Earlier this week, I sent an inquiry email to info@stillwater.care, which is the contact listed on the website. Nowhere on the site does it state that this email is reserved solely for emergency or urgent matters. Unfortunately, I was met with a deeply rude and dismissive response, and my message was referred to as "junk mail" simply because it was sent to the wrong address. As a professional and as a parent, this interaction was concerning. If this is how a provider responds to someone respectfully offering a community resource, it raises questions about how prospective clients or families seeking services may be treated. As a counseling center, communication should be met with professionalism, politeness, and grace. I strongly encourage this practice to clearly update their website and email listings to specify which email addresses are intended for urgent inquiries, referrals, or general contact, to prevent future misunderstandings.

I was trying to schedule a family therapy session with my husband and mother, and it took weeks of repeated calls and emails to even get someone on the phone to schedule an initial intake session. Once I was finally able to reach someone, my husband, mother, and myself coordinated our busy schedules and scheduled an intake with Dr. Mack via the group's intake coordinator. We showed up the next day for our virtual session, each from different locales, and then waited. And waited. No one ever came on and no one called us. I called the practice after about 15 minutes to see if something had happened, or perhaps I had gotten the time wrong, and I reached a receptionist or intake coordinator, who said they would try her and get back to me. We waited another 20 min and then I called again and was told, "I haven't reached her. All I can do is call and leave her messages." No attempt was made to reschedule us or to discuss next steps. We finally all signed off in disappointment. No one has made any contact with us since then to explain what happened that day or to attempt to reschedule the appointment. This happened a week ago, so there's been ample time to make contact since then. As a clinician myself, I would never allow this to happen and not follow up in some way, especially with a new client who I hadn't developed a relationship with yet. We will NOT be trying to reschedule and I certainly will not be recommending this practice to anyone else.
