Hope Cooperative Care is a much needed service. Working with Hope Cooperative Care is easy to work with. Providers and employees at the facility are very caring and obviously want the best for their clients. There are never issues with reaching a person ... the correct person ... to speak with for questions or issues. The staff to be very skilled, and watch for opportunities to direct needed care for residents. I highly recommend Hope Cooperative Care for individuals and for family members who are trying to work through difficulties with mental health issues and challenges. read more

The positive reviews of this place are fake. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. The owners, Dave and Sarah Campbell don't give a damn about you or your family. They certainly put on a good front though. My son was there for just 6 months. I scheduled monthly meetings along with a member of DHHS. Dave never showed up then Sarah took over but was always late (after being called by staff and myself after arriving to remind her) then chose to no longer show up at all. They agreed to do things they had no intention of following through on; making sure my son brushed his teeth, did his laundry, cleaned his room, you know - all of the things you'd expect from an assisted living facility. Not only did they not do any of this (even though the applied for and was approved for funding to provide day services) they failed to give my son his most important medication for 3 months!!! So many problems... my son had his entire wardrobe stolen, food stolen, lived in squalor and was subject to being made fun of BY EMPLOYEES OF THE FACILITY! When trying to get them to help him with his hygiene, etc., I was literally told that my son was old enough to deal with it himself and was told, by Dave, that my son would be better off if I left him alone to figure things out himself then proceeded to call me a helicopter parent. Truth is, they only want people at their facility that they can put in a corner and forget; no family or anyone to check on them. They only see dollar signs. For the love of GOD, DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO BE PLACED HERE EVER AGAIN. The state needs to shut them down. I wish I would have taken more pictures.... read more

When I visited a client on 12/13/2019, I observed a low-hanging electrical wire from the building to the "smoke shed" & a couple pieces of carpet folded on the sidewalk as a tripping hazard. Upon entering the building, I noticed numerous holes punched into the walls & dirty dishes in the common use area. As I waited for the client to take her medications in the med office, she also took a 2nd cup of meds that were on the counter in front of her. Thank God she had the presence of mind to question what they were & was told to spit them out because they were intended for another client. I went back for another visit on 12/18/2019 I saw a young girl, about 8 years old, who is the daughter of a staff member & was running around the building without adult supervision. Over the past 4 months, there have always been smokers outside the designated area & at the entrances where I have to walk through the cloud of smoke. There are cigarette butts & cans of them scattered all around the property. Although I am not a neighbor to HCC, I am concerned about the impact on the neighborhood because the clients (with varying degrees of mental illness) are allowed to wander around the town at will. They have been known to trespass on private property as they peer into windows & take items from yards & porches. The 2 clients that I have visited over the past 4 months told me about neglect of their care & verbal abuse by the staff, but I will not convey the substance of those allegations since I was not present to witness them. Suffice it to say this is a prevalent problem. As an overall review of HCC, I must conclude that the environment & health care leaves a lot to be desired. read more

I am a neighbor of Hope Cooperative. I have spoken to some of the residents about living there. As I spoke with them, they sincerely expressed how blessed they felt for living at HCC. I am not afraid of the residents because they are different or have mental illness. I am more concerned about the drunk driver getting pulled over in front of my house or the lady on meth that pushed my son out of the way to get candy thrown at the parade. What scares me though is living in a world where people with mental illness have no where to turn for treatment. There is a mental health crisis going on, but there are few that are willing to help. The Campbell's have taken on this task with love. If anything, the community should support and welcome their efforts! read more

I am a behavioral home health nurse for an agency. Unfortunately I have to go to group homes and facilities that honestly breaks my heart to leave the individuals I care for in that setting. The first time I walked into Hope I felt like it was the Martha Stuart of behavioral health. All of us are exposed to individuals with behavioral health issues being family, friends or ourselves. We have to remember that someone who is being judged against is not always the guilty. Would you blame them for being less than human? No, as humans we understand that people go through things that change them either physically, organically or situationally. Some families can't care for their loved ones in their home so a place like Hope that provides a loving family non sexual or violent atmosphere is so comforting. Prejudice and descimination is very apparent on the block of Ave C and 5th. Education about the true disability and disease process is in great need for those neighbors who are ignorant when it comes to someone with behavioral health disease. It is projected that behavioral health will be the greatest need for care within the next 20 years. So sad that prejudice people voice their opinion without the education available still exist even in the year of 2018. read more
