My father in law joined my husband for the home inspection since he has built houses from the ground up and both Andy's expertise and my FIL's knowledge guided us away from making a really expensive financial mistake. Usually you hear stories about home inspectors being in cahoots with lenders and real-estate agents which is why we decided to invite my father in law. Andy made us feel protected and was there for US as our inspector. We will definitely be using him again as we continue our search for our home. Thank you so much Andy!

We were paired with the Gillis Team that postured at Remax. Great customer service, very communicative, patient, flexible hours and ultimately got us a home that we absolutely love in this hectic market. Jazlynn was our agent and we are so pleased to have worked with her. We set the budget and they assisted by providing a local lender to make our offers more palatable. This was super important due to the fact that i used a VA loan and it requires a home appraisal. Most homeowners in this market don't want to risk that. So even though this was a hard set requirement for us- she made sure to give input and advice on how to make our offers stand out. We toured about 7-8 homes and she was so great, she secured us a spot to see a newly published home first and we secured it :) highly recommend this team.

Last year we decided to get busy with a long list of renovations over which we had been…read moreprocrastinating for a very long time, the reason being the daunting challenge of finding the right contractor at a fair price. (We wanted the crew from the PBS series This Old House but they were not available.) After having several reputable local contracting firms provide estimates we settled upon Hand Construction. This decision was based upon what seemed to be a fair price, the quality of their work as we had observed at several sites in Fredericksburg, and the infectious enthusiasm of the man who was to be our point of contact and site manager, Jeff F. We hit the jackpot. Once we signed the contract, skilled and friendly craftsman of every variety began showing up and diligently setting to work, all carefully orchestrated along with the deliveries of material by Jeff. He closely managed the subcontractors and directly supervised much of the work. He visited our work site every day at least once without fail; and if we had a question or concern he was relentless in getting it resolved. We made changes to the scope of work and these were accommodated without issue. The project proceeded smoothly from start to finish with hardly a glitch. We were completely satisfied with the quality of the work which was completed on time and within budget. After six months, when one of the installed floors developed a slight problem, we contacted Jeff and he had the subcontractor on site that very day with the fix completed within a week. We are in no doubt as to whom we will call in future should we have more work. On the basis of our experience I cannot recommend Hand Construction too highly.

It was done in a timely manner with workers that were polite and showed obvious pride in their craft. Dave and Kim met with us on numerous occasions to discuss details and made interior and exterior design suggestions that were brilliant and made the flow of the home more attractive and efficient. They built from standardized plans we had found in a book it turned out beyond our dreams. The Weston's took our dreams and made them a reality. They build custom homes, not just a house. In all the years we have lived here we have never had someone walk in and not compliment the beautiful job they did. We would recommend the Weston's to anybody considering building a home.
