The staff was very helpful with the whole process. They helped me pick out frames. I recommend them.

I needed glasses, so I went to Stanton optical in Los Banos. Their sign said 2 pairs of glasses, free eye test, and only 79 dollars. Sounded good! The staff are super friendly. They asked me to pick frames, but honestly they are almost identical. I picked a frame, and went into the exam room. Gone are the days of an eye doctor poking your eyes and such. They place your face into the exam machine, and it does alk kinds of comparisons, blows air at your eyes, and voila, you are done! On offsite eye doctor checks the results, and prescribes a solution. Then comes the shocking nees...the 79 dollar 2 pair unfortunately only applies to somebody else, not you. Mine was about 217 dollars for only one pair! Apparently, the special only applirs if your eyes don't really require any assistance. I was disappoinyed to hear thst, but I really need glasses for my job, so I ordered the 1 pair and they work fine. I would say, they are a little misleading on their ads, but friendly and make a good product. In the future I will check to see if I can find a better deal, but their product works. read more

The store is awesome and the girls there are great but the customer service that scheduled me through the phone lied to me DON'T EVER BELIEVE ANYTHING THAT COMES OUT THEIR MOUTH. The poor girls can't do anything about it if you fall for the same problem I did please call them back and call them out on their shit and then report them to the BBB they use false advertisement to schedule you and get you into the office. The scheduler has to make a quota and they get paid for every appointment they Schedule so they will say whatever they have to. So please when you call to make an appointment instead of hitting make an appointment hit the bottom that says you want to speak to customer service and they will take you straight to the store and make the appointment that way or walk in and do so. read more

Had the best experience here. Everyone who works here is friendly and super helpful. Helped me stay in budget and took a lot of time helping me find my perfect pair of glasses. They were so patient. I highly recommend this spot. If you wanna be greeted with smiles and leave happy with your choice then this is the spot. You won't regret it. read more

Stanton is great I got my first 2 pair in merced, but n9w we have one right here in L9s Banos an I can't wait to get new ones, I've been in the store at least twice here just to see if they could adjust my glasses nose piece an the ear hinge that goes over ears an the screw that holds glasses in, these girls are awesome great customer service jumped right in to help me,can't wait to make my apt now. read more

Stanton Optical - Me an great granson - Optometrists Near Me - Los Banos, California

I had a very disappointing experience at Stanton Optical in Los Banos on 6/10/25. I called ahead to confirm they accepted VSP insurance and was told they did and I have a $10.00 copay for my eye exam. The eye exam itself was a "hybrid" format with a doctor on a screen instead of in-person. It felt impersonal and inadequate for something as important as vision care. He didn't even mention that I have the start of a cataract that my provider informed me about last year. To make matters worse, the prescription I received had a typo (2.25 instead of 2.50), which was identified by another vision center. While at the other vision center we called Stanton Optical and questioned the numbers the doctor entered on my RX. Stanton's own staff confirmed that yes, the doctor entered a typo on your RX. When they finally were able to reach the doctor, he said it will take 24 hours for him to make the correction. If Stanton had doctors on site instead of hybrid exams the issue could have been immediately corrected, and they could have emailed me my corrected RX. Instead, if took multiple calls and 24 hours to get a correction. I called VSP today to complain about the service from their Network provider Stanton Optical. VSP confirmed that Stanton Optical has not been part of the VSP Network for quite some time now and I am sorry they told you they were in-network providers. Because of this, they tried to charge me $200+ extra for lenses that should have been covered in full at an in-network provider. While the office staff were polite, that doesn't make up for the incorrect information, prescription errors, and poor communication. I will not return and do not recommend their services -- especially if you're using vision insurance. I went to another vision center not associated with Stanton and they are VSP providers. I got the same frames & my progressive lenses, and I only had to pay a total of $50.00. I asked for scratch resistance coating and my $15.00 copayment. I'm so glad I went elsewhere. 24 hours later - Just talked to the Office Manager and she is unable to get the doctor to call or respond to her. As of now still no updated RX. They refunded me my $10.00 copay and told me I should go somewhere else. read more

The place doesn't have an onsite optometrist. Like I was told on the phone. After doing an eye exam I was told to pick out 2 sets if I wanted 2. The frames were BOGO free for $99.00, after sitting down with one of the employees the total was $1032. I told her I was not paying $1032 for 2 set of glasses, the sign says $99.00 BOGO free. She asked what my budget was. I'm wasn't there to negotiate a price like buying a car. This place is a scam. Even your A.I is screwed up, all it knows is to say hello! Come to find out Stanton optical is owned by now opticals. Which is owned by Daniel Stanton his nick name is Mr. Supply Chain. This guy makes millions on making people believe he's helping you with your eye care. The people that buy into this fake optometrist care center your money and your insurance money is being scammed. read more

