I would like to speak with someone...ANYONE from Big Lots in Toms River about what I found in my couch cushions but no one will return my calls or emails. We purchased some furniture back in September and since we got it there was this weird cracking sound in one of the BACK cushions on the loveseat. We jokingly referred to it as the "empty water bottle" seat whenever anyone sat there and leaned back against it. It sounded like an empty water bottle but I figured it was just part of the construction. This morning I had enough with the sound and found a zipper underneath that back cushion. I didn't realize there were zippers on those because they aren't removable so why the need for a zipper? Anyway, I unzipped and reached my hand in there and immediately felt a stinging pain. I pulled my hand out and I was bleeding. I got some gardening gloves and pulled out what was in there and it was a half of a crumpled monster energy drink can. Sharp edges and all. It seems to me that it's someone's idea of a joke and I don't find it funny at all. I've now cut myself on someone's nasty can AND I do t know what else is in my loveseat. Are you kidding me?? I could have done some real damage and I'm waiting for an explanation from Big Lots as to how the hell this crap can happen. That is so dangerous. The staff are usually very kind, they have good clothes, and it's one of the less dirty goodwills in Jersey. But the prices have almost tripled as of lately, leading to me searching for other places. Mind you, Goodwill gets these clothes for FREE. Just because something is a brand name doesn't mean it should be absurdly expensive. Why is a plain stained tank top more expensive here than at Walmart? $7!!! Stained! It's used! I understand the reseller issue, but there's a point where the inflation is manufactured. And I have a feeling it's because a lot of young people shop here as well. They also got rid of the color based discounts and pricing by weight at a certain number of clothing. Most Goodwills still follow it even if they are expensive. I even overheard the employees having to price a used Harley Davidson jacket at $75 and I bet it was extremely plain and worth $20 max. Because that's what the clothes looked like to me. I really hope they find a happy medium, because if every trip is going to be $40 every time for 5 items, I won't be coming back and I'll stop recommending it. We found Jim Dickson and his Green Life Designs team after researching several companies. Green Life Designs was very efficient, professional, and friendly. They did a fantastic job and we are very pleased. Highly recommend this company for artificial turf and customer service! It was a very simple process (for us anyway) from our first meeting with Jim where he listened carefully to what we were seeking.
