I've visited for a couple of events here over the years, the venue looks rather impressive, is spacious, and seems to host a large number of varied events, so it has versatility too. Located right in the city centre, a couple of minutes walking away from St Peter's Square, on Windmill St, the biggest issue is parking, the closest car park is NCP Manchester Central, the rates are very high, so you might be best parking elsewhere in the city centre, or using public transport, with Metrolink services stopping at St Peter's Square. Security and staff efficient and crowd management is fairly good at larger events. 4*

They weren't exactly bending over backwards to help us but they were there and they let us move chairs around and things like that. My grandmother had paid the low sum to hire out the room (to the left as you walk in) plus a buffet spread and she had booked her own DJ. The party space had tables and chairs enough for 60-70 people, more than we actually needed - it was an intimate affair - and a stage for the DJ to play from plus a "dance floor" with the private bar to the right. There were also private toilets for our party, The main social club is to the right and its a fairly nice drinking place but is not really anything out of the ordinary.

The rooms are slightly large if not a bit out dated but can fit a large number of people in. There is a fully stocked bar and it is really cheap as well for drinks. Also if you book a room for a party you can also order a buffet as well so all your guests have food. It is not much but a good idea. I would say that if you decide to hold a party here, you should book well in advance as places like these go fast!

The Bolton Albert Hall will always have a special place in my heart. I have so many memories from…read morehere! Being from Bolton originally, I have seen many shows here and danced in many shows here too! The cobbled crescent area around the Albert Hall and the large steps at the front, are some of Bolton's most recognisable features and are still looking lovely to this day. The theatre itself is lovely and the stage is a standard size (I remember almost falling off it as a dancer once, so it isn't as big as other stages I've performed on :/ ) My most recent visit here was just before Christmas at my annual Pantomime visit with all my friends. Just as much fun now as when I used to see them as a child. It's a good theatre - if you get chance to see something here, do!!

(That said, there's a 'turning-circle' just outside the main entrance, so it's possible to drop someone off if necessary). The venue itself is a typically proud municipal building -- impressive architecture, marble floors and columns (I think!), that sort of thing. As such it may not offer the most modern facilities, but it certainly passes muster for what it is. The staff are very friendly, pointing you in the right direction (necessary as it's quite easy to get lost inside!) and generally being helpful. All in all, a good place to go for a night out.

Reached easily from Quay Street as you walk down past the Opera House, there's the main studios which are huge plus a large outdoors space. It's becoming a really useful space for all sorts of events that have maybe run out of room in other locations and the indoor event 'Buy Art fair' was fantastic here - plus the outdoors has markets and foodie events like Guerilla Eats on - perfect for the large car parking space. Keep an eye out for future events and you'll know how to get here now! Supposedly there's also loads of office space with every tech company under the sun and loads of other similar creative peeps starting to take it up as a new home. The beauty of Manchester is that even though we've progressed so much with making this city even more awesome, there's still thousands of brown field sites and old venues that are being reinvented as new and cool spaces - long may it continue!

A mass has been found on the left side of my brain and is spreading. I have had treatment, but at this point I have been told its a life limiting condition. I contacted to cancel my tickets, because well, and I can use that money now to help with home costs. They replied to me that I needed to get them proof that I was 'not going to be here'. They then said that they can swap my tickets for another performance so I don't get to miss it. I am in Derby. They want me to go to London to get a sick note from my surgeon, or to download a form from ATG and then send it to my busy surgeon, get him to fill it out and send it back to me to prove it. As a last ditch attempt, the Palace Theatre Box Office was approached, and they turned around and said that if I am unwilling to follow the process with ATG, there is nothing they can do. Or alternatively I could sell my tickets on Twickets, because I am obviously well enough for that! I.am absolutely flabbergasted. Sickened. Disgusting service. This is the first review, but my family are going to leave a review on every review site, all media sites. They have the transcripts of the conversation. The low down dirty sick thing about it all though is that I paid for refund protection. Which means absolutely NOTHING. HORRIBLE INSENSITIVE PEOPLE. Never been so sickened!

Tickets to see most performances will be expensive, especially if you want the really good seats - I remember paying at least £65 per ticket for front circle for both Wicked and Lion King, but always worth it in my opinion. The Palace is an old theatre, and because of this has some amazing features! But along with that comes the fact that their is little leg room and actually finding your seats means walking down some very steep stairways.. Especially if you're in the grand tier! I see as many musicals as I can when they tour to Manchester and I always love the palace.
