We…read morereturned the following week to spend a little bit of time custom painting pieces that we selected for Christmas gifts. The gnome I selected was only $12. I bought cookies from the cafe, and my girlfriend enjoyed a coffee and muffin. We spent a relaxing hour at the table, taking our time to relax and talk. Another customer joined us and we had a really nice conversation about the holidays. Our pieces were left with the shop to be fired in the kiln; a few days later, we were called to pick up our pieces. My gnome turned out greater than expected; so good that I will not be placing it on the porch with our other small plants and gnomes. My girlfriend's pieces are going to make wonderful Christmas gifts. I wish I could custom make some gingerbread men and snowmen ornaments for our relatives that lost every in the recent floods. We will be returning soon to take pottery wheel classes, and to make custom dishes. Oh,,, while painting our pieces, I noticed that the brush holder cups, the cookie plate, and several other items in the shop were handmade. This is a great way to show the practicality of making things, and the creative ideas put to use. I felt very welcomed in this place of business, and look forward to returning many times in the future. Gorgeous quality and selection of heirloom fabrics, excellent selection of threads and patterns, and tons of accessories for your machine. One day while waiting to have my fabric cut, Phil caught me eyeing a Juki. I wasn't looking for a new machine at the time, but he offered a demonstration including how to proper thread it and adjust tension (my nemesis!), then gave me a stack of scrap material to play around with. After about 20 minutes he asked how I liked it. I said it was amazing. He then said my favorite words, "and it's on sale." Sold! They have been with me every step of the way as I learned my way around the machine. Love this shop!!

Hallmark stores regularly collect ornament order lists from their customers and pull them prior to the ornament premiers to make sure the customers get their selections and make shopping easier and faster the day of the event. However, this store goes the extra mile. For example, the manager caught I had preordered the Christmas mouse third in series ornament in July but forgot to preorder the fourth in series that came out in October; she put one aside for me and saved me from missing it. Similarly, the manager tucked Eskimo accessories away for me when they came in last year because after 7 years she knows I'm Eskimo series obsessed. The manager reminds me of sales or freebies if I qualify for them and haven't remembered. For example, the manager remembered to ask me for my free ornament card when I didn't immediately pull it out, saving me from missing my band member ornament. I also love that no one ever complains when I check the condition of each ornament just in case. The store offers a plethora of cards. The store has a card for every occasion and cards that are "just because". They also have cards that are blank inside just in case you need even more personalization. Cards come in a range of price from simple $0.99 cards to more expensive cards with 3F embellishments. I also found huge cards that were measured in feet for my hillbilly dad's birthday party.
