Stapleton Farmers Market October 14th 2012 visit
    Riza H. C.

Have been to Stapleton Farmers Market several time and our recent visit was this past Late Summer October 14th 2012. I still could recall my first visit was way back in 2008 with Hubs and my cousin. Eversince then, we try to go and its seems this Farmers Market grew in terms of Vendors alike. So from the 4 years we have been, there are good days and some bad days to account for. Meaning, every year they have same vendors and different vendors, that I took notice. From produce, marinades, donuts, Colorado Honey and sometimes you can catch one or two food trucks as part of the Vendors here in Stapleton Farmers Market. During our recent visit, each purchase from the Vendors you received a coupon that entitled you to get Pumpkin Patch aka you can collect FREE PUMPKIN since Halloween was around the corner. I prefer to bring CASH for any Farmers Market that I went although nowadays, the Vendors allow Credit Card transaction. Its good to keep in touch with the Vendors in case you need their products etc etc either thru Facebook or their personal/business contact. I always like to go to this Stapleton Farmers Market early so I can reccee what they have to offer. Even at 10 in the morning, this Farmers Market is indeed bustling with other visitors alike. All in all an A-OKAY Farmers Market in our books. @153/2012

Well, I hate to give any farmers market less than five stars, but if I gave them all full props then I'd probably get the nick-name Girl Who Cried Bravo and then no one would believe me when something really WAS fabulous. This farmers market has notably improved since I visited last year. But it is still lacking the variety of vendors that other area markets present. There is ONE vendor selling fruit, ONE selling vegetables, and ONE selling tomatoes, I guess because the fruit and the veggie guys couldn't agree on whether a tomato is a fruit or a vegetable. (It's a fruit.) I like what they're selling, don't get me wrong. I will happily buy apricots and broccoli from them. But this market as a whole has a bit of growing up to do before it's a destination, not a pass-by-stop-in. 3.5 stars, if you please.

Polished tavern's stand: delicious, hot pierogis

The Stapleton Farmers Market has a lot to offer. You can find an abundance of fresh produce to zesty marinades. The area is just large enough that it will not overwhelm you as you shop and still allow you to find what you may be looking for at a farmers market. There are a few food trucks and also a DJ. I came across a marinade and salad dressing vendor that offered really yummy, fresh salads topped with their products. Pair that with a refreshing mango lemonade from one of the other vendors I saw along the way and I had a great lunch. There are also plenty of vendors selling different types of desserts. I had my first pierogis here. A restaurant was offering samples of their pierogis and was also selling them by the six (6) piece. Definitely give their meat and vegetarian pierogis a try. Forte Farms had the best cherries! There are benches around the area and also picnic tables with umbrellas. If you've slathered on the sunscreen, bring along a beach towel or something to sit on because there is plenty of grass to sit on. Some vendors will accept credit cards and you can parallel park along the street.

Small but decent showing from vendors. Would love to see more farm vendors. Get fruit stand. Very family and dog friendly.

The fact that I didn't know it has existed until a few weeks ago is something I need to fathom. Whatever the case may be, I got to know it is the most important thing. According to its website, its motto appears right on the front page: "Feeding our community one garden at a time". This concept resonates with me so much. I get the impression that they don't care about the size of the market, they simply focus on the quality by providing nutrients that are largely lacking in our human lives because what they focus on is "contamination free". On a hot summer day in mid June, I was at the former location of its market (I think they had just announce that they are moving its location to Aurora Town Center which is still well within my reach) with my umbrella over me to avoid the strong sun. Coffee vendors to produce vendors to a bakery to a holistic vendor with a chair massage, there are about 10 to no more than 15 vendors lined up to welcome like-minded visitors who are looking for some rare finds. Each tent welcomed me with open arms. Yes, everyone is welcome. I sampled a morsel of a jalapeno cheddar sourdough bread at a 5260 Bread Co and this was one of the best breads I have ever tasted might not be an exaggerated statement. Genese with Gifted Touch gave me one of the most relaxing massages which put me to half sleep. But most of all, Anisha's Farms impressed me the most out of all. Anisha grows vegetables in her (backyard?) garden. Using those veggies with no contaminants, she makes jars of what's somewhat considered a "salsa" called "chow chow". But it's more than the regular salsa. It's fermented that gives all sorts of nutrients. In a way, this is a wellness product you can incorporate into your daily meal routine. I got me the medium spicy which isn't spicy at all (I'm saying this from the standpoint of someone who is not big on spicy hot stuff.) I put this one on egg white omelet or sauteed spinach or even cold tofu to eat it in the morning. This absolutely enhances my morning meal each day which I even look forward to it the night before about dreaming about consuming Anisha's magical concoction. I feel like my body is cleansed from deep within.I cannot wait to go back and buy more of those. Next time, I am determined to buy a loaf of the jalapeno cheddar sourdough from the bread company (makes my mouth water by imagining it.) Thanks Rebel Market, for becoming part of my community in the southeastern Denver metro area. You'll have my utmost respect and support going forward. I will see you at the new location in a week or so!

This one was in the parking lot closest to Macy's. It wasn't too big, but they had a nice variety of vendors, with food, crafts, plants, and artisan goods. That had a live band playing some chill tunes too which was nice. Absolutely loved the fresh baked bagel spot called Springs, they had this scallion olive oil cream cheese that was delish, and had their toaster on site to prep everything right there. Shame they don't have a brick and mortar location - they said they pop up at a lot of these markets on weekends and do catering (wonder what they do in the winter?) Also was tempted to get some permanent jewelry, there was at least 3-4 vendors offering these. Maybe next time! Had such a nice time here but it's very hot and the only shade are a few tables with umbrellas for eating that were mostly taken. Stay hydrated!

It's open every Sunday from 9AM to 1PM, and while it gets a bit crowded, the energy is great and it's absolutely worth showing up early. I came with the intention of buying produce... and somehow left with a haul of food, drinks, and snacks instead (oops). But honestly? No regrets. Here's what I picked up: R&R's Texas Tacos & BBQ - Grabbed the Norteño Taco, Guadalupe Taco, and a Bean & Cheese Taco. All three were flavorful and filling--definitely recommend starting your market stroll here. Draft Signature Drinks - Their iced vanilla latte with oat milk hit the spot on a warm morning. Smooth and perfectly balanced. ‍ Pat & Bear - A 6-pack of macarons in flavors like churro, pistachio honey, and lemon blueberry. Delicate, delicious, and beautifully made. Cultura Chocolate - Picked up their drinking Mexican chocolate, champurrado, and agua de horchata. Everything tasted rich and authentic--perfect for gifts or treating yourself. Reunion Bread Co. - Pastel de nata, almond cake, and a ham & cheese focaccia. Every bite was a winner, but that pastel de nata was a standout. Whether you're there for produce (maybe next time!) or just to explore and graze, the South Pearl Street Farmers Market is a great way to spend a Sunday morning.
