I bought the Jlab GO Air POP earbuds at the Unity Square location in Edmonton. After getting them I realized they can't be turned on without the case. Huge disadvantage. When I tried to return them, the Staples sales guy - a shift manager by the name of Rob, I believe - was very rude, saying I just didn't know how to work the earbuds. But after he tried it himself and realized I was right, all he was willing to do - without apologizing, of course - was to replace the defective earbuds with another set of the same model, which were defective in the exact same way. Patty from the photo counter was so incredibly rude over the phone. It was my first time ordering photos by same day, and i thought that means within that day you placed the order. So when I asked she said it would be ready the next day, 24 hours later. The tone in which she said it was so condescending and rude. This was my first time using this service. Reviewing the copy centre this visit. I had a pre-printed document - a manual, and brought my own cerlox comb to have it bound. Lucked out at 7:30 on a Friday that the only staff was a trainee who did not know how to cerlox, only coil bind. Ok, I'll have it coil bound, yes, front and back cover - it's a shop manual, try to keep it clean. And please may I have my jumbo bulldog clip back when you are finished. (They aren't cheap) Returned in an 75 minutes, and picked up my completed prepaid spiral bound manual, it was ready to go. Needless to say, my bulldog clip was nowhere to be seen. Guess I should have taken it with me when I dropped off the project. read more

I have used this Staples a few times for various copying and printing. When using self-service I have no problem. I decided to save myself the hassle of cutting 100 pages into squares and left my printing with the copy centre. I was advised I could collect at 7pm or in the morning. Unfortunately when I went in to pick up the items the following morning, they didn't event print the copies never mind cut the pages to size. The lady behind the desk was very apologetic and assured me she would find out why this hadn't been done. I've still not heard back. There was no offer of a rush job but I knew there was no time at this stage for that any way. I took my refund and left very disappointed. I will not use this location again. read more

This location is smaller than the Office Depot location that used to be here before it became Staples. That said, it has one of the best ink cartridge selections of any store in the city (well Staples does anyway). The furniture section is pretty tiny but the store in general has pretty good selections of items in stock. While the store wasn't busy during my visit, it did take a while to get some service. I was surprised that you can earn Air Miles here though which is kind of nice, and the copy centre seemed busy which is nice. It is great to have a Staples location in the Oliver neighborhood and I really do appreciate having this here. read more

I don't know what to say, I purchased a webcam at this location, went home, tried it out, found it couldn't deliver what I needed. I looked up the return policy, found they promise 30 day return/refund in resaleable condition. I then went back to the store to ask for an exchange, they didn't have any better models in store so I then asked for a refund. At this time a "manager" named Tyler became involved and informed me that the serial numbers did not match what was in their file and the refund was invalid. I was not shown the mismatching serial numbers or offered any further explanation. Any time I asked for more clarification he insisted the serial numbers did not match and that this violated their return policy. I know this is the camera I purchased earlier. I did not and do not appreciate the implication that I am a liar or a thief. This all happened today. Avoid purchasing at this location if you believe there is any chance you will need to return/refund the product. read more

I was there Friday to photocopy a document. I used their services since I had the document on my usb stick. The guy helping was very nice and accommodating. I paid looked at printers and then left. Got home and realized that I left my ISB stick at Staples. Couldnt go bk atlas I was using the bus and they close at 5. So i tried calling. Well it was a recording that hung up after it was done. So i went bk today. Made it inside to look at printers again and to ask about my USB stick . This time the same guy was rude. I pointed to the usb stick sitting on their counter terminal and I said that's it. Thank you!! He said he said me telling him the color meant nothing he said what was written on the stick and I said I wasnt sure. I never even looked! He said that I should know "my stuff".it was very rude. I recently bought a new wireless router from Staples. Let me tell you, there is nobody that knows less than I do about that kind of stuff, so the selection that most people find impressive, I find daunting. Luckily there was a gigantic man with an even larger base of knowledge with which to help me out with working that day. He asked me a lot of questions to help him determine the exact correct router to fit my needs. He didn't just steer me to the most expensive one, and but told me what the differences were between the models and gave me some options that would work in my situation. I had purchased, and returned 2 different routers recently from another store that were not performing as expected, so I'm happy to finally have the right one and it's working perfectly. read more

