The overall experience here has been extremely disappointing. One of the biggest issues is the writing teacher, Jill Slike.She's incredibly rude, unprofessional, and treats students unfairly. St. Joseph School has been such a positive experience for our family. Each faculty member knows my child and takes a vested interest in helping her to grow into the best version of herself. I would describe the school as a very tight-knit community where each child is valued and has a place - from pre-K through 6th grade, children learn strong values, practice virtues everyday, and have access to a high-quality, Christ-centered curriculum and a wide array of extra-curricular activities. There is also a tremendous amount of opportunity to participate/volunteer as a parent, which I do not see elsewhere at the same level. St. Joseph School is top notch! read more

A good place to attend Mass in York, PA. Saint Joseph's has an active parochial school. The school and the church are a little over a hundred years old in history but the buildings are only about twenty years old. As the church grew, they moved across town to a larger plot of land and new buildings. This particular Catholic church is run by Franciscans. I don't think I have ever been to a mass before where the priest was wearing a brown burlap robe with a rope belt and Birkenstocks with socks but no one else there though this sight the least bit unusual. The congregation is a very large population. For Christmas Eve Mass at 9 pm, we were thirty minutes early and had a hard time finding seats. New Year's Day there was a lot more open space. Sunday morning was a packed house. You should go early if you choose to go to Mass here. Overall, a great experience. Check out the picture of their remarkably big baptism font. read more

We occasionally attend Saturday evening Mass when we come up from New Freedom to do shopping at the Mall.What stands out most for us is the beautiful simplicity of the Mass. Straight forward, no large production, no altar people making a nuisance during the Mass. The clergy have always been friendly and intelligent.The previous Pastors, Fr Louis and Fr Daya were very caring individuals.I highly recommend this Parish. read more
