S & S Sweeper Store

S & S Sweeper Store

I dropped my vacuum cleaner (a $400 Dyson) off to this store for estimate/repair on a Wednesday…read more They wrote down my name and phone number but I got no ticket from them to prove that they had my vacuum cleaner. He just said they charge $15 for an estimate and would call to let me know what was wrong with it. By the end of the week, I had heard nothing from them. The following Monday afternoon, I still had not heard from them so I called them. I got their voicemail. I left a message asking if they had looked at my vacuum yet and to please give me a call. I never received a call back that day. Due to my schedule the next day, I asked my husband to call them to see if he could get some information from them. He did speak with the owner who told him that they hadn't looked at my vacuum yet and would call one of us once they had. Due to our schedules, my husband did not relay this information to me. The next afternoon, Tuesday, I called the store again. Each time I have called them, during the business hours, I have gotten their voicemail. I ended up leaving two separate voice mail messages. Needless to say, by this time, a week later after dropping off my vacuum cleaner, I was angry. My first thought was that anyone could have just taken my vacuum and I have no ticket or paperwork to prove I even left it in their possession for repair. My voicemail messages indicated that I thought it was inappropriate to go this long with no call back to their customer who has left messages for them. I told them that they needed to call me or my next step was to go to the police and onto social media to let people know about their sketchy business practices. The owner, finally called me back later Tuesday afternoon. She did apologize that her husband (who I dropped the vacuum off with) did not give me a ticket and that they were just very backed up and busy. I told her that I thought it was wrong to go that long, not answer phone calls during business hours, and not return calls customers had left. She said her husband would look at the vacuum cleaner and they would get back to me. This is now 24 hours later than when they spoke with my husband and told me they would look at it and get back to me. Now it is Wednesday, a week and a day after dropping it off and she called to let me know what was wrong with my vacuum. The issue with my vacuum is not even part of this so I will leave that out. I stopped into the store within an hour of her calling me. I told her my husband and I decided to just pay the $15 estimate instead of the quoted $80 to fix it (which would still leave a ppart of it unfixed as the part is not replaceable.) While she was ringing me up at the register, I apologized to her and said I did not mean to be so mean on my voicemail messages, that I was just didn't like that no one called me back. Instead of accepting the apology, she decides to one-up me and tell me she didn't like that I threatened to go to the police and social media. Because of this attitude instead of just apologizing, and the fact that they can't be bothered to answer their phone during business hours or call people back in a timely manner, I will NEVER do business with them again.

Saw the spiffy ad for Ashley Furniture in Beatrice on TV over the 4th of July weekend. I was in the…read moremarket for a new bed. Decided to drive to Beatrice have lunch and check out the store and the sales they had advertised. The store is in an old shopping mall, with other stores interspersed. Electronics and appliances in the north side. (Where the sales lady hovered 5 feet away, and every time I would look at something, she would attempt to make a comment about the item. Shoo, go away...) The Close outs in the far south side of the building in an old discount store. No one was there. The main furniture store was in the old kMart. Again, like a used car salesman, a salesperson was on our heels again. Tell them I'm looking for a 3/4 firm queen size bed. She says, here just the one for you and points me to a 3/4 soft bed. Had no idea of firmness or construction of beds. Finally found one that might work. Took her 10-15 minutes to get a price. Asked her to write the model down and I was going to lunch. Salesperson started to fill out a sales form, asked for my name (OK) and then my address (???). Inquired why, and the response was the sales document, WTF? In regards to the other furniture, I seems to be of good quality and at a reasonable price. Needless to say, I left without making a purchase. The biggest turn offs were the hovering and lack of knowledge of the salespeople.

We had the best customer service from their store manager Jenny that we just had to write about it. Ashley furniture found a great manager with Jenny. She was able to meet all our needs. The store owner is very accommodating and more than fair.
