulf Breeze)!!! He and his wife, who owns the…read morebusiness were recommended by our General Contractor at the time. We hired Cal to resurface our huge pool deck this past spring. We contracted him for $8,500. The job took him weeks on end to get near completion. He started out strong, then petered out as he was trying to squeeze other jobs in. Before he had done any finish work, he insisted we pay him the rest of his fee so he could "pay his helper." Hubby, trusting him and not thinking there would be any issues with Cal following through on finishing the job and making necessary fixes, wrote him a final check. Once he got the check cashed, Cal started dragging things out and putting us off on coming to fix major issues we discovered after closer inspection. We found the work he and his "helper" did was amateurish, shoddy and sloppy. Even our General Contractor agreed and told Cal he needed to fix the problems because it was such poor workmanship. After many phone messages and texts, and him being a no show, he finally came by, and we pointed out the remediation he needed to do. Again, he promised he'd be back in a few days to fix everything. This went on for another month or so, after more phone calls and messages, he never showed up to make the fixes. Yes, it was stupid to pay him in full before the job was done, but we gave him the benefit of the doubt, unfortunately. He is not trustworthy (or competent) and we don't want anyone else getting ripped off.
