The kids know my name and what I stand for. It is much easier to gain respect when it's not you against multiple grades in one single building! Allows for variety - you spend one school year with the students, then they're off to high school, and a new batch comes thru.

I learned a lot, not just about reading, writing, and arithmatic, but about social skills, music, and art, too. I'm not sure what the school is like anymore. The building I knew and grew up in was demolished in 2006 and replaced with what appears to be a smaller, more "modern" facility. I just remember being a student and loving every second of it. I had teachers who encouraged learning and cared about their students. I had two wonderful principals who took their jobs seriously and, while completely different in personality, they took care of the students in their charge. It was a safe environment for everyone.

The teachers always leave detailed plans for the day, and I never feel awkward asking a fellow teacher, or student, if further clarification is needed. This district still offers a good selection of elective classes, especially at the high school level. I'm an avid proponent for electives - gives the kids a chance to decompress, and use their creative mind. And, besides, driving up here is a breeze - I'm going against rush hour traffic!

By their positive and supportive actions with their students, teachers demonstrated a loving, caring, and nurturing model for individual and groups of students. As an educator, I witnessed teachers who gave of themselves to help build the character and moral fiber of their students. Students responded to the model set for them in that they we're recognized and awarded for "Good Citizenship" (how supportive kind, and encouraging they were to each other on a day-to-day basis). Parental involvement in children's education is encouraged by reading with their child at least 20 mins. a night and providing opportunities for children to continue reading on their own. A child's education in school is stressed as very important to success. Therefore, even if a child only attends school half a day because of a doctor's appointment Etc., it is important that they be in school the other half of that day. I was impressed by the rich learning environment and the positive responsiveness of the children I observed. In keeping with the importance of reading, I was encouraged that they were having a Book Fair while we were there which then carried over into the next day. Needless to say, I added to the support of the school and the children in our home by participating greatly in the Book Fair. I was told that they will provide another Book Fair next February. The school is in need of people who would be willing to volunteer their time and services to help in the Book Fair or just to assist teachers in the classroom.

The owner has been in childcare for a bit over 20 years because she has kids herself and a lot of them ranging from mid twenties down to elementary. The staff are respectful and well informed and go through a ton of training and I feel quite confident in their abilities to keep my baby's safe. AND they even offer a well rounded LEARNING environment which I feel like made these centers stand out more.

We had one of the worst experience at Michelle's Academy, they charges us even after they told us…read morethey dont have a place for my son. Also I was forced to pay late payment fees and non sufficient funds fees even though it was processing issue at their end. Sent them emails and called them but they are not responding and telling they cannot refund the extra weeks payment that they have deducted even after telling me not to send my kid as they dont have place. I would recommend to stay away from this place as they are scamming parents.

We feel such great comfort in knowing that our daughter will be treated like one of their own and will be safe at all times. We transferred from another daycare due to not feeling this same sense of comfort there. We have also seen such tremendous growth in all areas of development and I really think this is a testament to the Montessori style of learning and the school overall. The class ratios are also small, meaning more attention and personalization for each student. As a self proclaimed helicopter parent, I was surprised at how much ease I felt with her starting a new school. I also feel heard every time I bring something up to a teacher or Sadhana that we have been trying at home or with occupational therapy. There is nothing like it in the area, in my opinion- Sadhana and the teachers create opportunities to build community with other parents and not only a casual wave in a hall. The school is small, with three preschool/kindergarten rooms and a toddler room. The wonderful staff is led by the Director, Ms. Sadhana Arun, who is a smart, loving woman who really understands and implements the Montessori philosophy beautifully. My first clue that this was a supportive and welcoming place was watching all the children race up and hug Ms. Sadhana as each one left for home in the afternoon. The teachers know all the children's names and because all the rooms are mixed age, there is an amazing sense of community among all the children who attend, that I haven't seen at any other pre-school/daycare. Our daughter blossomed at Hilliard Montessori. She gained amazing self-confidence, as well as math, science, and reading skills. She also developed a strong sense of her own ability to affect positive change in the world around her. I also appreciated the diversity of both the teaching staff and the families who attend the school. There are so many cultures, languages, and backgrounds represented. The family potlucks and celebrations were like world travel, without leaving home. My only regret is that my daughter has now aged out of their program and she can't continue to be a daily member of this loving community and learn from such amazing teachers. Review for the playground only!…read more Came on a beautiful spring day, after school. Lots of kids on the playground- but it's so big it wasn't crowded. There are two playsets, one for smaller kids and one bigger. Plus, other areas: climbing stuff, music, swings, exercise equipment, etc. Loads to do. Only a few benches for tired adults, but that's the norm at schools. Beautifully kept grounds and equipment. Parking is not very close. Baby K loved it and we will be back.

And I do wish they were military friendly and especially for children who lost their parent while Serving. It's a safe school and all in all, nicely kept on the inside and the students all seem happy
