He had great advice and was supportive, patient and accommodating as my husband and I worked through what we want our future (immediate and long-term) to look like. He took the time to show us through models what several scenarios (i.e. one of us not working for a number of years, one of us retiring early, one of us making half the salary we're currently making, etc.) would look like and how that would impact us. Renee was also equally fantastic! She was also always professional and speedy in getting us information. And, she was always so polite when checking in with us on our outstanding items. If you are interested in having someone review your current portfolio and create an actionable plan to get you to retirement (or, any goal), I recommend this office!

Charles Schwab used to have a reputation for a customer first attitude. Apparently, that went into…read morethe trash with their acquisition of TD Ameritrade. Wanting to meet with them to deal with my existing accounts and open one with my daughter, I attempted to schedule an appointment. I used their online appointment request form a week ahead of my desired date. Although promised a 1-2 business day response, I never heard from anyone. So, the day before I wanted to meet, I attempted to call the office in Washington State where I was planning to go. My call ended up with a nice man in Tampa instead. He helped as much as he could and sent a message to the office I was trying to reach, asking them to contact me. They did not do that, and I had to cancel my plans with my daughter. I still have not heard back from them. I think they were not prepared for the huge increase in customers due to their acquisition of Ameritrade, especially after closing many offices over the past four years. Hopefully, the lawsuit to unwind this merger will succeed, but a resolution to that suit will still be years away. Meanwhile, I am shopping for a new place for my investments, because I can no longer trust Schwab to act in any competent manner.

My experience with WSECU was extremely disappointing. I contacted the credit union seeking basic…read moreinformation regarding a loan account and was assisted by Julie. Unfortunately, I found her demeanor to be rude, condescending, and unprofessional. Rather than providing assistance or directing me to someone who could help, I felt as though I was being interrogated about why I needed the information. The tone of the conversation was dismissive and lacked the courtesy and respect that customers deserve. Customer service should be built on professionalism, patience, and respect. Even when information cannot be provided, there is a respectful way to communicate that to customers. Based on this experience, I was left feeling frustrated and undervalued. I hope management reviews customer service standards and provides additional training to ensure future customers are treated with dignity and respect.

However, the pet insurance company they are marketing and profiting from is Odie. Odie has an F rating on BBB, a horrible rating on Trust Pilot, and a miserable rating on Yelp! There are MANY unhappy clients of Odie, yet the credit union seems to brush this off as nearly meaningless, a thing of the past. I feel WSECU is misleading its loyal members to make money rather than serving the members' best interests. In my view WSECU should always be truthful, accurate, honest, perform due diligence on the insurance products they sell, and guide their members in making well informed decisions about insurance as they do in other areas of business. After decades of being a member, this credit union has lost my trust and respect. The board of directors has been informed. And please, no patronizing or insincere replies are needed here WSECU.
