While he was at work, I found 3 locations in Omaha that were closest to his job and the pictures look actually decent. The first two I called were good, but not the bees knees. And they were not willing to work with the quick turn of key needed. And a good rent price - We just could NOT pay more than his paycheck for rent with multiple and high cost utilities. Nope. Well, I should have called Deidre first. Deidre answered the phone when I called with a smile in her voice. She sent me pictures. She talked to my son. She was just EVERYTHING!. I told her that this was oldest baby and his first apartment and the furthest he has ever lived away from me. He was good! I was a mess! Deidre was understanding! To say the least, we had his lease, rental insurance, car shipped, paid parking spot, 20 minutes from his Iowa based job, living in the near everything, and mama's heart not as anxious within 4 days. The keys were waiting for us on a Saturday (because we were driving from Georgia). The apartment was ready. The Wifi was ready. All we had to do was shop for basic furniture, supplies, and food. I cried when we left 48 hours later, but I knew he was in good hands. AND he had a washer and dryer in the apartment!!! With a Big size refrigerator. And it was CLEAN! And the neighbors were all very welcoming. He is in his second year now and things are still good. Why did it take me from August 21, 2022 until today, November 6, 2023 to write this review? . . . I have no idea, but I knew it was time to do it. My heart rests easier for my son because of Deidra at The Flats on Howard. She did good. The funny part of all this . . . I still have not met her face to face yet, but I will one day. She took care of this Mama's big scared heart - she put it at ease. (By the way, the buildings are just awesomely beautiful and well-maintained.)