Being transplanted from San Jose, and only going to Kaiser for the last...well, MANY years . This was a New experience for us. Not ONLY did I get same day appointments for the entire Family, (they take walk in with Ease, as I witnessed that) they took the time to find frames to fit lenses of glasses that broke. They were AMAZING with my boys (my Big one too ) and so patient with me. I look forward to truly getting to Know the Team better. If you want FAST, FRIENDLY, KIND, SUPPORTIVE, HELPFUL and just a FUN experience getting your eyes examined and if you need new glasses, "look" no further than Stanton Optical!!!! I had an appointment today at 6:05pm. I scheduled and confirmed my appointment online. When I got there they refused to see me! I wanted to retake my vision test-optical exam that I walked in for this Saturday last. I wanted it redone because they rushed me thru the initial test and the assistants there had no experience (or patience) with customers that are hearing impaired. I had brought someone there to try to help me, but the entire ordeal was 100% a failure! There was absolutely no accessibility for hearing impaired patients whatsoever! I was treated like a child or like I was simple minded! I suffer from Sudden hearing loss syndrome. I ended up leaving due to my pain level and I could no longer be on my feet or in those uncomfortable chairs they have. After I left my they told my husband they would call the police if he did not pay for the exam! So he did pay, with hopes we could make an online appointment to complete the eye exam and get retested in the next coming week. Everyone has bad days, so I decided to try again, this time with an appointment and notepad &pen in hand. It was my intention to have my vision test redone, just to make sure the Rx was right and then go thru with the purchase of the two glasses. Don't believe the 2 for $79 plus exam hype for a minute! I didn't see not ANY for that price. My choice of their mediocre knock off designer frames ended up with the bottom-line price of around $700. That is triple the amount I paid for a regular pair, and a Tory Birch designer pair of shades at Costco 2 years ago. So all Stanton delivered was deception from the gate, along with unwillingness to show any type of customer service toward a disabled person. I mentioned to them that they ought to familiarize themselves with the ADA American Disabilities Act, they were aloof and showed no interest whatsoever in even trying to communicate with me. The examining OD wasn't at all communicative or willing to help get my eyes checked or glasses squared away. Is there any way to make this right? Advice to Stanton: Train your employees in better customer relations, learn how to be an advocate to a potential patient-customer not a roadblock to obtaining vision correction. Convenient location across from Walmart. Easy online appointment and was able to be seen the next day. Very professional and clean office. Ladies wore masks and the germx was plentiful. The tele-doctor visit was smooth and exactly what have received at other Stanton offices. I paid exactly 79 dollars for two pairs and the exam. (The other review on here is not accurate, their was dozens of choices for frames for the 79 dollar deal). Brittney ( not sure of the spelling) was extremely helpful, friendly and and double checked everything. Couldn't have asked for a better visit. After going to a local optometrist I wasn't satisfied with the experience so I stopped here for a second opinion and let me just say I should've came to stanton from the jump. Absolutely terrible establishment and service. I can not call this place an optometrist location because it does not deserve that title. No real in person doctor as their goal is to simplify the process by having bots over zoom. Staff does not know what they are doing and the bots via zoom are incapable of giving accurate prescriptions. My prescription was completely off and I put a request in for a refund. Five months later and still no refund. I even returned all merchandise (contacts and glasses) to simplify the process and still no refund. The moto of this establishment should be, "Helping people see through deceitfulness because we don't actually help anyone." You're better off going to a Walmart optometrist or Costco independent optometrist. Stanton Optical in Los Banos is a disgrace. Be weary of other Stanton Optical locations as well. The worse customer service I have ever seen. As a new store to Los Banos I would think they would be looking for new customers. But not this place. I walked in and asked if they could pop a lense back into my frames. Their answer was "did you buy them here", when I explained I had not the lady said they could do it for $10 or $20. Come on really, there was nobody in the store and instead of thinking about making a return customer they took the greedy way and want to charge me. DO NOT USE THIS STORE, they are out to nickel and dime you. read more

I called and asked if they accepted VSP insurance. They said yes. I went and waited 1 1/2 hours for exam and they rushed through it. They were all bluury and looked the same. Then after the exam they said it would be $679 plus the $159 for the two frames. I asked about the insurance and then they said they only give discount for VSP. The prescription was way off. It has not changed in ten years. Be careful bait and switch. They let you wait and get tired and then try to rush you. I don't mind paying top dollar for quality but the frames are garbage and the lenses were way to big for frames and fell out in a week. read more
