No music, which means a faster service. Many cannot or are not willing to sacrifice their precious time on the weekends, I understand, they are bogged down with work, "ME" time is a luxury. In this case though, no music means faster service. Very few in attendance. We went and there weren't many in the pews, so seating was plenty, and parking was available for about 30 cars. Between lunch and dinner. What are you doing at 3:30 on Saturdays? Why not shower after the morning chores and get to a fast mass before the start of the evening? No baskets passed. Ever been to a church mass and had no money to offer? Hate the looks you think you're getting for not giving alms? -You aren't getting any, but I too have felt it. At this mass the basket is in the back, feel free to drop your offerings in without others watching. Give what you can... One other thought. Haven't been in forever? The preacher leads the mass. You are walking out before you even get embarrassed for forgetting a few lines of prayer. I have to say, if you missed it and are feeling guilty, go. Hey just a side note, the college across the street was not in session, so there may be a few more students in attendance.

My only minor issue is that I wish that the head priest (Fr. Mike) were more serious during the Mass and homilies. He constantly jokes throughout, which gets a little annoying and distracting when you are trying to be in the right frame of mind for Mass. He is very kind, but I think he goes a little overboard with the joking. Overall though, this is a very nice and welcoming Church and if you live in the area, it's a great parish to grow your faith.

Church hunting isn't easy and you will never find a perfect church but the most important thing is definitely there: the word of God. They recently got a new pastor who really delivers the word well! I had the chance to speak to him and it seems that he used to be a youth pastor which may contribute to why I feel very engaged in the teachings and always come out feeling like I have really learned something. Now the church does have more of an older crowd and the worship portion is not what I am used to coming from a more contemporary background but I definitely encourage EVERYONE to come in and check this church out! p.s. the people are all very welcoming :)

My son and I were there for a baseball game, and we needed to use the restroom (none were visible outside). We began approaching the school, and a gentleman who represented the chuch (perhaps the Pastor), prevented us from using the bathroom (verbally and by standing in front of the door). He said there should be other facilities elsewhere and to go use them. Again, this is a public high school, of which the church is using only a part. Be careful...if this is indicative of their approach, I would be highly suspect of their integrity, authenticity, and relevance to religious teaching.
