They polished the wood while they had it. Two to three weeks, reasonable price, no drama. David runs the operation and was easy to talk to from the first conversation. Knowledgeable, straightforward, no overselling. It's a family business -- his father is the upholsterer -- and it shows in how they treat what you bring them. I didn't fully understand how damaged it was until I got it back. Now it feels the way it was supposed to feel. Solid. Sturdy. You can sit in it comfortably without holding your breath. First we meet in the office to go over colors and fabrics. David had incredible knowledge and great suggestions of what would fit with our space and accounted for our pets. Then his people came to our home, quickly but carefully took all the chairs and bench and they were off. I was understanding and repeatedly tried to employ a solutions-based approach, but the designer doubled-down on her adversarial communication style and then pulled out of the contract entirely, leaving us even further behind deadline and out $3500. I do not like to leave negative reviews, especially for small businesses. We are all just trying to make a living and follow our passions. But after repeated attempts on my part to remedy the situation were met with adversarial communication from the company's owner, I am not left with many options. I am certain this review will elicit a highly passive aggressive response from the owner in which she will cooly detail all of the ways her company was entirely in the right and I was entirely in the wrong. This was the approach she often used in her communications with me, so I won't be surprised. All I can say is that you should be *very sure* that this designer's communication style works for you before contracting with her. If you value non-violent communication in stressful situations, however... look elsewhere.

Consumers ensure you always get everything in writing if you work with this designer, and ask for contracts so you are not bait and switched. The designer loves to text but never puts anything in formal writing, including randomly raising her fees. It is not worth the headache of trying to get your money back, finish your project, and there are more "professional designers" out there who know how to run a business and will not leave your work abandoned or prey on your vulnerability. The designer also has low problem-solving skills, does not take feedback well, and does not like being questioned about erroneous billing that cannot be substantiated. If you value your time, dignity, respect, and resources, read this review seriously before hiring. I have been around the block and now know how to spot predators. She will respond to this review in a passive-aggressive way (yawn). Rather than resolve issues or be held accountable she will spend all her time fighting. Best of luck!

My wife and I were impressed with how quickly Rebecca learned our tastes and when we decided to do the second phase, which included all new furniture, everything that Rebecca picked out was perfect-the first time. We really appreciated that Rebecca worked hard to make sure that our home looked awesome but reflected our style, not what she thought our style should be. We had a couple of furniture pieces that were passed down from my mother and grandmother that we wanted to keep. The style did not fit with our new space but Rebecca had them refinished with a more modern look that worked perfectly with our new furniture. We have been continually amazed at the Rebecca Ward Design team's ability to design spaces that we absolutely love. We bought our home in 1998 and raised both of our boys in this home and our original design was definitely utilitarian. Rebecca Ward and her assistant Leah did an amazing job on three rooms in my home. They listened to my needs and were amazing at giving me different choices and at times making changes to the plan to suit my taste. I was astonished at how Rebecca was able to integrate my great Grandmother's Asian table into the scheme as it has tremendous sentimental value to me. They asked what my budget was and they stayed within that budget. Everyone who walks into my home now are truly amazed and shocked at the transformation. Both of these designers are professional but personable too. I truly miss seeing their smiling faces once the process was finished. I would say that staging day was my favorite as they come in with all kinds of accessories that bring each room to life. I would not hesitate to hire them for another project.
