My daughter took me to this store because she says it is the most unique store she has ever been…read morein. Now I know why. This antique store has 1,000's of items on sale. There are at least two, possibly three levels of items available. The main level had a lot of collectible items, dishes, silverware, books, comic books, etc. The basement had an entire library of books, clothes, tools and furniture. Even on the way to the bathroom and believe it or not in the bathroom there are paintings for sale. The employees are friendly and the prices rather cheap.

I haven't made a purchase yet. The sales guys--Doug (North end) and Michael Sadler (downtown)--didn't come across as genuine. I went to the North end store first to see what options they had. Doug was the salesperson on duty. His attitude and energy weren't welcoming, even though his face tried to make up for it. I felt like he was talking down to me. So I decided to go downtown to compare customer service and selection. There I met the owner, Bryan. He was super friendly and genuine, taking his time to figure out what I was looking for. He pulled up the Ashley Furniture store on his computer and offered to scroll through all the selections to help me find what I needed. I didn't have enough time that day to buy, so I told Bryan I'd come back. I went back the next day and spoke with Michael. I walked in, introduced myself, and told him I had spoken to Bryan yesterday, who was friendly enough to offer to look up some things for me. Then I said I realized it wasn't a loveseat I wanted--it was a three-piece modular. Michael just said, "Well, there's a lot more that I need to know," but he didn't ask any questions. He just made me feel stupid. Then he smiled and looked at me. I said, "Well, what else do you need to know?" He said, "Many things," but again didn't ask any questions or offer any help. He just stood there, saying nothing. So I said, "I'll just come back when Bryan is here." Michael replied, "Well, you're welcome to do that," and then went back to work--even though he wasn't helping anyone else and wasn't busy. How do you expect to make a sale like that, Michael? I explained to him that I wanted black appliances and he begins to tell me that they are out of style. Can you imagine the look on my face when he said that! I was not even able to get out black stainless and he tells me out of style. Fast forward, I do all the leg work and and find what we want. He orders it and says four to six weeks at best. Never heard from him again. Called him and said a phone call with a follow up would have been nice. Said he would, still no follow up. I had to call myself and find out when will we receive the rest of our order. Another 4 weeks. So in total 10 weeks and counting.......nothing. Now I have to wait till middle of July. However, after 4 years of use, an incident occurred. While my wife was seated on the sofa in its reclined position, the back suddenly broke, causing her to fall on her back. Concerned, I initiated a warranty claim only to face utter disappointment. The warranty claim was summarily denied, citing 'Willful abuse, neglect or misuse of the Product' Despite my persistent efforts to seek clarification, the store representatives, including Courtney and Alex, displayed dismissive attitudes. Their explanations bordered on incredulity, suggesting either that we exerted excessive force, which isn't covered, or that we should have noticed a potential issue earlier, which we couldn't have as the sofa is sealed, concealing any internal damage, they stated "Failure to file a claim within 14 days (as this can impact our ability to repair/replace the Product);". After numerous attempts to reason with the store, the manager finally offered a settlement, albeit an unsatisfactory one. They offered 60% of what I have paid, but they refused to repair the sofa, claiming it would be more expensive than replacing it. They have the same sofa available, but I would have to pay the difference based on today's price. I feel cheated by The Brick and I don't recommend anyone to buy products there because of the bad quality and cheap tactics to charge for extended warranties and not cover it when we need

I did and they left. Yesterday I had help to remove the mattress off the foundation as I can't lift it myself. I am a senior on my own with a bad back. Surprise! Big rip and a whole in the cover of the foundation. I spoke with Courtney and then her superior Craig from the brick. Got no satisfaction at all. Unwavering in their flat response of "you signed the paper". Hard lessened learned but from now on I will be standing right on top of the delivery people and inspecting every inch of every product. Very poor business standards. Do not shop at the Brick!
