Ladies greeted me when arrived. Waited a bit and thwn qent to exam room to wait for doc and while sitting there dic came in tv screen to do exam remote. Caught me off guard since i had not been told that exams were remote. So in my opinion,pretty poor customer service. Veey little selection of synglasses so was told should just find some online from another business and given prescription to upload to aa site i could find stylish prescription glasses. They should definitely have a larger selection of sunglasses for females other rgan Rayban style since its not the 80s anymore. Costco has larger selection. Live and learn read more

I got my eyes examined and the service is horrible. I went to get glasses with my new prescription only to find out the prescription is weaker than my previous prescription. I have purchased three pair of glasses now who is going to bite the cost to get my lens replaced? This is horrible. read more

I had my appointment changed twice by Stanton Optical. The doctor is trying to do an eye exam from a tv screen remotely. I asked why is everything blurry and he said that it's fine. This explains why so many people get wrong prescriptions. All of this for them to tell me to come back tomorrow and do a retest. So that's 2 hours completely wasted. Worse experience ever. Please don't go here. They do same day appointments because it's not correct. read more

I had a horrible experience with this company. First the prescription they did was incorrect from the eye exam. The bifocal line was too far up so half my eye was under the line and the other half was on top of line. Couldn't walk or drive. Went back to get that corrected and am still waiting on those glasses. I was charged full price on second pair of glasses even though it said lenses and frames for second pair should have been free. Prescription in that pair was completely wrong and had to get another exam. Paid over $700 and still can't see a month later. Now I can't get them to answer the phone. I am beyond disappointed with my experience at Stanton Optical. The deals they advertise are straight-up misleading. They lure you in with promises of 'two pairs of glasses plus an eye exam for $79' but good luck actually getting that deal. First off, the 'free' eye exam conveniently requires you to purchase glasses, which isn't really free, is it? Then, when you try to take advantage of the two-for-one deals, you quickly find out that the frames you actually like aren't included, or the lenses you need come with a hefty upcharge. It feels like a bait-and-switch. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere that's upfront about their pricing. read more

Beware. This business says they will waive your eye exam if you buy glasses from them. They charged me for both.

first, the front desk help was very dry! I asked how was she doing twice with no response. completely ignored everything but went straight to dry talking. They don't even have a real dr as it's a dr on the monitor doing your testing. it's $50 for "contact fitting" with no trial size to even fit my eye. Why would I blind buy high priced contacts without even trying on a trial size to make sure I can see with no irritation. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

My eye appointment was set for 10:30. I arrived at 10:20. First they were addressing me as Mr Roberts, my name is Coe. They had me mixed up with another person that was already shopping for glasses. After watching what I thought was the receptionist run around back and forth I deducted that was actually the Doctor and she was trying to take patients and do exams. I was Leary. Then when I asked how much longer at 11 o'clock she replied if your in a rush you can reschedule like I was the problem. about 10 minutes later she brought the paper work. I did that and she was doing the exam on a patient and talking and asking me if I wanted to reschedule. Finally I decided this place was way to hap hazard to trust. She asked me again ( while she had the exam room door open and was doing an exam) . I said I am going to leave, and she asked if I wanted to reschedule I responded I won't be back. I would not trust this place to sell me mouthwash much less trust my eyes to them. read more

I broke my glasses and can't really see without them but it was time for me to get a new pair. One of my co workers told me about Stanton Optical so I decided to pay them a visit. I explained that I didn't have any insurance and was told that it was not a problem. The staff was so friendly and they made sure I got not one but 2 pair of glasses, plus an eye exam for one flat price!!! I highly recommend them. The business model is fatally flawed. They seem to be outsourcing most of the services, resulting in a telemedicine "exam". After waiting over 45 minutes for the prescription that I get immediately after the exam from my usual optometrist, I elected to wait and get the prescription the next day. When I tried to call the store to get the Rx, the call went to an external answering service. After speaking to multiple representatives, none of whom seemed to be primarily English-speaking, I was finally able to get the Rx, but the near-vision correction was omitted. I called back, did the switchboard shuffle again, and was told they would email the complete prescription for multifocal contacts. When it arrived, the near-vision correction for contacts was missing but was included for progressive glasses, so the near-vision exam was clearly performed. I called and did the switchboard dance again, and was told I would have to come in for another eye exam. I only went there to save time, but I ended up spending several times the amount of time it usually takes to get an exam-- and STILL never got the prescription. Caveat emptor. Jeff S read more

