Tire busted on some sharp debris on the highway and--after having no luck calling around for same-day tires replacement (I had a few spare new tires)--my trusty tow truck driver recommended Stan's Tires. You know it's a reliable place if your friendly tow truck driver who knows all the repair shops in the city recommends it. Accessing Stan's garage was easy enough (right on Market St/is tow-truck friendly). All the mechanics here are friendly and--best of all--service is reliable, affordable, and super fast! After replacing my tires, the mechanic recommended replacing my front brakes (I felt no negative pressure at all). I knew I needed it since my brakes hadn't been replaced for more than 8 years, and it was getting "rusty" after so many long road trips over the years. Tires aside (there are literally stacks of them in the garage), Stan's is a BYOS (bring your own supplies) auto shop. Prices are honest and you know you're not getting upsold on motor oil, brake pads, and other products because you purchase them yourself (there's an AutoZone conveniently located 1.5 miles away). Come to Stan's Tires for all your brake, tire, and auto repair needs! There's no need to wait days/weeks for an appointment at any of the other "highly rated" auto shops in the area. Stan's is fast, friendly, and honest. read more

I usually go to another place further from where I live because I found them to have a large stock, but today I happened to find Stans on a local map search. I called ahead for my size and they said they had it, but as usual by the time I got there it was gone already and the guy there offered another size. But luckily I got away with just needing to plug a hole and not the whole tire. The prices in general were good. read more

Everyone here is quick, informative and fairly priced. I have been to them several times and they never try to hustle me into new tires like other places. Recently i moved to South Philly, and i still chose to travel there, because of their great customer service. Thank you! read more

Just had the tire at the passenger side changed with a really good price. Friend attitude and speedy service. They completed the job in about 15 mins. read more

Stan's Used Tires - Tires Near Me - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

I recently had a flat tire and realized it was time to purchase new tires. I first went to the Meineke Car Center at 49th & Spruce where they gave me a quote of $725 (tires, alignment and installation of a new part, an outer tire rod). Finding that unreasonable, I decided to look elsewhere (do not go to Meineke). A friend told me to visit Stan's Tires because they offer used and new tires at a reasonable price. When I visited Stan's, I was greeted by the owner, I told him I needed four tires, and would take them used or new. He did not have the proper size among his used tires, but he offered me a similar size. Since I wanted to use the same tire size recommended for my vehicle, I opted for low cost new tires (my vehicle is 20+ years old, I only need capable tires). I also asked them to install my replacement part that I previously purchased (outer tire rod) a replacement installed (which I had purchased previously). In the end, I paid $330 for new tires and installation of the outer tire rod. I am very happy with their prompt service and communication. I dropped one star because it would be great if they offered wheel alignment as well, but to get the job done with new tires, this place will be my go-to location and I recommend everyone go to this great local establishment over franchises looking to drain your pockets. To give some perspective, the Meineke center offers a "free" estimate that they won't give you until they look at your car. They will then charge $45 for diagnosis despite you making no such request. They did identify that I needed a new outer tire rod, which separate from tire replacement amounted to $200 for the new part and installation. Buying the part myself and taking it to Stan's was a quarter of that price (yes, only $50 in all). Stan's is a far more trustworthy establishment. read more

We live in Brewerytown and went to University city to get some Ramen. Apparently my scooter tire decided it had had enough and exploded. I tried the getty auto, they didn't have an air machine, so I walked the scooter over to BP... they had air, but the tire's valve stem was broken. We were screwed, so call a tow truck. That's when Stan's son Omar came over and said "No need to call a truck, you guys give me what you can and I'll drop you and your scooter off safely" This was 4:30 on Saturday of labor day. I can't tell you how blessed we were that these guys have such huge hearts. We're home now and happy. Thank you so much Omar! read more

Amazing service!!! We came with a flat 15min before they closed and it was fixed so quickly and efficiently!! The three people working were all so sweet and communicative and it was super cheap. Will definitely be back and recommend- Thanks for everything. read more

Good service, decent prices, and friendly staff. Couldn't ask for better! I only needed some patches but I would definitely go back.

