When it comes to traveling and pit stops, this is just about as good as it gets…read more Convenience: Directly off of the Interstate - Center Point exit. Easy on, easy off. Truckers: I'm not a trucker, but if I were, this is where I would want to stop. There's a LARGE parking area, "certified scale", showers, and laundry. Food: Ok, let's face it. McDonald's and Subway are not 5 star...in my opinion. However, they are quick, clean, and gives a little variety. Both restaurants are used to accommodating large groups (youth sport teams stop here), so time and efficiency are key. Neither dining area is overly large. The gas station itself has pizza, fried baskets, donuts, and a coffee/cappuccino station. Merchandise: If you forgot it at home, they probably have it. Food, drinks, toiletries, clothing, car parts, gift trinkets, cheap toys (you know, the ones that your kids HAVE to have but you don't want to waste $1). I've walked these aisles many times. This travel plaza is just far enough away from home for me to realize that we forgot baby formula, medicine, flip flops, etc. Cleanliness: It's clean. Considering it's winter in Iowa, I would expect there to be some grit and sand around the floor and foot mats. Restrooms are large, clean, and nice.

Cons: while the restrooms are clean and updated the spacing is all wrong. At some point it must have been remodeled and you can barely stand in the stall and close the door without leaning against the toilet. So weird. Another con is the employees I've encountered at the gas station, subway and McDonald's are not friendly at all. Too busy always talking to each other than offer assistance. It's a gas station with convenience. Nothing splendid.
