The most recent was today, when he came out to figure out why a new bathroom fixture drain would not seal properly. He figured it out in a few minutes. He found the new drain pipe was substantially smaller in diameter than the basin hole, which allowed water to divert through the overflow outlet pass-through in the side of the pipe and travel down the outside of the pipe and around the bottom seal. After adding some silicone sealant to fill up that extra space, the drain no longer leaks. I didn't see that one in any Google video!! I'd recommend Cornerstone to everyone.

I found myself in dire straits when I discovered my Septic system was malfunctioning on Christmas Eve. I called the emergency service lines for most of the major outfits that service the Brockville/Smith Falls corridor. I explained that I had a houseful of relatives coming to celebrate the first Christmas in my new home (an older farmhouse north of Brockville) I felt desperate and despair when I realized I had to cancel Christmas as I had no working toilets, sink or showers. Most of the services stated they could not send anyone for several days. Later that afternoon got a call back from Sheldon Pilatzke, who patiently listened to my situation and started to help me troubleshoot the situation. Needless to say.. he said, "I can't leave you like this" ... and a couple of hours later arrived with the tools needed to pinpoint the 'root' of the problem. I could not have solved the problem without his help. He gave up many hours on Christmas Eve with his own family to help me and I am so grateful. If you need an expert plumber who is also great guy. This review is different, it is written three days after H&W finished two weeks of work at our house after thought and reflection. In August the basement of our bungalow was filled with 4 feet of sewage, we lost 70% of our possessions. We threw all of our memories into a dumpster in our driveway and was informed that our house had asbestos forcing us to move out of it with three children in tow. We did not expect encouragement in these tough times to come in the form of a husband and wife abatement team but that is what happened. Chris and Sylvie came to our house and demonstrated professional excellence in every possible way. They explained the scope of the work and what they were doing at every step. They were fastidious about cleanliness and meticulous in their methods to ensure that our house would be fully abated without incidental asbestos contamination, working 13 days straight through a long weekend to get us back in our home as quickly as possible. They were considerate of our salvageable belongings, moving items with care and when we did move back home they timed the remainder of their operations in consideration of our family's schedule. Their abatement efforts uncovered underlying mold issues which they took the initiative to remediate in consultation with our insurance company. They cleaned every surface by hand when they were done. Chris told me early on we could eat off the floor when they were done, I think he was right. You might think every abatement company operates like this but after talking to multiple neighbours also undergoing abatement operations from the same flood I've come to realize how deeply fortunate we were to have H&W. Friends up the road suffered fractured plumbing or panes of glass from careless abatement, one couple had the abatement go so poorly their entire house was contaminated with asbestos dust (incidentally H&W got called in to fix that mess). Chris and Sylvie are H&W, they put their hearts into every job because it's their company, their reputation, and their passion to do restore worksites to a high standard of cleanliness while adhering to the highest of safety standards. I don't offer a 5-star rating here on a whim, H&W deserve all five.
