The servers were friendly and I understand they have to entertain it to earn their living but I should not have to be harassed in the process. Our server forgot items and did not punch them in the POS so we never got it. Luckily it was not on the bill. The special for the AYCE boneless wings is not worth it. They are heavily bread and fatty with uneven coats of batter. Not much meat on them. I still always enjoy the beer prices. I came to this location since it was there but I'll keep going to my main location outside Canada wonderland moving forward. I saw what they have to offer front and center and it's neither the product nor the ambiance I seek: ribs, wings, a loud sports bar with big TVs everywhere, and alcohol, thus perfect for backslappers. I figured they would have something I might like to eat. Before walking over to St. Louis Bar and Grill, I had spotted fish and chips on-line. I went in, the look was true to form to what I was expecting, and was greeted and seated right away. The big TVs do dominate the locale and deal with the local religion - hockey. The resto-bar was clean. A menu was brought over quickly. The server immediately made me aware of the nightly specials. It changed what I would order. I appreciated that. I settled on a burger platter, to which I added cheese. With it, I had a root beer. (The special that night was the burger platter and one could have it with their lower cost domestic beers, or something without alcohol.) Rounding out the platter was a nice serving of fries ... the kind with the ridges ... and they were good. The platter took a while to come to the table. However, given how good it was, this didn't matter. They got it right. The final tab was to my liking. I added a tip to reflect how welcoming and good natured the service was. Note that, even though later hours are kept, the kitchen closes a little earlier. It's a great spot for lunch. Service was attentive. Food quality depends on the day... sometimes, their boneless wings were overcooked, and it became hard to stab your fork through. However, their California Quinoa salad has always been amazing every time I came here for lunch. The hotter than hell was the call. I'm a spicy food guy and that sauce just started to let the sinuses loose. Meaty wings and the order came with a decent sized side of fries. Service was a bit slow but they were near capacity so no worries there. Heard a little bit of scuttle that they are short staffed and hiring. Makes sense. Besides Di Manno bakery, this is what I'd consider a great place for a work day lunch in the immediate area. The main difference here besides the Canadian vs. Italian food is that it's wait staff serviced so you have to account for service cost for your meal. The restaurant is large and also has patio seating. The menu has plenty of burger and wing options for affordable lunches. It is busy during the weekday lunch hours but they had adequate numbers of staff who were friendly and efficient. I had a cheeseburger combo and some of my co-workers had wings and chicken options. We were all satisfied with the quality and quantity of our orders and speed of service. My only "complaint" is that we had to settle for one of the tables in the middle of the busy restaurant that made it feel a tad tight during the bustling lunch hour. We didn't have reservations and Idk if they take them but I'd do that next time if it's an option. We had no hassles with requests for separate bills or any minor accommodations on our orders. No mess ups on any of our orders and a good selection of condiments to choose from. I'll put aside my personal bias for Italian food and cafeteria style service at Di Manno and give this place an equal 5 star rating. Definitely a repeat option. read more

I have not been to St. Louis for wings in a long time but what pulled me in this time was because I remembered how good their fries are and who can forget the garlic dill sauce? Yum! We came for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. There was not much people there but there was a big group of men who was obnoxiously loud. Which was a bit annoying but hey that's what I get for coming to a sports bar right? haha There wings selections is quite small compared to wild wings and Allstars. We chose the hot & honey and buffalo ranch. Normally it's $15.99 a pound. But we came during lunch so it was $12.99/ pound and a pop drink for another $1. Which we added. Not sure if I was just hungry but it felt like the food took a bit long to come out considering it wasn't busy. The pop came and we got the ice tea and coke. We thought the drink was quite watered down and tasted a bit flat. But I continued to drink the ice tea anyway. The food finally comes and after taking the photos for the gram I took a big sip of my ice tea and looked into my glass and to my surprise, they was a FLY IN MY ICE TEA! GROSSS!!! I was so disgusted as flies are really dirty and filled with bacteria! We flag down our server and told her that there was a fly in our drink and guess what? Her reaction