This location (Howell, Route 9) is quite mediocre. I'm always in and out of office supplies stores, different staple locations, etc., and this location needs some improvements.
First off, the variety of products is lacking. I'm a graduate student and I often lecture as adjunct at local colleges. I'm always looking for ways to organize my dissertation, student papers, and well, my life in general! I hot pink and orange post it notes, colorful paper clips, flashy planners and cork boards, and those nifty tabs that you can use to bookmark pages. I've picked up some really cool stationary at samples before, but every time I come to this location they seem to lack in variety. I can't even find the tabs I want.... they have the "flag tabs" but not in the colors I want. I need to have the same colors for everything I do or there will be pure chaos in my life!!! chaos!!!!
Then there is the print services. I love that staples lets you print at there store. I cannot think off hand in regards to the price per page, but it's definitely worth it when you are printing at mass volume. I'm always printing anywhere from 50 to 450 pages at a time. It depends on the research I conducted, etc. I was disappointed that the printing and copy services didn't offer to print it for me at this location. I know, yes, I can just go to the printer and print it myself, but since I am printing such a high volume of paper it's nice to have someone else do it for the price! There is another Staples in the area that offers to print every time I am there, and I just come back in an hour or so, and they have it all printed and in a nice neat box for me. I think that is a great service and this staples should adopt this! Perhaps they do, but the staff needs to step it up, and OFFER to do so. Isn't that what customer service is all about?
Then there is the staples rewards. I've had a staples rewards card for a long time but I never get any rewards. I think after a year, I finally got a 5 dollar off coupon... Prices for the white boards and cork boards, need to come down. Way too expensive and you can get them much cheaper, at different supply or craft stores. Actually, craft stores are much more affordable when it comes to cork and white boards in my humble opinion.
Most of the cashiers I have seen here are like zombies. It appears as if they hate their job and want to go home. Hate your job or not, do it, and smile!