The eye exam was done telemedicine, which I only found out once the exam was about to start. Just me in a room with someone on a computer screen. which I thought was GREAT until I got my glasses and the RX was completely screwed. It was wayyy too strong. I called but couldn't reach anyone in the store, only customer service in a service center. They couldn't tell me when an actual doctor would be in to repeat my exam so it could be corrected. Quite frankly it was the most awful experience I've had getting glasses, and I've been in glasses for 20 years. Don't go here, you'll regret it. read more

An elderly friend of mine broke her frames and I needed something quick and I took her prescription glasses to Stanton optical and Garland Baugh was amazing! With her help I was able to find a set of frames to hold the existing lenses however if we had not gotten that lucky she found the exact prescription and would have cut a new set of lenses for another set of frames. This location seemed nice at first, but it is not run well and you can't reach anyone at the location via phone. My wife got an exam and ordered glasses almost 2 months ago. Her ordered showed delayed on the website for weeks and then this week the order showed canceled. When you call the customer service # you get a call center that is completely worthless. They can't reach the location in Ridgeland and we have tried to call their # for 3 days, but no one ever answers. We live an hour away and just want to speak to someone before we drive to the store. Don't waste your time with this company even though the pricing sounds great. read more

I give this business two stars because the workers inside are so knowledgeable and friendly. Other than that, my appointment was for 0930. I arrived at 0920 and did not get seen until 1 hour later. I did not leave there until 1217. There is currently no in house optometrist. The exam are performed by a doctor through teleconference. Pretty cool to see how far technology has advanced, but if I'd known prior I would have booked an appt elsewhere. read more

I came to Stanton Optical for an eye exam and to purchase some new eye glasses. upon arrival the facility was very clean and the technician was very welcoming. The check in process was very easy and all of my questions were answered well. It didn't take long at all for me to get back and get started with my appointment, I greatly appreciated not having to wait! The technician was very friendly and walked me through the whole process. I was a bit apprehensive about a Telehealth eye exam, but it went just as smooth as it would have if the doctor was in person! All of my copays were explained very well when picking out my glasses and there were no hidden fees or surprises. I didn't feel rushed or pressured when picking out my frames which is something I have experienced at other eye doctors. All in all, I had a fantastic experience and I am so happy to call Stanton Optical my new home for all things eye care related! read more

This was the worst expenses ever. I got two pairs of glasses one for distance and the other pair for readers and they my vision is worse with the glasses then without I told the lady and they are redoing my distance glasses but my reading glasses she refused to do anything about. I will never use these people again it's a wast of time and money and I am still in need of glasses so now I have to pay someone else to have my eyes examined and pay for more glasses read more

I picked up my "new glasses" 2 pairs. told the girl I can't see/read with them. She looked at computer said they are same prescription (I had said the dark glasses seemed ok) but I wasn't trying to read. No one tried to see if the frames were properly fitted and only said well try them for a few days progressive take time to adjust. I've worn progressive's for more than 20 years. Tried them for a day and can't see, gave me a horrendous headache, made me nauseous and I had to go back to the old glasses. I was assured these were large enough to put my RX in the frame but I think perhaps they aren't or the RX was not put in so that the "reading portion sat in the correct place". Stay as far away from this business as possible! They were happy to take my $533 but the prescription was wrong and I still do not have two sets of glasses I ordered 8 months later. I contacted them countless times by physical visits, phone calls and sent certified letters to the Jackson store and the national folks (this is a franchise, y'all) Our Attorney General of Mississippi contacted them for resolution and......they refused to respond to any of it. No refund. No glasses. Just a major scam. This is happening in other Stanton Optical stores as well - they are being sued by AGs for: customers waited months to receive their glasses after paying for them; received glasses with incorrect prescriptions; or did not receive refunds they were owed. Terrible experience. Went there for on 5/2 for an "emergency pair" as my girlfriend's dog chewed up my glasses the night before. I had to pay cash (no insurance) and walked out with a pair of glasses and another that was promised to be shipped to the store for pickup later... actually, two pairs of glasses I hated, such as their terrible selection... with a bill that looked like I had gone somewhere much more upmarket. Flash forward to today. Weird circumstances dictated my needing another "emergency pair" this morning. I went to a place representing itself to be in the same market category "ie discount prescription glasses" and lo and behold, I got two complete pairs for nearly $100 less than the charlatans at Stanton. And it was all summed up for me before I committed to the purchase (not the case with Stanton). Most importantly, at Stanton I complained that the lenses gave my vision a "fisheye lens" kind of effect. Like the central axis of my vision was curved. I wasn't happy with the dizzying effect of my lenses, and the guy acted like he had no idea what I was talking about, and I'd get used to it... Ok so I went around driving and working in a world that looked like and old McG video. Thank God I needed another pair and went somewhere else so soon. I got to wondering why this place that presented themselves as being on a price point level with Eyemart Express was so much more expensive, so I compared the receipts. My bill from Stanton is littered with add-ons and charges that were never explained to me, they were just quoted as being the "barebones, asap" price that I asked for. I literally had to leave so I could borrow money so I could afford their "discount" glasses. To sum things up: I'm emailing the attorney general of MS a copy of my receipt. I would just ask for my money back, but even if they gave it to me, I couldn't sleep at night knowing that this place could still be treating future customers like this without me saying something. read more

