My kids couldn't even read and they were in second grade. I transferred them to keystone and by April my kids have surpassed their grade level reading and now are at the top of the class. This school does NOT take bullying. I've seen several kids get suspended/expelled for fighting and bullying in general. Every school is going to have its pros and cons but this school is absolutely one of the best for curriculum, and attention to detail when teaching you're children. I strongly feel that if you have the chance to send you're children here that they would benefit from not only educational but morally too. This is the best school for lots of children and these schools vary based on each individual school so judging all based on one won't work. You'll have to see for yourself! Truly great school!! I wouldn't send my kids anywhere else. If I could give them 10 stars I would definitely go above and beyond because that's the kind of school they are! This is a review of the gymnasium and athletic facility only, not the school itself as I never…read moreattended. Let's start with the gym, it's huge! Which is great to go watch a basketball game, or a wrestling match where they are able to get three full mats on the floor, plus have space to move around. It's well lit for photography too. The facility is top notch. My only complaint is that because of the large space, sounds echo a lot, so when the band decides to strike up a tune, Watch out!! The noise gets a little out of hand, but I'm sure that's great for the home court advantage. Moving outside to the stadium ... It's one of the best facilities in the state for football, soccer, baseball, softball you name it. There are two beautiful fields for baseball and softball that are both well maintained and a pleasure to watch a game at. The real gem is the "football" stadium where football and soccer are played. The field is astroturf, but well kept up. The stadium itself is gorgeous, with a fantastic sounds system, lots of space in the bleachers and a roomy press box. You can't ask for a better set of athletic facilities at a public school.

There are a wide variety of classes you can take, which is pretty cool. You're able to try different classes out, and see what peeks your interest. There are a lot of helpful teachers here. They all care about educating your child, and helping them learn life lessons along the way. This is one of the reasons saline high school is ranked so high in the state rankings. There are a few issues with this school. The lunches are nearly indigestible, which happens at all schools. The biggest problem is the students here. A lot of them come from affluent backgrounds (not all), and that seems to get to their head. All in all, this is a great school to send your children. They will learn a ton here.

As a social worker I spend a lot of time going in and out of Detroit public schools. I see some…read morethings that really make the hair stand up on the back of my neck. And then, occassionally, I see a few gems. This school is one of those gems. UPA and University Prep High School both use project-based learning so that kids can really focus on the things that interest them. All students do regular internships which are supervised by a local field instructor and a teacher (they get school credit for the internship). This gives them a chance to refine their interests and get exposed to the work world. But, a few things to note. UPA is a bit overrated in terms of it's academic rigor. Although it is a world above most of the DPS schools I visit, not all graduates are going to be prepared to start at a mid-range or top tier university. I've seen kids advanced from grade to grade (particularly in math) who really don't have the basics down well enough. And, another important thing to remember about UPA is that their teaching approach does not work for all students. Some kids need a lot more structure and will flounder when given so much academic freedom and responsibility for their own education. Parents of UPA students need to stay in close contact with the teachers and review their student's work on a very regular basis. Overall, this is a great school. The campus is well laid out, the rooms are clean and things are in repair. There's not a lot of violence. The teachers and staff are very good at communicating with parents and they take a personal interest in their students.
