Anyone who is a California resident can get a free library card at the front desk. They are doing a fundraiser to upgrade the place. I hope they can reopen the typewriter closets into places folks video conferences online can use. The library has a security officer that keeps the over talkative from yapping too loud and will open the locked bathroom for your use.

I came here to sign up for a new library card, the process was quick, the staff member answered all questions and even gave me a small tour and run down of how the physical and online library systems work and what services are available. This has quickly become the only branch that I will visit for my reading or research needs.

Also grabbed a Joyce Carol Oates book I somehow missed. Along with Gore Vidal's Lincoln, which I would like to read before settling into movie night with that new Daniel Day Lewis movie... probably at Redbox, judging by the list of reading materials ahead of me. Again, the selection was impressive. The shelves were nicely spaced out with librarian picks interspersed on spaces at the end of the shelves- great classics and some notable contemporaries. We attended a storytelling/ playtime class. There was singing, hand gestures and lots of toys. It was so much fun. Lots of toddlers too! I am looking forward to more activities. We also got our first library card. We now have access to several other libraries in the area. We checked out a few books. We are hoping to also join the 1000 books before kindergarten next time we go. Overall, it was clean, spacious areas for all ages.
