Stanley Steemer makes your house cleaner or so the jingle goes. I've hired them twice now. Once for my home, the next for my rental property. Both times they showed up at the time they said they would and they cleaned exactly what I asked them to. The question then is... why the three stars? Well, they could be better. For one, booking with them feels oddly impersonal. You have the ease of booking on the website, but they call you the day before to confirm, and both times the person who has called me, sounded robotic. For another, you get time slots for cleanings Monday-Saturday. It's either 8 AM to 12 PM or 12 PM to 5 PM and you really never know when it's going to be in between these times. Your announcement of sorts is the cleaner calling you and telling you're they're on their way. I guess I just wish there was more pizzazz of sorts and more strict timeframes. As for the cleaning, it's never been bad. I'd even say they do make my house cleaner like the jingle goes. Still, with that type of jiggle I'd expect some sparking stuff, and well, that's only happening when I rewatch Edward Cullen from Twilight. read more

I just have to say that I paid $920 to have my laminate floors and tile floors. Nothing to do with the technicians, I was told that the floors were sealed and they couldn't clean them without stripping them and cleaning them. They did strip my laminate floor or engineered wood to its original finish but for $920 it was not worth it and I don't recommend the tile cleaning. read more

Horrible experience. I booked online but they only offered 4 and 5 hour arrival windows. Due to meetings I have for work that's too big of windows to be standing around waiting for their arrival. I text messaged I could be ok with a 9-12 arrival window and the owner, Chester White, refused it. Rude! Never use this local franchise, the owner is unprofessional and discourteous. somewhere in his training he failed the class on treating customers respectfully. The worse ever! Terrible quick job. Booked two weeks out and they still weren't perpaired. After the 4 hr window. Showed up a hour late. So had to wait 5 hrs... Over charged, double charged somethings $280. I had to call to correct it. Getting back $240. $807- $240 = $567 for a quick one guy terrible job. Waist of a lot of money. I have used Tallahassee Stanley Steemer for 20 years, for my carpet cleaning, tile, grout cleaning, vent cleaning, upholstery cleaning and today I had my auto upholstery and carpet cleaned. Every time they show up on time are friendly and professional and do a fantastic job! I was misrepresented, i was told the protective coating would keep the liquid from soaking into the carpet its been 1 week and they wont do anything to take care of it,and they should Not be represented as they are ill never use them again or recommend them to anyone.It is a total waste of money. read more

I have had the Tallahassee location clean my tile floors on multiple occasions. I use the online portal to schedule appts and have not had issue until today. My account shows I am scheduled for service with an order number as does all of the previous appts I have had. Todays service date shows completed like all previous dates however no service was performed. I contacted the office to find out why and was treated like I am an idiot. The receptionist was more concerned with explaining to me why I had to be logged into the wrong account or with the wrong company than actually helping me. (I only have one account with them). She then proceeded to tell me why if they did do service they had to charge me more money than they had the three other times they have been to my house to do the same square footage. After repeated requests she finally transferred me to Toni the Branch Manager because she was not able to help me and could not tell me why I could see things on the portal that she could not. Then during my conversation with Toni I explained to her that I have had two separate SS employees clean my house and they both charged me for a five room clean because the square footage in two of the rooms was so small. To state her response was apathetic is no exaggeration! She insisted that I had to pay more because it doesn't matter if a room is the size of a small closet, it is still a room! She said she would send someone out to do the work but would only do so if I agreed to pay more for the same work I have had done three other times. I am giving their customer service rating a BIG FAIL! I am extremely disappointed in the level of customer service from their management team. It is unfortunate that the business will lose $1000 a year from a repeat customer because people in the office forgot who really funds their paycheck. If you are reading this I recommend calling another company who works hard and will appreciate your hard earned dollar! read more

Stanley Steamer did a terrible job. As I was vacuuming my house directly after the job was finished I emptied my vacuum 3 times. Would not recommend. Would be better to by your own carpet cleaning kit and do it yourself. It took them less than 30 minutes to "properly" clean my carpet. Considering I have a very large living area. read more

