I came here with my parents when they visited me in the UK on my JYA two years ago and was pleasantly surprised. Though we hit an initial hiccup getting our room, it was quickly resolved by the staff (the hotel was overbooked, which is not a good sign, but we ended up getting our rooms because the staff transferred some other customers that hadn't arrived to a sister hotel).
The accommodation included breakfast which was full English fare and it was pretty good; the portions were large and tea was included. The breakfast room was full when we came down to eat in the morning, but the way the hotel was arranged, I was surprised the place could fit that many people in the building. My folks thought the rooms were small, but this is just my American viewpoint. After spending a year in England, I realised they were standard sized.
Though the decor left much to be desired, it was very comfy and seemed quite clean.
It was also decently quiet at night despite the fact that there was no vacancy. I had a pleasant stay here after backpacking for weeks on end in various hostels around Europe (I personally don't care for hostels in London and I think I'll make reservations here on my next visit). read more