My sons frame broke and I requested a replacement pair of glasses. I'm not changing his prescription just want a replacement pair of glasses. Are they under warranty YES. Even if they weren't under warranty I would pay the cost. They said I had to come in for an appointment for what reason I asked. I don't need an appointment I just need a replacement pair of glasses. This makes no sense as a business to me. So I will never go back. read more

This store and staff is horrible . I asked for a refund a month ago and I have yet to see on my account. I have called customer service and they gave me a number to a towing company. I have called everyday to check on my refund nobody could tell me why I haven't gotten it or my prescription. I all this happen on 6/29/20 and today is 8/7/20. I have had two appointments at Stanton Optical. Both visits were very pleasant. The office workers were polite and efficient. I was seen before my appointment time on both days. Dr. Echols is excellent. She listens and provides advice (for me on contact wear) as well as thorough care. I've been other places before moving to Jackson. Stanton does a great job. Their prices are affordable with various plans to fit your needs. I'm glad to have them in our city. read more

When I went to pick up my glasses, it was obvious the heavy set fellow who waited on me hated his job there and wanted to make customers feel as miserable! He was extremely rude! I recently picked up my "2 pairs of glasses for $99 including eye exam"-- 6 months after first visiting Stanton. I drove the 100 miles because dispensaries in my area charge $500-1000 for their cheapest glasses. I had tried another nearby discount chain and had a bad experience. I called Stanton in November, 2018 and then visited a week later, both times confirming the 2-for-1 deal. I made an appointment for early December. I called 2 days before to confirm. When I arrived for my eye exam, I was told the "optometrist is out today"; when I explained this history, I was told to "go over to Walmart (nearby) and get an exam and we'll credit it". I did so. Then, when I went to order the glasses, I was told "Oh, our $99 deal doesn't apply to your lenses because yours are 'special'". The clerk did give me a discount, so my total expenditure was $220. The glasses were made. 2 weeks later, when I picked them up, the lenses were completely wrong. I had to make another exam appt., then return, be re-examined, and re-order the glasses. Later, when I picked them up in late April, they were finally correct. However, the frames I had picked out in November were not the 2 frames of the new glasses. The clerk told me, "Sometimes they just use what they have." I will compliment the store manager, who went out of his way to help address my problems. However, the other clerks were at best indifferent to my difficulties, and 2 of them were surly. In all, I made 4 200 mile round trips for these glasses. Total cost then was not much less than 1 pair would have cost me locally. The "your lenses are special" constitutes a scam of the "bait-and-switch" variety. All in all, I can't recommend Stanton Optical. read more

I was looking for a particular frame and called them I was assured they had the frames. When I arrived I discovered they had LIED. Not only did they not have the frame I sought but had never stocked the designer. High pressure salesperson tried to get me to purchase other frames. I mentioned going to another frame store the salesperson said they were closed! That was another lie ! I don't do business with this type establishment. I suggest you avoid them. read more
