This is a beautifully renovated church that just makes you feel right at home! It's not too large and what I like about it is the beautiful crucifix of Jesus, and the 2 statues of our Blessed Mother Mary and St. John the Evangelist. Father Mugabo gives great homilies and does the sign of the cross after his homily, which I admire. Another priest from where I used to go always did that and I think it's just a great way to seal the message in us! There's also Father Bland and Father Uba who are great as well.
This parish also has a nice little chapel that allows you to come in for adoration. However, it's not Perpetual Adoration that is open 24 hrs, but we have St. Mel's for that :-)
There is also a cute gift shop with prayer cards, home decor, and little Knick-knacks. I like how they have things you can get for certain holidays. They were featuring a Birthstone Angel during Christmas which was a nice gift.
During Lent, they have mass in the afternoon at 5:30pm (yay!!) and stations of the cross thereafter. If only they can continue having mass everyday in the afternoon even after Lent would be nice for those wanting to make daily mass a practice to grow in relationship with Jesus. I think aside from just going to mass of course, we should get to know the Lord in a way where we build a relationship with Him. After all, He is always good!
Come to St. John's and listen to their great choir too! Lovely singers! I think every 1st Sunday the students from the private school serve, they lector and sing in the choir...they're just so adorable! read more
