A very special place…read more The building is unique, the teachers are caring and professional, and the school has a community-like vibe that I simply have never seen in a school before. It is so warm and inviting. The students have a meeting in the morning-with the whole school-and teachers and students are congratulated for their hard work as individuals and groups. This isn't just for those kids with the best grades but for kids who have made great progress or done kind acts as well. Its a very compassionate place. This is a diverse school and allows many opportunities for all kids. The wonderful field trips, extracurriculars, and interesting classes/lessons that are added in can really motivate kids. Learning to make pottery, playing the drums, or performing in school plays can give kids a neat push and help them learn to work towards their goals. The principal and vice principal are wonderful and really involved. They visit the classrooms and the kids know who they are. Students are encouraged to think critically. This is how all schools should be!

I do not know where I would be if she didn't help I was to the point to K12 my son and because of her welcoming attitude and none stop help we ended up leaving him at. Green valley . Shes the type of employee that should train most of the staff at any school . I tried to get Miss Jackson to help because I'm a single mom and that's what social workers do I called to introduce myself and ask to book a appt so we can go over my recourses and she pretty much shined me off like shes to busy to help out this single mom didnt even give me the chance to tell her my issues and totally brushed me off ! Made me feel like a burden !!

Many of the teachers passed right by me in the hallways, and never said "Hello" "How are you" "Hi" "Good morning" or anything else. They never smiled, and some looked me right in the face and turned their heads while passing me in the hallways. They are just plain pathetic! They seldom ask if you need any help when you are a substitute. I will NEVER go back. That school is simply DEPRESSING and the environment is unwelcoming. I couldn't wait to leave. The vibe in the school is sickening to your stomach. Half the teachers seem as if they are oppressed, depressed, unhappy, and evil. Now, let me talk about the Principal. Not one time did she ever greet me, say hello, or even said "Thank you for coming." As a matter of fact, she stood right next to me as I was checking out one day, and NEVER said a word. She acted as if I didn't even exist, and she started talking to others. In my opinion, she acts like she is a GOD at Thomas Jefferson, not knowing that her nasty, unprofessional, disgusting attitude towards others makes her look like a complete jerk!! The students at the school had better attitudes than the teachers. No wonder they always have a hard time getting substitute teachers there. Again, I will never go back.
