    I lived there for 3 years. You are going to pay a lot of money to live in a low class community The whole place smells like dog piss and poop (in part this is the neighbors fault). But they could also do a better job keeping the place clean We paid a pet $500 deposit and were told that an additional $50 a month fee will apply to us for having pets, they did not offer to refund the deposit. They took all the grills from the pool and sent letters/emails addressing that we couldn't have grill outside. Even when the agent told us it was ok to have them. He probably just wanted to do his job and get the lease signed. So have fun paying $3.5k to not even being able to grill The trash is always flooded and it smells all over the parking lot On top of that our 1 year old son had cough all the time we lived there. There were signs of mold, especially when the mushrooms grew up to 3 inches high all over the garage and the downstairs laundry room and they refused to do a thorough testing. So I went a head and got one just to find that there were spores coming from the vents, because they weren't being clean. So my son was sick all that time mainly due to their negligence. If you can't find anywhere else to live then go for it and GL, but if you definitely have options you should choose carefully

    Updated to add: I think the saddest part of this whole thing is that the Artisan has ignored us for…read moreover a year, despite sending us to collections for bogus charges. No one came to our move-out inspection, no one answered any of our calls or emails when we were moving out and after we received this absurd bill and reached out to the Artisan to request to meet in person to have a dignified discussion like adults, we were told it was out of their hands and they couldn't speak to us any longer. It's amazing how less than 12 hours after posting a negative review on the internet they suddenly become so available and want to be of service, as though they haven't been the ones orchestrating the nightmare the entire time! You want to know how you can help? You can stop spending all day on Yelp writing fake reviews of the Artisan, return our security deposit and clear our bill. Original post: If I could give zero stars, I would. Living at the Artisan Apartments was one of the most stressful and disappointing housing experiences of my life. We have tried to resolve things with them peacefully, but for some unexplainable reason, they have sent us to a collections company, years after living there, even though we already had a lawyer send a cease and desist formally opposing bogus move-out charges and demanding the return of our security deposit. Staff ignored this contact and now a year later we are being contacted by collections to collect on absurd move-out charges that we already told the Artisan we have photographic and video proof to show that their alleged charges are not true. We are now forced to take legal action and I want to make sure the community is aware of the hazards that exist at the Artisan Laguna Beach. Habitability Issues * Our unit was plagued by rodent infestations throughout the building. * Plumbing and water problems were never fully addressed after a massive 2021 flood that displaced many tenants. These issues made units unsafe and unhealthy for years afterward. * We endured living beneath aggressive pit bulls that created daily noise, safety concerns, and contributed to the property feeling unlivable. Management was fully aware but chose not to act. Shady Billing & Move-Out Practices * Despite giving over 30 days' written notice and leaving on time, Artisan tried to charge us $3,052 in "rent" for June-July 2024 -- even though a new family took over our apartment on June 28th. In other words, they attempted to double-charge rent for a period when they were already collecting from another tenant. * We hired a professional cleaning crew ($300) and left the unit sparkling clean. We also thoroughly documented the condition with photos and videos. Yet, Artisan slapped on bogus "cleaning" and "carpet" fees anyway. * Their own invoice shows they returned our $500 security deposit -- which directly contradicts their claim that these extra charges were justified. If cleaning and repairs were truly needed, they should have deducted from the deposit with documentation, not tried to invent new charges afterward. Dishonest Corporate Practices * When we disputed the charges, even Greystar's own accounts payable staff admitted the information from the property "wasn't exactly clear" and said they'd dig further. We never heard back -- instead, the balance was dumped into collections a year later. * Collections harassment continues despite the clear contradictions, the unresolved dispute, and the fact that their practices violate California tenant protection laws (Civil Code §1950.5 and §1941.1). Bottom Line Artisan/Greystar will: * Ignore major safety and habitability problems. * Charge you for things you don't owe, even while returning your deposit. * Try to double-collect rent. * Push disputes into collections instead of resolving them. Do yourself a favor: stay far away from this place. There are plenty of other apartments in the area where management respects tenants, follows the law, and provides safe, livable housing. Artisan is not one of them. I've included a few photos to show a sample of what living there was like but have many more.

    I'm extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled…read more Despite your response trying to justify your policies, the reality is your team called a tow truck and attempted to take my car, which is completely unacceptable. This wasn't about "fair enforcement" -- it was aggressive, unnecessary, and handled without any consideration or proper communication. Hiding behind "permit policies" doesn't excuse poor judgment or lack of basic respect for residents. Situations should be handled with professionalism and common sense, not by immediately escalating to towing. To anyone considering moving here: be very careful. Management does not prioritize residents, and situations can escalate quickly over minor issues. This has been one of the worst experiences I've had with apartment management. I would not recommend living here.

Firstly, I'd like to mention that Dianne, the manager, in my opinion, her discernment, attention to detail, understanding, and gift of Doing what it takes for each resident to have a wonderful residential living experience here. The front office team: Anastasia, Bridget, they understand my daughters' and the other residents that may have special needs, handicapped, etc. In a realistic, professional manner. For example: They respect and uphold peoples privacy. Would also like to give a shout out to the maintenance team, Abel, Ignacio, and Isaac have a very positive report with the tenants. For example: when our microwave was having functional issues. It was readily replaced the next day. We are highly considering renewing our lease, when given the opportunity.

Overall, I have been extremely happy with the service they have provided. Truthfully, I had never rented my home before and was unsure what would be required or involved. Luckily, Legacy Property Management came thru in every way and has made the entire process seamless for me. My initial contact with Legacy Property Management started with Steve coming out to my property to personally discuss my needs regarding my home that I wanted to rent out. He was super helpful and answered all my questions as well as walked me thru the entire rental process. LPM was the only management company that offered to meet in person as the rest that I had called wanted to give me "estimates" over the phone without having ever seen my home. Steve was very personable and was someone I felt comfortable chatting with. Afterward, I've been very fortunate to work directly with Wayne who has been fantastic. He is a professional and very knowledgeable and you can tell he has many years experience in this industry. He promptly answers my email concerns / questions. He has been on top of my tenants requests and reaches out to me when only absolutely necessary. Otherwise the entire process has been hands off which is exactly what I wanted. Now that the 1st year is almost done, he's been proactive on the renewal process and provided his professional recommendation on next steps. Also I have to add that Wayne made the tax season easy for me and provided all the necessary documents promptly. I highly recommend Legacy Property Management to manage your home rental. I definitely stand by my 5 star rating.
