When we were shopping for day care for my daughter, we went to almost all providers in our area, and finally selected this one. Currently they have one class for 2 to 3 years, and two classes for children older than 4. As a Montessori school, the kid really learns. The teachers are capable and very nice. Each week, they call in two coaches to teach the kids exercise. The price for extended (7:30AM to 6:00PM) is $995 per month currently. The biggest issue is the location, the only entrance is on Major Mac, so it is very inconvenient during the rush hour.

I rearranged my schedule to make it work, only to be told the morning of the tour that the spot had already been given to someone else. At no point was I informed that the spot was being offered to multiple families or that it could be taken before my tour. If I had known, I would have acted faster or asked for an earlier tour. This lack of communication felt unprofessional and left me feeling misled and inconvenienced. Families deserve transparency when it comes to something as important as childcare spots.

The staff is very kind and gentle with the children, always playing with them and keeping a close eye. As you know, children can be reckless and on multiple occasions my son has been pushed or kicked by another toddler, the teacher automatically notified me of this, ensuring me that the other parent was notified as well. This is just one of the ways the staff at this daycare differ greatly from other ones. 2. The food is catered and organic, all a parent can ask for for their children is for them to eat well and healthy. They offer a menu in which I can keep track of everything that my son is eating and it is very beneficial for me to work around. 3. The children spend a lot of time outdoors, they exercise and play. They are not confined within the walls of the daycare but rather gets fresh air throughout the day. My son is very energetic, so being able to go outside is a perfect way for him to play to the fullest of his extent and explore the world around him. 4. His dad an i KNEW it will be a disaster because he's never slept anywhere other than in his crib and we made the childcare staff aware of this. This daycare has video surveillance. My husband and I were glued to the camera during lunch and into nap hour. We watched my son repeatedly leaving his cot and being put back. At one point an ECE grabbed him and flopped him onto his cot, pushed him down (pushed his chest and torso down) and then pinned/held him there while he was kicking and screaming. This went on for around 2 minutes (we were later told by investigators who watched the video). I emailed the owner (Angie) and requested a conversation. Amanda wrote me back told me they can't talk and to email them. I wrote them a stern email asking for an explanation of under what circumstance is it ok to push and pin a child down on his first day of daycare to force him to stay laying down. They told me they will investigate the footage and call me in the morning. I never got this call. I followed up with another email requesting a call. I finally got a call in the afternoon and Angie minimized my concern citing that this "ECE has worked there for a year and never had any issues and that she was only holding him down for "literally seconds"" - this is not true. We went on talking and I kept listing other issues we've experienced in just a few short days (daycare staff lying when we saw the truth on video, being generally rough with kids (yanking them by the arm, wtc...) they haven't taken the kids outside all week, no covid protocol, etc...). I got no apology until I deliberately asked for one. Pitiful. I have this entire conversation recorded for anyone who wishes to hear it. In the end I yanked my child out, demanded a refund and they are currently under investigation with the ministry of Ontario and children's aid surfaces.

She seemed okay and I liked the school because it was an accredited Montessori. So I wanted to enrol my child as soon as possible. She told me that she will let me know if there was any available space for Jan. she told me to call a week after the interview and I did, she said she still doesn't know what's going on and to give her some more time so I gave her another week and called her and she said she still had no clue what was going on and she would call me as soon as she finds out. Anyways long story short, I had called her 4 times and left 2 messages she never returned any of my calls. Which I find is very UNPROFESSIONAL and RUDE!! If you run a proper Montessori school which parents would like to enrol there children and pay you to teach them, wouldn't you at least have the common curtsey to call a parent back and let them know what's going on ? She never called me back. If she can't call you back on a simple yes or no answer that shows me she is not running a proper Montessori school that I would like to enrol my child in. So I definitely do not recommend this school for any parent. There are many out there and I would like to enrol my child in one where they care rather then not care!

Everyone from the front office to teachers to coaches to extra-curricular leaders are available, approachable and know our children. I am confident that the education that my children are receiving at Hudson will prepare them for the rest of their lives and a successful future.