I wish I had read these reviews. I too was under the impression a professional company would do a better job but as soon as they arrived, I was told what terrible shape the floors are in and what could I expect! Then, when I pointed out the dirty edges and trim, I was told they were not finished and they were an hour and a half left for cleaning. So we left for lunch and maybe 30 minutes later they called and said they were done. Well the grout didn't look much better and I was informed that it was old and that was the best that could be done. I paid them a ridiculous amount and after buying a cleaner and a brush and cleaning a section myself I know I have been taken advantage of and my grout is not clean! Well live and learn but this is the last time I would use them or recommend them. Also the main guy was rude and condescending when I questioned the results! And this was an empty house so no obstructions! read more

After reading the last review, I was concerned about hiring Stanley Steemer. However, I had them clean my carpets in 2011 and enjoyed the service guys and the work was great. My carpets continued to look good for 18 months. My experience today was the best service and excellent job. Mike Creech discussed with me what needed to be done, went over the price for the service. Andrew Crews who was working with Mike was polite and focused on his work. Both delivered professional high quality customer service and with a smile! Andrew and I were talking about the negative review on Yelp and he said "when the customer is happy you have a healthy company". Wise young man. I'm a happy customer, therefore I will be referring my friends to Stanley Steemer. Also, I will be a repeat customer. I have use Stanley steamer in the past and gotten good service , but the job I just had done was a total waste of money. The two workers showed just before lunch and were in a big hurry to get done they were at the house a total of 38 minutes and were driving out of the drive way. I called the office and the lady said she'd send someone else to do the job right . A deferent crew show up to day and informed me they would only do the really bad spots that were missed altogether which is not what the lady had said they would do. The end result is I'm out my money and still need my carpet cleaned. I cannot give a good recommendation under the circumstances. I will use a smaller local company that cares about their reputation in the future. read more

Would not recommend them at all. They cleaned the air duct ($580) but I wanted the dryer ducts cleaned. I stated that to the workmen who came to my house. They either ignored my comments or misunderstood. Later when I realized the problem, there was no attempt to remedy the problem. They offered to do the dryer vent at full price; no apologies anything. Basically, I'm out $580. An update. I called corporate who called regional who called local who called me. Everyone up the line was cordial and were responsive. Remember, it was really my fault since I didn't know what was going on. The long and short is that Stanley Steemer went up and beyond. I can't tell you how impressed I am at the immediate and cordial response. They are tops in my book. read more

OH MY GOD! What a disaster from start to finish. I hired Stanley Steemer because they were advertising a special on grout cleaning tile floors for $90 for 3 rooms. However, when I called, the intake person quoted me a different price, not based on the special. Apparently, you didn't get the special unless you asked for it by name. So, I asked for the special and the intake person refused to guarantee that price, saying that it might be more depending on how big the rooms were. I said that the rooms were in an open-floor plan and it was hard to say where one room started and another ended... living and dining room were one room, for instance. She said there might be a small adjustment. I figured it might be a little more but I nearly keeled over when they wanted to charge me over $440 for cleaning 3 rooms! They insisted on calling the kitchen 2 rooms because it has an island in the middle. They insisted that because the rooms were large that it was really like cleaning 6 rooms. The intake person never told me that anything like this could happen and I was in total shock. But, I really needed to get my floors cleaned and I felt that they had me over a barrel. So, I told them not to clean one hallway (which they considered a full room) and we agreed on a price of $275. The one and only reason that I hired a professional grout cleaner was because my white floors have white grout and over the years, the grout has gotten darkened. When they finished, the grout was a weird yellow color and it was unevenly colored. Some portions were white, some yellow, some still dark. To me, it looked worse than before. It was definitely not bright and clean. I was really horrified by the mottled coloring. I could have gotten the floor cleaner myself by just mopping it. Now, I will have to work on the grout with some bleach and a toothbrush myself, which sort of negates the whole point of getting professionals to do the job. They also left a lot of dirt and debris around the baseboards and left the hallway covered with a slime trail of dirt and debris where they dragged their hoses into the house through the garage. They left the floors wet too. But the final insult was when I gave them a check and they insisted on seeing my driver's license before they would accept it. I have NEVER had a local company do that to me in the 36 years that I have lived in Tallahassee. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

Wow, called to see how quick I could get carpets cleaned and they could come the next day, but gave me a 3 hour window for arrival...gave me the same price for 3 rooms, even though I have all the furniture moved already, no discussion, and when I asked if she could tell me when I could actually have a set time, she repeated the 3 hour window for "arrival". She didn't care at all that I hesitated and said thank you and hung up. Obviously doesn't need my business and after reading last review, glad I didn't give it to them. read more
