We have grown so much closer to God, to Jesus. We still watch him weekly and try to attend. But here is the issue. We have 2 children and we live about 30-45 min away. Shepherd Church is WONDERFUL for your kids, from diapers to grade 5. But 2 years ago, they abandoned their service to many youth age children grade 7-12. They stopped holding their worship-teaching- fellowship ministry for middle school- high school students except on mid week service. We cannot drive to Shepherd midweek, it takes 1-2 hours in traffic. So our children are totally left out now when we attend on the weekend (usu Saturdays). In place, they have a Bible study class that continues from Wednesday groups- but our kids are left out, they have now lost contact with their friends from Shepherd (their close friends also now stopped attending). I am sure that the cessation of the youth church has affected others, many who attended Sheperd with our kids in K-5 also live far away, we stopped seeing them on Saturdays so began attending elsewhere. We found a great place that still ministers to all in the family- middle school/high school im their own services/classes. This age group is critically important- its the age where many face peer pressures to turn away from God. It breaks out heart, we have voiced concerns to several pastors. We pray they will restore the youth ministry for all, even youth visitors to enjoy and feel they belong I love Dudley and the pastors, we do attend occasionally, our children sit with us.

But unfortunately, there is still the obnoxious man who feels the need to agree with everything the pastor says at the 11 am service on top of now multiple other people shouting in agreement whilst the pastor preaches. This is a no go for me (along with many other people I've spoken to) and for that reason we've all moved to watching service live at home. It's unfortunate, especially because no employees do anything to quiet people down. Sorry to break it to you but you're not having a one on one conversation with the pastor. He's preaching to 1100+ people. Please fix this Shepherd church team. I really want to go back to the days of walking into my beautiful church and hearing the pastor preach in person.

I don't understand why a lot of people don't do reviews on churches? In his Presence Church is a very clean, beautiful church with a high ceiling, beautiful mosaic windows, and a wonderful service. Pews are very comfortable to sit on. One of the things that stood out is that they are not pushy when the collection basket goes around. You can put any denomination that your heart desires. Some churches can be a bit demanding, which I don't approve of and don't like. Eucharist, the bread, which represents Jesus's body, was an actual decent size bread, and so was the Grape Juice that most churches pass out, instead of the wine. It was well portioned. It is a denominational church. People were very nice, fun and friendly. They have Bible study classes, Sunday school for kids, cel groups get together and pray. It is very holy and powerful. The choir is another story. Loved all the hymns they sang. God's presence was extremely powerful and Jesus's holiness was profound. They have plenty of parking spaces and a gender neutral restroom. I will visit this church next time I happen to be in the area! God bless us all. They also hold Weddings, Funerals, and Baptisms. Closed on the weekend, which is odd. That's when people attend church, right? So open the doors, and one last thing: all are WELCOME!

Satan's greatest weapon is to convince people he Satan and evil do not exist. Rocky Peak is a…read moreclique church...you have to make a certain income and know the right people. Long time ago I was a member for years, at the bottom, on the verge of living out of my car so I sought help from my church RP and specifically Mike Yearly who turned his back on several of us, several families...all members. When I went to see him, it felt as if evil from him was trying to drill a hole in me via his eyes. When several asked if we could pitch a tent just for a few days there Yearly said no and then asked how we would tithe. I kept my faith and God blessed me abundantly...found a church a short time later that welcomed me with open arms and even offered me a place to live. My situation now is completely abundant buying my own house, in fact several. After all those years I thought to try RP again hoping, praying the evil had left...it had not. They have greeters that act as if it's a job or a chore to greet, not an honest emotion to love people, love God's children. Rocky Peak has become a mega-church jr. with all the ritual distance from it's members especially those who income is not adequate. After many years asking God's help with loving regardless I tried going back for a bit to see what the Spirit had to teach me thinking/praying maybe perspectives had changed, but it still felt like it wasn't my Father's house and not a place where His beloved children could run and jump and play. In one of my revisits a couple outside afterward even said they were leaving RP becuae their faces got tired of smiling. Yearly quipped several times to me on the side way back then he couldn't wait until his contract with the church was up. A pastor loves his flock regardless of their status and finds joy in being with them..this is NOT Rocky Peak or it's lead pastor.

We've tithed for years, paid preschool tuition here, and have personal relationships with the executive pastors. The finance administrative assistant refused us stating we weren't "members." Then we mentioned we'd be making a donation. The refusal vanished immediately, and suddenly she was happy to help. That's the whole story. Our family's decades of faithfulness meant nothing, but a check changed everything in a single conversation. We had to buy compassion from a church, during the worst week of our lives. The funeral will happen, and I'm glad my father will be honored somewhere he belongs. But if you're considering this church for your family -- especially for the moments when you'll be at your most vulnerable -- know how we were treated when we came to their door in grief.
