There is a car park up on the cliffs and then it's just a ten minute walk down to the beach from there. There is a wide promenade at the top of the beach, many steps and one ramp. This is a wonderful large sandy beach, absolutely unspoilt and perfect for a day out, especially in…read moregood weather. It's about a five minute walk from the car park and this path is wheelchair friendly too. There is a long grassy headland on either side of the beach and rocky cliff paths to explore. In fact, if you take the east one it will take you eight miles or so around to Tenby; great for hardened hikers - I only walked a small fraction of that route the other day! A short way along the cliff path on the same headland is a fascinating Neolithic burial chamber. The beach is overlooked by a large medieval castle which was the birthplace of Gerald of Wales. The whole area is great for walking or just sitting on the soft sand to hear the sea - which is apparently great for surfing too, so I'm told! The most amazing thing about this beach is the fact that it is seldom crowded even in good weather. Good surf - lots of fun. There is plenty of beach even during high tide. The beach is very long and there is a path along the top of it (Pembrokeshire Coastal Path). Fairly long path that winds down to it with lovely views (takes about 5-10 mins, so no hardship), full of interesting flowers and insects. Saw an amazing butterfly we've not seen before (trying to find it on the internet). Park in National Trust carpark, £2 or free with membership. Very nice ice-creams sold here from a van at the weekends. YHA here too. With loos!

So worth it if you love wallabies and feeding animals. Also I have not known any other zoo/park that has a wallabie walkthroug. Manor House also has many experiences that you can pay additonal cost for by pre booking so I booked and paid for a VIP encounter with a tapir. They were lovely. I especially loved brushing them and tickling their bellies. So sweet. The keeper as well was a very lovely girl and very knowledgable. Wildlife Park is very clean and spacious. Highly recommend.

I always remember…read morehaving a great time here, and visiting here while on vacation with my husband recently was no different. The park is under new ownership (since I last visited 30+ years ago), and everything is very clean and well presented. The walk around the park was just amazing and all the animals looked very happy and well-cared-for. Many of the animal habitats are accessible to people for petting or simply getting up close and personal. There are "wallaby-bites" available at the front entrance gate for feeding the wallabies. Many of the wallabies had their babies in their pouches and wouldn't come near, but they were so beautiful to watch! When we entered the Flemish rabbit area, one of the rabbits ran straight up to us for attention and petting :) I love that there are hand-washing stations with lots of signage at the exits to all animal habitats. It's a small park, in the middle of rural Wales, so the variety of animals is not the same as you'd find at a larger zoo, but my husband and I still had a wonderful time. The keepers were feeding the meerkats as we entered that area, and the keepers stayed and spoke with the crowd of people that had gathered to watch. It was clear that the animals in the park are treated with respect and great care by the keepers. My husband and I had an awesome time that day, well worth the admission price of 11.95 British pounds each.

This is possibly one of the best beaches in Pembrokeshire. You can get to in either via the…read morenational trust car park on to of the hill which then has steep steps going down to the main beach or (my favorite) you can take a stroll through Bosterston Lily ponds and take in the the views. It's about a mile or so walk up and down dale though so not for the faint hearted. The water is usually crystal clear so bring your swimming togs.

This place is so full of good times and memory that it's a little obscene…read more The expanse of this place always surprises me, as it's fairly tucked away (although very well signposted), and not all that well known, compared to Drayton Manor and Alton Towers. But this is an equally good day out, I would argue. There is a good selection of thrill-seeking rides, such as Megaphobia (mentioned by the lovely Yee Gan), Vertigo and Bounce. But for those of use, myself included, who would rather eat a live cobra, there are plenty of less strenuous activities to chose from. A series of water slides is great fun - although perhaps favourable in warm weather. My personal favourite is Treetops, a mini roller coaster through the trees, like a really exciting walk through the country. This is a fantastic place to bring kids of all ages, and adults, I promise, will most certainly not go wanting.

It's a medium sized park…read moreand you may be wondering how it pulls its punters in as it's a long way to travel to get here. Well, among UK coaster enthusiasts, there's just one word to explain this - Megafobia. It's an awesome wooden roller coaster that delivers on speed, drops, and airtime all the way round the ride. Many have rated it their favourite ride in the UK. I have a soft spot for woodies and it may well be my favourite woodie in the UK though as few woodies at Blackpool Pleasure Beach may run it close. There are 2 other big rides in the park. The newest ride is Speed, a steel coaster which was the first in the UK to have a greater than 90 degree first drop. To be honest, being greater than 90 degrees doesn't really add anything much but it does have 2 great pops of airtime along the ride. The other big ride is Hydro, a water ride which unfortunately drew headlines for the wrong reasons when a girl died a few years ago when she fell out of the ride 100 feet up. It's a water flume ride with a crazy drop and don't forget to stand on the splash bridge. The rest of the park is pretty basic with Bobsleigh the only other ride of note. It's the only bobsleigh ride of its kind I know where riders ride on little sleds along a metal bobsleigh course. One price gets you into the park and onto all rides except for Vertigo, the skydiver experience. For an airtime junkie like me, Megafobia is awesome but it is a long way to come.

The Pembrokeshire Coast Path is the most amazing place to walk. In the last two years we've had the…read moreopportunity to explore just a tiny part of the coast path, both around St Davids and Whitesands. The views from walking above Whitesands are just amazing with the cliffs and isles out along this part of the coastline. Good walking boots are an essential as, though this part of the path is very well maintained, there are narrow areas and it would be easy to turn an ankle wearing trainers, sandals. The cliff tops are decorated by beautiful coastal flowers and plants, which delicately scent the air.

Pembrokeshire is the only coastal national park in Britain and if you were to do the entire path it…read morewould take you along 186 miles/ 299 km of stunning clifftop scenery with beaches very similar to those in quieter parts of Cornwall. If you were to do the whole thing it would take you 12 or 13 days, but it is easy to break it into segments and do it over several visits. Some of the sights you might see, depending on the time of year, include wild flowers, dolphins, seals, Norman castles and ancient churches, including the remarkable St. Govan's chapel. This minature 13th century chapel is wedged into a tiny chapel on a steep cliff and is definitely worth a visit if you have an interest in ancient sites. There is some spectacular scenery in the area, although it is very close to a military camp. Anyway, that was another slight digression, as we visited the chapel on another day. The walk we did was around 12 miles and took us from Bosherton Lily ponds (a large area of ponds, which are more like lakes which if you time it right will be full of Monet style lilies) back to Lydstep. The walk was stunning, taking in some fabulous beaches, including Barafundle bay, an award winning site, Broadhaven South, Little Haven and Manorbier. As well as beaches there are some amazing limestone areas, castles a few stop off points with tea houses or friendly pubs, wild ponies and blowholes. The walk was tiring, it was an unseasonably warm day and there were far too many ups and downs for my liking, unsurprisingly I suppose for a cliff top walk but I'd definitely do it again.
