In reality though, Carty's News is not owned by Mr. Carty, nor is it a shop dedicated solely to stories about him and his recent acting roles. Instead, Carty's News is your basic newsagent that offers a large selection of newspapers and magazines for your perusal, ensuring most publications are stocked here. They also sell the usual array of drinks and confectionary at competitive (if expensive) prices as well as stationary and 'pet goods', though those last two are in no way related to one another, thankfully. All in all, Carty's News is a pleasant enough newsagent that offers you everything you'd want in a newsagent without being too mind-blowing (but then again, what newsagents is?)

I Candy is a fairly nice little beauty, tanning, and nail salon with a lot of different services to offer at fairly good prices. So whether you want your nails, face, or nails done, or a tan--this is a one stop shop. (However, as always, be wise about fake tans. They are dangerous. And in my book, stupid. Don't do them at all is my opinion.) Pink and bright, smashed in amongst cafes and other small shops, this salon is in very short walking distance of Maghull station.
