We moved back to Rochester from out of state and bought a home in Fairport that needed some…read moreupdating and a major renovation that included taking two bedrooms and making them into one large bedroom suite with an expanded bathroom and large walk-in closet. In addition to that, they also replaced 3 closet door sets, 2 exterior doors, replaced several light fixtures and ceiling fans and installed a new ceiling fan, replaced toilets, etc....DJ and his partner were given full access to the house and they were there every day, like clock work for almost 5 weeks and the place looks beautiful. They were prompt, courteous, polite, tidy and very skilled. Their work habits and attention to detail, etc...speaks volumes. DJ even acted as my agent and helped see other projects get done while he was doing his thing (garage floor epoxy, whole house generator install, appliance delivery and moving-he put a covering on the wood floors so they wouldn't get damaged, etc....) They weren't the lowest quote we received, but not the highest either. We had a somewhat aggressive timeline and they were the only ones who said they could do it. They worked into the late evening a few times just to make sure they did. Communication was very good, especially when we were not there one single day during the project, but 4 states away. If there was a question, DJ called. If I didn't answer, he would move on to something else until he got ahold of me and had the question answered. I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures of our project posted on his website. The bathroom, especially the tiling, gets alot of "ahhhs" and "oooohs" and a couple other contractors (working for HD) have looked at it and were impressed as well. Even our painter positively commented on it and he usually isn't complimentary :) Don't let their age keep you from hiring Dede. You'll swear they are 10-15 yrs older than they are. We look forward to having him do our other full bath in a couple months once we recuperate from moving in. They painted the walls and ceiling, put down a new floor, tore out our old bathtub, then installed a walk in shower. They put up 2 new cabinets, put in a new vanity and ceiling fan also. they tore down our old medicine cabinet and put in the new mirror. we had them install new lights above the mirror, and they even did the baseboard heater!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We couldn't of asked for 2 better people to do this work. I have had compliments from several people who have seen the work they did. I had a leaking transluscent panel on my garage roof that needed to be replaced, and I wanted roof…read moreventing installed. I contacted Morris Rossman of RAM construction in Branchport to have the panel replaced and the venting installed. Mr. Rossman and his son, Chris, were prompt in coming to my home and in providing  a clear and affordable estimate for the work. The estimated cost was 700.00. Chris gave me a date for the repairs. Chris arrived promptly on April 4 and completed the work in a timely manner. I paid Chris, and thought that we were done. We were not. A section of vented roof that Chris installed had a leak. This area did NOT leak before Chris installed the venting. I called Chris, who proved difficult to reach. His phone voice mail was not set up to accept messages and he never answered the phone. I called Morris, who never answered his phone or returned any calls. I resorted to texting Chris, to which he finally responded. He agreed to fix the leak that occurred in the venting that he had installed. We set a time. Chris arrived and effected repairs. But when the rains came again, the roof in that area leaked worse. Failed repair #1. I texted Chris. He said he would be back. On Sunday, June 2, Chris showed up and effected another repair. I accompanied him on the roof. I was appalled by the work that he had done. The ridge was deformed, the vent was not properly installed, and there was a huge amount of silicon sealer simply applied in globs. It was ugly. I will post pictures if possible. I knew that it would need to be repaired, but kept quiet since I wanted the leak repaired first. Chris applied more silicon to a likely leak site and left. It rained shortly after. And the roof leaked! There were now three leaks in the area he repaired where there used to be only one, leaking worse than ever. Failed Repair #2. I texted Chris and mentioned that things were worse than ever. When I asked him to repair I also mentioned how disappointed I was. He texted back, "Okay, find someone else then. Bye." I am disappointed and upset. I am out 700 bucks, and left with a roof leaking where it did not leak before Chris's installation. I will need to find another roofer to repair Chris's work and pay more money. And so I post this review, to alert consumers about work poorly performed by Chris Rossman, Morris Rossman and RAM Construction. If you want work performed correctly, do NOT do business with RAM Construction. Ken quoted me a proposal to plow my driveway which was a one time charge for the season. When I received the contract I told him that I was interested in a per trip charge, as I believe this is the fairest for both parties. He reluctantly agreed an sent an amended proposal which I accepted, signed and returned. He in turn sent an email thanking me for the business and accepting the contract. This was in October2024. In November 2024 he then tells me that he will not honor the contract. When I remind him that therE may be consequences for breaking a contract, he then says OK "I will do it for this year but not next year". When my driveway didn't get staked as specified in the contract, I contacted Ken, he said at that time, per trip contracts do their own staking. At this point is was becoming increasingly clear that Ken had no intention of honoring his word OR the written contract.. I have contacted him via text messaging to clean up my driveway AT HIS CONVENIENCE. He has not come!! I URGE YOU TO DO BUSINESS WITH PEOPLE THAT HAVE ESTABLISHED TRUST, WITHIN THIS COMMIUNITY.