was "oh, let me get you a new one." NO APOLOGIES. She walks to the bar and all I heard was her pouring out my drink.. which can only mean she used the SAME GLASS ... and refilled my drink. She comes back and again did not apologize!! I was pretty off put by that. And even now as I am typing this.. I'm wondering why I tipped them. Anyway, the food was mediocre at best. The dill sauce is still bomb and goes great with the fries. But not even the dill sauce can save the wings. My buffalo ranch wings did not taste anything like buffalo, no heat whatsoever. (And I'm not the type that can take spice!) The ranch was a bit overpowering. The hot & honey was decent. But the wings weren't really crispy. But without the sauce it would probably be very dry. Overall, very disappointed with the service and the food. The server was very nice and even gave use more dill sauce than we actually needed but she didn't do the one thing that's important in the food service business. A simple apology. I would give this place 10 stars if I could. I have ALWAYS had a great time here and the waitresses have consistently been amazing! I love their garlic sauce and they always always always give it extra if I ask for it. But the location at finch and duffrine (sp?) is so bad that they charge for each tiny dip you ask for! Hence I NEVER go there anymore. Recently I have switched my lifestyle and the way I eat. I went to St Louise (the one I am reviewing) and reluctantly ask the waitress if she could accommodate my request. She not only accommodated my request she even suggested some ideas within my guidelines!!! I loved the experience! Then I went back again yesterday the same waitress attended to us. A few years ago I posted a review for St. louis that I found accurate and obviously based on my own opinion and experience there. I received a message on Yelp from the owner offering a chance to redeem themselves. Although I never took her up on the offer (thanks Karen but I couldn't: i like to go when no one knows i'm there- it makes for a more honest review) i did go back. Two reasons I did was because like Karen explained they were having an "off" night and because everyone deserves to have a second chance- after all even if you have a really bad experience somewhere it takes a very mature and visionary business owner/manager to read yelp reviews and build a better business on constructive criticism. I don't give bad reviews to screw with people- i do it to reflect honesty and to hopefully save people (mainly customers) from mediocre service. Going back to St. louis- under the radar- and I must admit that my experience with them so many years ago was obviously a bad "off" night for them. This time around it was way better! Didn't think I would write a review for a franchise restaurant but I thought i should for this specific St. Louis location. Came to this location for the first time on a Tuesday night for their half price wings special. My boyfriend and I waited 10 minutes for our table which is pretty good compared to the other locations. We ordered right away when we got our table as we were starving..... We waited for a good 20 - 25 mins (at least) for our food to come which we thought it was unreasonably long. The first thing we noticed was the food portions were not up to the "st Louis" standard that we were used to at other locations. The order for 2 lbs of wings definitely looked more like 1.5lb instead. The wings were so dry and slighly burnt, they were just overcooked. This location really did not live up to the St Louis standard. It was really disappointing, dont think we will come back to this location. read more

Horrible service... I've been here twice now and both times I have been given bills charging me for more than what I have ordered. I don't know if it's because I am a person of colour and I'm pre assumed to be a bad tipper but the bartender who has overcharged me twice was in a bad mood both times after I noticed to issues on the bills. The second time i asked for change (over $15 back) I was given all my change back passive aggressively in loonies. This update is long overdue. Since I initially posted this review, I've gone back...and I'm ashamed to admit this...1-2 times a week in the past two months. Now, I shouldn't say this as if this was the first time we've crossed paths with her - we've had Alexis take care of us before, she's always a ray of sunshine, positive, bubbly, welcoming and thoughtful. She's the one who's always recalled our order perfectly and taken such great care of us. But she *is* the reason we've decided to continue our patronage to this location. I've pushed the prior experience to the depths of my mind and have decided to let it go as an off night for the waitress. Alexis is truly the best thing to happen to this location and we've continuously left her generous tips since to express our thanks for her consistent thoughtfulness, and warm demeanour. She is someone who you can truly tell genuinely loves her job, the people she works with and the customers.
