I've been training with the founder of The Body Shoppe, Jodi Hebert, for about two years now, and…read moremy experience has truly been life-changing. I first met Jodi through group fitness classes at a big chain gym many years ago, and her classes stood out immediately. Unlike the prescribed, predictable routines of most group classes, Jodi's classes reflected her experience as a competitive athlete and her passion for innovative, plateau-busting workouts. I was hooked.
Last winter, Jodi decided to fulfill a dream of hers: to open her own training center, The Body Shoppe. The center offers private, small group, and larger boot camp-style classes that reflect Jodi's distinctive philosophy and approach to fitness. The facility is well-organized, clean, and the perfect space to build your body while making good friends. Every trainer who teaches at The Shoppe is hand-picked and brings impressive experience, unique skill sets, and inspiring workouts.
I've taken classes at The Shoppe (Monday through Thursday classes are for the whole body and Friday is a Squat Shoppe that focuses on the lower body) since it opened, and the changes I've seen in my body almost defy description. I have never worked so hard, felt so proud of myself, or experienced such profound changes to my body. Apparently, I do have abs! Yes, fellow mothers with that post-baby pooch, I am 40+, have found my abs, and I have NEVER felt so good in my own body. Jodi, who has over a decade of experience in the fitness industry, and the trainers she brings in to The Shoppe are truly master trainers. They have helped me change my body and my outlook on life in ways I never thought possible.
Once you've experienced The Body Shoppe (the first class is free!), you will never settle for less. No two workouts are the same, so there's no boredom or plateauing, and each workout is tailored to fit and push each student on an individual basis every day. Jodi and her team are consummate professionals - always on time, organized, prepared, and able to deal with whatever issue arises in class. Despite all you get out of a class, prices are affordable ($12 per class or $100 per month for unlimited group training), so you're paying group class prices for what feels like a personal training experience. New classes are being added this fall, so check out the website for class times and descriptions: www.thebodyshoppe.fit.
Perhaps most importantly, Jodi and her team care about you as a person, about how classes are working for you, how you are balancing diet, sleep, and recovery. Fitness is their passion, and they lead by example. The trainers are committed to continually improving their practice, and they happily share their significant knowledge and expertise when asked.
One of my favorite quotes from Fred Devito is "If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you." I encourage and challenge YOU to start Shoppe-ing immediately!