This is the closest location to me, in Oliver Square area. This is my go-to for any of the non-profits printing work that I do. I love the fact that you can put it in your Dropbox account and access the file through the printer right at Staples. Load some cash on your Staples card and swipe it to access any of the printers services. The only negative I really have about this place is that the Print Shop only has the one rentable computer to do self-serve scanning with. Don't forget to bring your USB drive like I do, you need something to store your scanned file on! Staples also has a great selection of anything that you could possibly think of needing in an office environment. They even carry snacks and cleaning supplies! read more

If I could give the 0/5 I would. The customer service at the printing centre is just terrible. There is 4 people waiting and two works dealing/flirting with one customer. I have been here for 10 min and no movement in the line. Just more flirting then anything. I guess you need to hire 4 people to deal with 2 customers at a time. The whole time I have been writing this still no one has talked to any one other then just the one customer. This is so bad read more

I depend upon the FedEx here but they never even attempt to enter the building for deliveries. Drivers just leave a notice then you are responsible for going to Staples to pick it up. In our current crisis, delivery people are important but they should at least try to do the job they are paid to do. read more

Perfect example of why retail is dying ! Terrible service for printing and faxing and most things on the shelves can be found cheaper online. Their employees are very slow and unhelpful it took almost 45 minutes to send a fax!!!!! This is after the employee kept forgetting to press the proper button, so each time the attempt to send a fax would take 5 minutes, and then the employee would tend to other customers needs. So about 8 attempts later it added up to 45 minutes. No wonder this store is going bankrupt. read more

The cashier who helped me was in training. As a trainee, he thought it was appropriate to condescend to me by explaining how the tap function worked on the debit machine and then he yelled at me when I said I knew how it worked. I spoke to a manager about the issue and I was not satisfied that this employee would be reprimanded appropriately. I have had the worst experience with Staples in Oliver Square when I bought a Samsung tablet. Fortunately, a Samsung rep was in the store and she demonstrated the product and what it was capable of. The salesman in the store was difficult to understand and extremely slow. He had to order the tablet online as there were none in the store (09/11/17), which I paid for immediately. He wrote down the incorrect email address so I heard nothing. I went into the store on Monday, 20/11/17 and as the tablet was there, he spent nearly an hour entering info, on a card and taking my money again to have apps entered on the tablet. He said it would take 1-2 business days. When I received no phone call, I went into the store again on Friday, 24/11/17 to pick it up! Since i have recently had a wrist op and am unable to drive, a friend took me in each time. She was thinking of buying the same product, but said it would not be from Staples! I went to this Staples today to purchase a tablet. I knew which one I wanted. I waited a while for someone to come over and offer to help me. A woman did then she walked away and called for someone. I'm thinking someone is going to come around the corner eager to help. Instead I see this guy Sandeep or Sundeep come around the corner looking like he just woke up from a nap. He didn't even offer to help me. He instead walked over to customer service and talked with the cashiers. I had to wave him down to help me when he was trying to make his escape. I told him which one I wanted and that I didnt see it on display. Long story short, he did not look or act like he wanted to help. I asked him if he could go find it for me as I was in a hurry. He said I guess. He walked away and went 2 the room where they keep the computers. 10 minutes later I see him emerge, walk right past me, over to customer service, again talking to co-workers, and then he walked away. Luckily at this time another employee Mike asked me if I'd been helped. I said not really and he offered to help me right away. the lady who first asked me if i needed help asked if i'd been helped. I said yes this gentleman is assisting me cause the other guy disappeared. She seemed surprised and walked away. Something tells me this "employee" doesn't win employee of the month. I spent 15 minutes waiting for someone to help me and it only took less than 10 for Mike to assist me. He gave me wonderful customer service experience.
