Good thing too because they turned away so many people during lunch as the place is small and completely full. The restaurant is a few minutes walk from town. The steak I got was huge and one of the best steaks I've ever had. It was so juicy and tasty. I finished it but I was really enough for 3 people. The salad that came with it was beautiful and fresh. The fries were some of the best fries I've ever had. The prices were also pretty cheap. We met a lovely retired couple seated next to us who told us they walk about 30 minutes to eat there every few months. The food is absolutely fantastic and I would definitely come back if I'm ever in Bruges again. Highly recommend and remember to make reservations or you'll be like all the sad people we saw turned away.

The quality is rather good, though. We had a starter order of fried calamari. It was hot, tender, coated in crispy panko, and served with a sweet chili sauce that may have had a touch of curry. It was utterly delicious but the serving size was a bad joke. Four rings of calamari for 13€. I don't care how amazing it tasted. That price for that tiny a serving is unacceptable. The mains fared better. Contrary to some other comments, the server did not try to upsell us or get us to order more than we wanted. The mussels in garlic were drenched in a wonderful garlic bath and the serving was entirely reasonable for one person. Of course it comes with frites, which will be refilled by the server as often as requested. I don't care for mussels so I had some challenges with the menu. I settled on the shrimp croquettes with salad (and frites, cuz Belgium). Very well prepared and quite tasty, especially the salad dressing of all things, but the filling was much wetter than I prefer. Service was competent and professional, with the server even asking if we'd like the volume of the music turned down. Definitely worth it if you like mussels. Maybe not so much if mussels aren't your thing.

The bread was actually so soft and good that we asked for more! We also enjoyed the fish soup and the very fresh oysters!

Because it was a Saturday they were pretty booked but we were able to take a table for an hour which was nice. Note- they only have bottled water, no tap water. I would love to go back to try different items on the menu. A little pricey but it's definitely an upscale kind of place.

The food is good, the beer is great, and the coffee was just what I needed. We sat outdoors in the immense outdoor dining area, as did most people. We originally planned to get a coffee and head off but the vibe was pleasant and we were hungry after the coffee so we decided to order some lunch. We started with the nachos. OK, to be fair, these are not nachos, they are simply chips and guacamole, but they were good and plentiful to share for three. I ordered the buddha bowl, hubby ordered the Sandwich beetrootspread, and our friend ordered the eggs benedict with added smoked salmon. Everything was super good. I did think the rice in the Buddha bowl was a bit over cooked, but it was pretty minor. As with practically every place in all of Belgium, the beer selection was great and you really cannot get a bad beer here. At least, that was our experience. I ordered the Liefman's Fruitesse, a kreik (cherry) beer and really enjoyed it. It was light and not at all sweet. Since we arrived here in the morning, I thought it best to keep it light. Day drinking sounds great until you hit the afternoon wall. Don't forget to check out the bathrooms where you will find super awkward, cringe and yes, funny gender indicators. I took a quick tour around the very spacious interior and think it would be really nice to hang out here when COVID is no longer a threat. We really enjoyed ourselves and would certainly return should we find ourselves in Bruges again.

My family got the Filet Mignon and they all liked theirs and they were cooked to order. I got the Kangaroo steak (see photo). Everything was tasty. The Kangaroo is likely a dish I wouldn't get again as it just wasn't my thing. Perhaps it was just the sauce/gravy and the Kangaroo was good. I'm not sure. Service was a little slow and the restaurant wasn't that busy. I just don't think they were in a rush for anything. This is not necessarily a bad thing, just an observation.

The interior is basic and so is the food but I have to say the service is excellent, they are very friendly! We ordered the 'special' breakfast which comes with cheese, ham, jam, fruit juice, fruit salad, pastries and coffee/tea, so everything you would expect there to be was being served but because it was served within 1 minute of arriving it felt a bit canteen-style. I also think that almost everybody else who was having breakfast had a special coupon (like Bongo or Groupon), so that also added up a bit to the canteen feel. I believe the breakfast was 12EUR per person so really good value for money. Even though the food and service was ok, the canteen feel makes me not want to go there again myself. But if you are in the neighborhood and looking for good value I would recommend this place.
