Special thanks to the children who joined us in the first show to play tambourines, maracas, and drumsticks. In the second show for older children, others volunteered to demonstrate their new ventriloquial skills after choosing a puppet of their choice from the big drum case. Volunteers were encouraged to say their first name into the microphone and try moving the puppet's mouth three times as they said "One, Two, Three" with their new puppet voice. Special thanks to Mr. Jarod, the teacher who volunteered to be our HUMAN DUMMY! He wore our ventriloquist face mask, played the "ringy, dingy, thingy" and "sang" our "No Bully Zone" original song with Chelsea The Chimpanzee. (No, they did not sing at the same time... we're not that good!)

They do "homework" in daycare to ensure they are advancing academically for their age. If there is a concern, such as speech, Lisa will have a discussion to allow you to take the next step. The weekly rate of the daycare is very affordable and includes snack and lunch. Our daughter loves going to this daycare and has made many friends and is right where she should be developmentally. If you like good communication from director and teachers......don't enroll your kids here Everytime I brought up a concern I was given excuses and never given a solution If you like a big play yard free of concrete and gravel...don't enroll your kids here. Most if the kids under one are strapped in a stroller for up to an hour watching the other kids play..so sad If you like to be able to drop your kids off in their rooms in the morning.....not an option here I was here for almost a year and was frowned upon when I asked to drop my son off in his classroom. Bottom line I never felt welcome here and was always looked at differently as soon as I brought up my first concern. I enjoyed one teacher who was great with the kids but they soon cut her hours due to trying to give the kids more freedom so she moved on. I did like the young toddler teacher and was happy with the crafts they did. That was the only thing I enjoyed out of my whole experience here. I would have moved on sooner but my options were very limited. I truly hope they change things here for the kids and parents sake.

We have two kids (3yr and 18m) and they both LOVE Milestones…read more They have been attending 3x/week for just over a year and we have been incredibly impressed with how much our kids are learning and having fun. I appreciate that they use the Brightwheel app consistently to keep us updated throughout the day, and you can tell by the activities they plan that they value developmentally appropriate learning and socialization. Milestones welcomed our Early Intervention provider into the classroom consistently and took her recommendations seriously, which was instrumental in meeting our son's goals. Our Early Intervention provider also expressed how impressed she was with Milestones flexibility and willingness to try her recommended interventions. I wholeheartedly recommend Milestones to any family looking for a safe and supportive program for their little one/s!

I have never doubted my son's safety or comfort in her care; she genuinely loves these kids as if they were her own. My son is now 4, and while my son is in preschool, her flexibility to be able to watch him is beyond helpful as needed. My son has genuinely loved his experience there, and I'm deeply appreciative for her excellent levels of care and developmental encouragement for every child, no matter where they're at. She also amazingly gets kids excited about veggies, providing healthy snacks and meals. I would recommend Lisa & Musical Chairs Daycare without hesitation to any parent.

My daughter had been with Lisa since she was 6 weeks old. As of recently we have parted our ways…read moredue to a lack of communication. I dropped my daughter off one morning, with a slight cough, nothing to write home about or to keep her home. When I came home from work at 5:00 pm I came home to a very sick child. My husband had picker her up from the center and by the time I got home we had to rush her to urgent care. She had a fever of 103, and she had clear labored breathing, she was very lethargic and clearly sick. There had been no communication from Lisa saying my daughter wasn't feeling well at all that day. We had to keep my daughter home for the next several days. On the first full day back at Llisa's center, I went in to speak with her about why there was no communication about my daughter's health. Lisa proceeded to become very angry with me what I started asking why she hadn't let me know. She then told me I should have kept my child home another day, she is too busy wiping runny noses all day to talk with parents and children at the age of 15 months are ok to have a fever of 103. With the flu being so bad this year, and already have killed many children. Her clear disregard and understanding of how badly that day could have ended makes me upset. I do not recommend this place at all. My daughter has constantly been sick from this place and I regret not switching her sooner. Lisa could have really put my daughter at risk. Lisa's anger towards me and her scolding me about my concerns for my daughter is just astounding. Do not bring your kids here, stay away!

In early 2013, I was looking for child care services for my soon-to-be-born infant starting in…read moreNovember 2013. I visited several child care centers and settled on Magical Beginnings in Wakefield because they were very close to home, well-accredited, and reasonably priced. I was told that I should reserve my spot quickly before they fill up, so I sent in my deposit + application fee of $750 in late May. The deposit is non-refundable, which I figured wasn't a problem because we had every intention of using this child care center, and I figured even if something happened, they'd probably be reasonable and refund it if they were able to fill my spot (and if they weren't able to fill the spot, obviously they should keep the money). Unfortunately, something happened, and I had to relocate out of state for work and therefore couldn't use this daycare center. That's where I had a disappointing experience with Magical Beginnings. As soon as I found out in mid June, I notified Magical Beginnings that I wouldn't be able to send my daughter there. I wanted to give them as much notice as possible so they could fill the spot with a paying customer. I had only sent in my deposit a month earlier, and was giving them over 4 months notice, so I was hoping they'd do the reasonable thing and refund my deposit. In fact, when I spoke to them on the phone, they said they had a waiting list, so clearly they'd have no trouble filling the spot. I had to ask if they'd refund my deposit. I had hoped they'd just offer without me asking, since $750 is a significant amount of money to hold from me if they didn't have a logical reason to keep it. But they didn't. And after I asked (very politely), they simply said the deposit is non-refundable. I then explained why I had hoped they'd refund the deposit (again, politely), but I was just told that it's non-refundable and that they could have the director call me. Unfortunately, I never got a call, so instead I wrote an email to the director (again, very polite) with logical reasoning as to why it would be nice if they refunded the deposit. All I got was a response that they'd refund $50 with no reasonable explanation why they'd keep $700 of my money other than "it's non-refundable." They're within their rights to keep the money, since the paperwork I signed said it was non-refundable. And if I had canceled at the last minute or they were unable to fill my slot, of course it would make total sense for them to keep the money. But I gave them lots of notice. And they have plenty of time to fill the slot (and appear to have done so). And if it's worth anything, it's not like I canceled for no reason... the job relocation was sudden and unexpected. I can't speak to how well this child care center runs on a day to day basis, but I get a really bad feeling from anyone who would keep $700 of my money without a good reason. Just really disappointed in how they conducted themselves. That's a lot of money.

My daughter (now 13 months old) has been attending Magical Beginnings since she was 4 months old…read more Originally we planned to use an in-home daycare but we got a weird vibe during our test week and had to scramble to find a new place. We lucked out as MB was just opening a new infant room in Wakefield and had space. We were a little nervous as we picked MB based on our tour and interview with the director; we didn't get to meet her teachers as they hadn't even been hired yet. It was a gamble that paid off. We love Miss Katy and Miss Sue, but more importantly, so does our daughter. Even during her phases of separation anxiety, she is always calm and happy at drop-off and pickup and has big smiles for her teachers and classmates. The communication from the staff is excellent and they are very flexible. Our daughter is a very easy baby in many ways, but she likes to skip naps and got distracted during bottle feeding, but Katy and Sue have worked hard with us on those issues. They also do lots of fun activities and crafts and we have been saving her day logs and "artwork" in her baby book. Soon, our girl will transition to the toddler room; I'm impressed with the communication and planning around this step so far, but I don't know who will be more sad about my girl leaving the infant classroom: her or me and my husband.