I had been having problems with my front tires for a month or so, they seemed to have a slow leak and despite a tire rotation it didn't seem to fix the problem (had been rear tires at first, then problem just shifted forward). Went to Stan's hoping to get the problem solved at a decent price and definitely left very happy. It's now been about 2 weeks since and my tires haven't lost any pressure, and I got it all done for $20. Can't recommend this place enough! read more

DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR OR WHEELS. I went to Stans on 6 occasions, 2 times to mount and balance, another to just balance and then 3 more times just to fix things they messed up. It took them two tries to balance my tires, on two different occasions (I went back because they are so damn cheap.) I was getting really bad vibrations thorough the wheel on the highway. Every time I've gone there to get tires mounted the Big fat guy that works there had the worst, laziest attitude, acting reluctant to even do his JOB. When they fill up your tires with air, they always put 40 psi in the tire. Causing it to balloon out (VERY VERY BAD, way to much pressure) The third time I had to go back was because they put several large gashes in my rim or wheel with their mounting machine. I just got back from this visit and they refused to fix the damage that was clearly cause by their poorly maintained equipment, and incompetent employees. This will cost me $100 to fix. Not even close to the amount I saved going there. I wouldn't take my worst enemy's car here, even if it was a hunk of junk. These people suck, and they have no standards. PASS ! read more

Went there on a lunch break to have a tire plugged and put back on my car. They plugged the tire, balanced the wheel, put the tire on my car, put the donut back where it belonged in my car, all in less than 15 minutes for $8.00. I will be using them in the future for all my tire needs. read more

I had a tire balanced here but had to return because of a slow leak caused by the balancing weights used on the tire. They added more sealant to close the leak but a couple weeks later, I had to return again for the same problem. I elected to forgo the balancing weights and save myself the potential fourth trip back for the same problem. It's red flags for me when a tire shop cannot successfully complete a simple tire balancing without creating a recurring problem. Also, I was charged for every attempt to fix the leak caused by them. read more

Quick work on changing a tire stem that I broke. Paid $5. I did take it and mount it back on my own. I think it was quick and fair pricing.

Stan is the man. Got quoted $180 less than Firestone (scam artists) for a same-quality 4 tire set on my '15 Impreza; mount balance etc. Had one issue with TPMS while we were there and one of the guys ran next door and grabbed a new one for free. Was out in 45 minutes said and done for very very cheap. While I'm living in Philly I don't really see myself going to anybody else. read more

My fiance purchased new Kelly Tires from Stan's. They gave him hemispheres. He didn't notice until a few days later and we decided to just call it a loss. Then, during a road trip, 3 of our 4 lug nuts on one of the replace tires came off (2 the bolts were sheered right off). We got the lugs replaced and the mechanic told us that it happened because the bolts were over tightened when the wheel was changed, probably because they use and air wrench with the wrong settings. Stan's did confirm that they use an air wrench when I called to inform them. The woman on the phone said that she would talk to the guys in the shop, but I wouldn't risk it. Bottom line - dishonest and unsafe. read more

This place is great! I had a punctured tire and was riding on a donut. I showed up at Stan's at 4:30 and was out by 4:40! Quick service, friendly guys, and they definitely don't rip you off. I've been to Pepboys before and I will never go back after finding Stan's. read more

Just went there to get a hole in my tire patched. Very friendly and fast. Will definitely go there again

Had a tired plugged. Great service. Nice crew. Extremely fast. Priced very appropriately. Only concern is that they tightened the lugs on the tire a bit too tightly. I called and asked if I could stop by sometime for them to loosen them; they said absolutely. I'll be returning for tire services for sure. read more

Went to Stan's a couple of weeks ago for the shop to mount and balance three tires I purchased from another tire store. The price for mounting, balancing and installation was very reasonable and the owner was able to asses that one of the used four tires purchased was a bad tire. The service was quick. Given I just recently moved to PA, it was good to see small business concerns in the area contributing to ecoonomic development in the area. Overall, the experience was good. I am having two tires mounted and balanced on a classic car, today. Stan's is bout 15 miles from the suburbs, but the service and price is worth the drive. read more
