Great thrift shop benefiting the community. Located in an older home in the Tyler brick street area. Lots to choose from. Cash only.

I admit I haven't visited Salvation Army until the last couple of months, and I have to say I was…read morepleasantly surprised. Their store is full of furniture and hidden treasures that set it apart from other stores similar that I have visited in the past. I also found the customer service to be refreshing as I see that is lacking throughout many businesses I visit on a daily basis. I always make a point to read the reviews from others from which I do not solely take to heart because I like to see things from my own experience and perspective. Perhaps others have had bad experiences in the past, and that is unfortunate. With that being said, from my own, I encourage you and others to come back and tell others that Salvation Army doesn't stand for that and they are doing a lot of great things out there, including making changes for the greater good! I know. I sound like a spokesperson. I just know they helped myself and my family when we really needed it. Thank you, Salvation Army.

This is my 2nd review of this Salvation Army. I've now shopped there for 5 months. The staff behind…read morethe counter are friendly and helpful. I genuinely like them; however, a recent experience made me rethink my review. Normally, I purchase stuff there. This time I wanted to make a donation so I spoke to the manager. The vibe was that they didn't want anything I might have to give. I recently had a shed torn down that was filled with the former home owner's stuff. She was 96 y/o when she died. There were many items...Vintage tools, Garfield collectibles still in their package, a 1940's croquet set, a valuable antique print, Christmas stuff, and so forth that I wished to donate. The manager didn't seem to want my things. She wasn't very positive. Said the croquet set would end up all over the store and mentioned that tools are often stolen from their location. ??? I ended up donating my stuff to a different thrift store. They seemed happy to get these items. I still like shopping at this S.A., but will donate elsewhere.
