We never had any complaints, and when something was required to have repairs it was done promptly and proficiently. Bob was professional and fair. We would recommend renting from him and his property management group.

From the first day when we met, when he picked me up on campus during my welcome weekend visit and drove me to a wide variety of his properties, I was impressed by his care and his desire to make sure I found a place to live where I was really happy. The apartment I rented was exceptionally well-maintained, and I lived there the entire 3 1/2 years I was in Ann Arbor. Every time I called Bob, he answered the phone. And anytime I needed a repair or regular maintenance, his warm and friendly staff (the wonderful Al and Tony), arrived within the hour. Whenever I called Bob, he asked how I was doing, and it took me a while to realize he was really asking and really wanted to know. And once, when I was horribly sick with the flu and I had to be on campus until 10 p.m. and I had a flight at 6 a.m. the next morning and my car was snowed in, I called Bob to tell him of my predicament and ask if he knew anyone I could call for help, and he sent over his crew to shovel me out, just out of kindness. I felt cared for and taken care of by the folks at Arbor Properties. I'll miss them, and I give them my highest recommendation.

We worked with Judie Wu from January through April 2025. We viewed several homes together, and she generally seemed patient and low-pressure. However, one incident left us deeply shaken and ultimately caused us to end the relationship. In April 2025, we viewed a home that appeared to meet all of our needs, and we decided to make an offer. During the process, Judie repeatedly told us that the property was popular and that we would need to offer above the asking price to have a chance of getting it. We declined to do so and decided to submit an offer at the asking price. She then sent us the offer documents to sign. On a whim, I searched the homeowner's name online and discovered news reports stating that the owner had been murdered in that same home only a few months earlier during a home invasion. The reports also indicated that the alleged perpetrator lived nearby. When we confronted Judie, she cited a law stating that sellers were not required to disclose this type of information. While that is true, she was representing us as the buyers. We were extremely disturbed that this information had not been shared with us, particularly while we were being encouraged to bid above the asking price. We immediately terminated our buyer representation agreement and ultimately stopped our home search. This experience seriously damaged our trust and left us feeling that our interests had not been adequately protected.

This is the worst real estate experience I've had after working on deals in several states. The General Manager was only interested in trying to cover up an unethical practice rather than seeking to improve and rectify poor performance. It is stunning that two agents from the same company would not work together, and in fact openly feud with each other and the General Manager would not seek to address the issue. A previous agent from the company had contacted us and indicated that Nancy Bishop had a bad track record of poor dealings with clients, but the general manage wasn't interested in addressing that issue. I would strongly encourage you to seek another real estate firm as you look to buy or sell real estate in Ann Arbor.

Buying a home, particularly the first time around, can be a daunting, somewhat harrowing…read moreexperience. Luckily for my partner and I, we were in capable hands. Jon Gordon helped my partner connect with the perfect commercial/studio space earlier in the year. So when the time came to jump into the market for a home, we immediately thought of him. Jon mostly handles commercial properties, and is also an associate broker, so we weren't sure if he would take up our cause or pass us along to another agent. We were happy when we heard that he would indeed be our buyer's agent. We knew from the start that we had a good "gut feeling" about Jon -- he seemed to have enough experience in the business to know all the ins, outs, and everyone around town, but he also seemed honest, up-front and on the level, something I haven't always sensed in my interactions with other agents. Throughout the process, we were glad to have Jon representing us and going to bat for us. He was a great listener and plenty personable, but could get tough when the situation called for that approach. And, of course, the situation did at times. We honestly could not have been happier or had a better guide through the process of first-time home ownership. After this positive experience as well as the positive experience with my partner's commercial space, I'd recommend Jon or any agent on his team that he personally recommended in a heartbeat.

He was very flexible with us, i.e. was willing to list our house for more than he thought it would get and was willing to put in an offer on a new house for much less than the asking price. After we closed on both houses, he went out of his way to take care of a small issue we had with our new house. Just to be clear--he had already received his commission, but he still went way out of his way to help us out. At some cost to himself. We would definitely work with him again. He's a really good, decent human being.

I am writing this long overdue review for J Keller Properties. My partner and I have been with J…read moreKeller for almost a year now, and it was one of the best and luckiest decisions we made. We had previously been with another property management company for ~5 years, and we lost A LOT of money while with them. We are very trusting, but over time we couldn't trust them, as they're accounting was horrible. Hey couldn't understand the simplest of requests. They used antiquated systems, and we would get statements 1-2 months late. It was just horrible. We knew it was time to change, and to be honest we didn't think there would be a huge difference between management companies. We interviewed 5 places. One place has been in the business for a long time, but he was too arrogant, and the others were nice but didn't seem to do anything extremely special. We settled on one, not J Keller at first, and then Jon convinced us to just give his company a shot so we switched last minute. We were impressed by his motivation and professionalism. We can only thank Jon tremendously now for convincing us to go with him because for the first time in years we are in the black. He is honest, organized and uses updated technology for accounting. His team is excellent at communication, and we trust them 100%. We were at API t where we couldn't afford the losses we were taking when with the other management company, but we have now decided to keep the properties since with J Keller they are in excellent shape, and we finally have cash flow. You have to be crazy not to go with J Keller, and I say this after being a landlord for over 10 years and having worked in the Ann Arbor real estate business. I know who the other companies are, and J Keller is head and shoulders above them all.

Maintenance requests have always been responded to promptly, the leasing process was clear and organized, and any questions that have come up over the last couple of years have been answered within 24 hours. I've found management respectful and supportive. In terms of the property itself, the communal areas are well-maintained (snow shoveling, salt in the winter in hazardous areas, gardening in the spring to clear up dead brush, laundry facility cleaned a couple of times a year by management, etc.). During my time here, each of one washer and drier (there are two each in the building) slowly stopped working, and each was replaced with a new machine promptly. Many thanks to the Michigan Rental team for a positive experience these last two years!

They took forever to respond to our emails, and just about the only good thing they did was send over maintenance in time, but maintenance wouldn't be needed if they actually repaired certain portions of the house. After moving out, they lied about half the claims and took a large portion of our security deposit after waiting a whole month after we moved out to send out the check. Don't rent with this company! They don't do any repair or maintenance on their house and they want to take every single penny from college students who have nowhere else to live. What they do is absolutely evil!
