I've had…read morefamily members be hospitalized here both in the med center and the rehab across the turnaround entrance, and when I come to visit I sometimes pop into the cafeteria to get something before going to see them. They have several parking garages that offer short term parking for free (like 30 min or less), but otherwise unless you have validation, you do have to pay. The spots are kind of small and so are the signs in the parking garage, so pay close attention to make sure you're driving in the right place. Overall though, this is a pretty good med center in my opinion that offers most of the major medical subspecialties you may need for your care. The inpatient rehab is also one of the best in Austin, and they are one of the only facilities that offers a driving test if there's a medical concern for someone's safety re: driving (e.g. in a patient with cognitive impairment/early dementia).

My mother was brought to the ER after suffering from severe diarrhea for two weeks. At the time of…read moreadmission, she was extremely weak and unable to retain any liquids. Despite her visible dehydration and the difficulty staff had establishing an IV, she remained in the ER for approximately four hours without receiving any IV fluids. Before being discharged, she suffered a physical setback, yet she was still sent home. The following day, we were notified that she tested positive for C. diff. It is deeply concerning that a patient in her condition, with what turned out to be a serious infection, was brushed off and discharged while still thirsty and weak. We now have to wait several days to see her primary care physician for follow-up care that should have been initiated or supported by the emergency team. I am disappointed by the lack of effort and the dismissive attitude we encountered during this visit. I would appreciate a review of her case and an explanation as to why standard interventions, such as administering saline fluids, were not provided given her symptoms. We can do better for all patients.

I have a major needle phobia so I was having a panic attack about the blood work. The nurse practitioner was completely unhelpful. We let them know at sign up i needed something to calm me down. Luckily the doctor i ended up seeing at ARC LISTENED and understood. They HELPED. Shame on this place for not doing so.

We get there, four hours later, to then be told, he had to be transported to the main Seton location because they found out they don't have the IR staff to do the procedure after all. Yes, that's 4 hours. Worst staff. Worst process. Worst follow ups. We get to Seton Main at 6PM, waited till about 9PM to finally be told, procedure will not be done until the morning. It is now the morning, new staff, new urologist on call, and to be told they don't have a copy of the order and don't know anything about the urologist order for the procedure. Mind you, we asked the Urologist office if we can wait until Monday and they insist it has to be done now because it is considered a medical emergency...and we are now, our day 2 of waiting and Seton Staff have no clue! Whomever is the operations leader in charge of how staff handles urgent requests like these need to be evaluated bec the experience from a patient stand point is definitely sub par. We're now getting billed for emergency expenses for something they have not displayed any urgency on.

Everyone from the front desk to the imaging area was so kind, helpful and knowledgeable. The nurses were thorough, professional, and caring. The radiology tech was one of the nicest people I've met in a minute! The doctor actually spoke to me like a real person. This was in stark contrast to the CareNow clinic I visited earlier in the day wherein the doc stared at his computer screen as he typed the whole time he was in the room with me. At Ally, the doc had a conversation and let me have a voice in my care plan. She actually seemed like she cared about what was going on with me even though we didn't really figure it out. She made she I was safe to go about life and try to figure it out with my pcp, which was all I needed. I had seen the Ally logo around but didn't know what it was. Now I know they are my emergency medicine ally! Hope I don't have to go back, but know I'll choose Ally over anywhere else if I do.

This world class learning hospital has an incredible cardiac and heart health care network starting…read morehere at the hospital and branches throughout the city. A few nights ago I thought I had a really bad stomach thing and dehydration and felt deadly sick. I drove myself first thing in the morning to the hospital ER. After checking in, I waited no more than 12 minutes in the busy ER waiting room and a nurse came out and immediately asked if she could do an EKG, cause she apparently had a hunch. Seconds later the whole department went into overdrive and she said we're getting you to the cardiac ER immediately. I heard an announcement over the PA calling for al available hands to report while they were running a few other tests on me and prepping the room. It was about 40 minutes at most when I was already having a catheter run through my groin and within a few seconds I saw my heart beating on the big screen. Everyone was very attentive and kind and I was awake during the entire angioplasty surgery. Nothing hurt till the removal of the catheter at the end of the procedure to clear one of the main arteries to my heart, and install a stent. The pain was quick. I spent the first night in ICU and had an amazing team checking on me all night. The next morning I was cleared from ICU and got to stay another night for observation. All my nurses were very kind, attentive, and ordered lots of food and snacks as I requested since my appetite wasn't great at first but I needed to get nutrients. Then the rehab team came in and chatted to get me setup for their cardiac rehabilitation program so I can stay healthy and learn better practices... The variety of food options all day long are always great so there's something for everyone. The gist is they really care here and have amazing technology and staff. I have come here for all my ER, surgical, and radiology needs for many years. The urology and sports medicine departments are what I've previously visited for (kidney health and a dislocated shoulder).

