I took a chair to McRae's 10 months ago for refinishing. I have called multiple times to find out…read morethe status of this chair. No response. The few times they did answer the phone the owner gave me a promise that the chair was almost finished. After 10 months, I believe they have either stolen my chair or sold it. This is an extremely valuable chair. I would never recommend allowing these people to refinish anything unless you are willing to never see it again!

The booking process and service itself were great and affordable. However, there was an attempt to…read moresteal my credit card info from an employee of this business. I created a one-time use card to pay for their service and a couple of weeks later a transaction was attempted on that same card. The service tech did not have a card reader on-site and had to call in the card number. So, based on my experience, I could recommend their service, but either pay in cash or a one-time use card like mine. NOTE: I reported this to the office manager and owner and they both were very polite and apologetic (as a previous business owner and supervisor I know how frustrating a bad employee can be), but in this day and age you should have business processes in place to avoid this kind of thing. UPDATE: In less than 24 hours the office manager followed up with me to notify me of the steps they had taken, which were very thorough, including going through a compliance check with their credit card processor. Knowing they are taking the issue seriously, I feel safer hiring them again in the future. (updated rating based on their follow-through)