I went to St. David Surgical Hospital in Round Rock today for the first time. I was getting an…read moreinjection in my back. I will say, they spared no money in this building. When you walk in to register there is a huge lobby area, very nicely decorated, where you can sit and wait. We found a parking spot out front but if there are none available you can drive around back to the parking garage and both are free. After about a five minute wait, they came to get me and take me back and everything looked very neat and clean in the rooms. I will say that my injection was about 45 minutes late but I think that's more on the doctor than the surgical center. The nurses and the rest of the staff were all very friendly and joked around with me, which makes the experience that much better. Overall, I think that facility is very nice and I would not hesitate to go there again for any type of procedure!

I just spent 5 intense days in this wonderful facility for removal of a massive gallbladder. It was…read morequite an ordeal and I'm not gonna pretend I remember every moment perfectly because I was being given IV pain medication. First of all... Donna, my ER nurse was amazing. She is so easy to talk to, personable, knowledgeable... and she can sure hit a vein! They once called her up to my hospital room to insert a new IV and I was thrilled to see her again! I've had previous experience with Donna and she's always wonderful. I had two doctors. My surgeon, Dr. Alex Santos, is amazing doctor! Performed a very difficult removal of a gallbladder the size of a baseball. Very attentive. The on-site doctor, Dr. Laney, is probably one of the most caring doctors I have ever encountered in a hospital. He was always nearby. Great bedside manner. You can tell this man truly loves helping people. My nurses were like superheroes. They did everything they could to make sure I was as comfortable as possible during a time when I was experiencing the worst pain of my life. I can't say enough. James handled my first (and most intense) night like a champion. He even had me doing breathing exercises with him. He was born to do what he does. I can't thank him enough! The other nurses were all wonderful with the exception of one! The last nurse I had, Dan, was the polar opposite of every other nurse. Dan was beyond rude. I fell that he chose the wrong profession. He did and said so many ugly things, I don't even have the energy to type it all! But he shouldn't be a nurse. I wouldn't even want that man making me a latte. For now I will assume Dan is gone, or he was having the worst day of his life, because so many other ppl here need 5 stars. But he would get 1. The woman who made my meals was also darling! She found out I was vegan and after a day... she had done her research and added things to the menu special just for me! Just above and beyond! But of all the staff, the one who holds my heart is the Tec, Curtis! Curtis was there for me through it all. He was kind, compassionate, witty, caring, and he was ahead of everything that was happening. Always making sure I had what I needed and was doing what I needed to do. He even helped me walk the halls during recovery. I will miss him dearly and hope I can somehow thank him for being there with me through something so difficult. Thank you Curtis! You're my MVP. And thank you to the entire staff (not Dan) for everything you did for me! I will only use this hospital from here on.

100 stars if I could Truly the best medical care I've ever…read morereceived! I came here based on reviews because when you're in pain you want to be nurtured & treated well. Their staff was exceptional & went beyond that. Oddly enough for a hospital it felt homey & comforting, but truly it was the staff. Fastest attention for a kidney infection on level 10 pain, shaking in my boots. I frequent emergency rooms like it's an air bnb bc of my kidneys so I KNOW quality care vs lack there of. Was there for literally two hours & you'd think I left with a kidney transplant bc of how well I felt. Maybe it was the drugs maybe it was maybelline. Not my typical Sunday brunch recommendation, but if you want the best of the best, Westlake is the place to be! Thank yall ‍
