Considering it was a Sunday, I found that to be quite impressive and a testament to the restaurant. The food was piping hot. So hot I couldn't even bite into it for fear of burning my mouth! I took the time to enjoy the fries which were quite enjoyable - crunchy and tasty. Also, in comparison to other restaurants... the chicken pieces were HUGE! You're very much getting your money's worth in that regards. When it had finally cooled down enough to eat... it was good. It didn't live up to the hype I was given before going in, but it was definitely enjoyable. The fried covering was crunchy and very tasty without it being overly oily. The coleslaw was different than what I've tasted before but after an intriguing first few bites found myself happily digging in. The biscuits were perfect: harder shell with a wonderful hot and soft interior :) I look forward to another visit to compare against this first visit.

recently in the news it was revealed that many franchise owners were suing the Popeyes franchise…read morefor changing the method of butchering the chickens. They claim the chickens are no longer Halal method because the major arteries are no longer cut and the blood drained, which is required for being certified Halal. They claim most of their customers are Islams and they are losing them causing financial harm. The last time I was there the claim seemed to be true as I noticed the blood vessels in the dark meet were indeed full of blood and the taste had changed, not in a good way. I'm not saying it's not safe to eat as it is well cooked but I did notice the centre of the leg was all red and the taste was different from the outside. My solution: I bought an air fryer and some hot sauce. It's a shame as I loved their chicken before they changed. Mr. Wontbe Back

Decided to try this small fried chicken place. The menu isn't big, fried chicken, nugget, salads…read moreand chicken burger. It's like a glorified pfk. The place is very small, there's 4 table for 4 persons and 2 bar style section where you sit on a stool for about 6 persons. Staff blast personal music through a Bluetooth speaker. When I arrived, the cashier had airpod in his ear while taking order and had trouble understanding people order. He finally removed them after some patrons but he shouldn't have them to begin with. Order take from 5 to 10 minutes to arrived. So it's not fast food as you order and you have it, but it's not table service either. It is not cheap. I was thinking it would cost less. A chicken burker 16$, drink and fries 4.50, poutine instead of fries 4$. 4 chicken strip with buns, 2 sauce and fries, 20$. Total of 50$ with taxes. No I didn't leave any tips, it's not table service or delivery. Staff was nice. As for the food. The chicken mozzarella burger. Big thick chicken with a good chunk of mozzarella. Really good chunk of cheese. But the chicken is as smooshy, not a great feeling. But it's a big burger. As for the poutine, it's also a big good plate, lots of sauce. I suggest starting with it unless you like saugy fries. We found the sauce and fries salt leaking, making it a milder poutine with a sub taste. The hot cheestos chicken tender were very thin. Red hot is suppose to be hot, I think it's the regular tender but in red hot batter or something. Wasn't hot for me. I too the spicy sauce and crusty. The tender wasn't really tender, again squeeshy and felt like left over chicken from 2 days ago. Didn't felt fresh. Regular normal sauce, nothing out of the ordinary. Came with a coleslaw that were also blend. This place remind me of jack le coq. In the end, I won't be coming back. I wish we had a chicken guy, it's so much better.

I saw lots of amazing reviews on google so I decided ok let's try it! Service: 5++++Super friendly very caring and they really care about pleasing their customers. It is a bit of a long wait to get the order! They do everything on order so it takes time to get stuff cooked up but trust me it's worth the wait it's amazing ! At least you know it's FRESH! Food: 5****++++++++++++*+*+++++/5 one of the best if not THE BEST CHICKEN sandwiches I've ever had! In all honesty their chicken was amazing super juicy inside and extremely crispy and light on the out! It was out of this world ! This place is by far the best wayy better than their competitor next door! It definitely needs way more credit it's just that good! The chicken tenders were so juicy inside and crispy crunchy light on the outside wow! I loved the fries they were crispy but still filled inside usually fries have nothing inside these were thick cut french fries that was extremely delicious. The onion rings were good but the STAR was the chicken.. the condiments need a bit of work like their sauce and slaw is a bit bland but f*k it I'm all jn on their chicken!!!! Everything was fresh and made on the spot ! Overall, HUGE HUGE HIT I WILL COME HERE IN A HEARTBEAT ANYDAY !! Definitely worth trying you just have to you won't be disappointed

TL;DR/The Short Version: Delicious crispy chicken tenders…read moreand waffle fries in what feels like a micro-Food Hall environment. The Long Version: My husband and I stopped at Cali for a snack before heading back home to Ottawa. We shared a 4 pieces chicken tenders combo ($18) which came with waffle fries and a canned drink (we got a Fuse iced tea). The chicken tenders were a good size and were lean chicken breast meat. I don't know how they do it but the outside was so crispy and crunchy and the inside was moist and tender. Definitely in the top 5 chicken tenders I've ever had. The waffle fries were great too. Waffle fries are so underrated, lol. The meal came with 2 Cali sauces, which I would describe as a creamy chipotle sauce. Service was pleasant. You order and pay at the kiosk and they ask you to enter your name. They call out your name when your order is ready. There is a bit of a wait since they fry your chicken to order, but it's so worth it. The building has 3 fast-food style eateries. Totopo Tacos is on the same floor as Cali and Sama Sushi is on the lower floor. Totopo Tacos and Cali share the same dining area. I didn't go downstairs so I don't know if Sama Sushi has it's own dining area or not. It feels like a really tiny Food Hall. It looks and feels nicer than a typical Food Court. There's free parking in the shared parking lot. Review #96 (2025)

I waited a very long time to try this place out, as every time I passed by in the last year, this place was Jammed ... a huge line up so never wanted to wait in line for fried chicken. Was in Laval on a Monday and I decided Hey let's try Cali.. I always wanted to try it out but maybe I'll get lucky and there won't be too many people. To my surprise, there was a lot of people but thankfully they were already eating and they've been served so I came in at the right time to get me a chicken burger ! Yaaay! The employees are super friendly and welcoming! The menu is super simple Chicken burger, waffle fries, poutine and mac & cheese that's it .. I think ahahaa So I just ordered the chicken burger trio. With the waffle poutine and boy was it out of this world. The chicken was insanely crispy on the outside juiceeyyyyy on the inside. The Burger: 5+++++ it was the best chicken burger I've had in years like legit one of the top top burgers! Filled with so much flavour. The slaw was amazing! Who knew their pickled cabbage would taste so good in a burger? Their Cali sauce is amazing! The guy even gave me all their sauces to try out was awesome ! Super generous. The trio was like 26$ but I swear the portion sizes are extremely filling and definitely worth the price if you ask me! I recommend this place whole heartedly! Cheers!

Every time I've eaten incredibly tasty chicken from Poulet Syriana. It's hard to describe the taste but I'll try my best: moist inside, tangy, savory and roasted flavours on the skin and outside. The fries are perfectly fried (crispy outside, soft and fluffy inside) and the garlic sauce is to DIE FOR. It's actually and honestly so good. I've also eaten fried chicken but their grilled/broasted chicken is my absolute favourite. One time they ran out and I was pretty sad, but it gave me the chance to try their pita sandwich(also delicious). It's one of those places where they don't have a lot of menu items but you KNOW it's going to be amazing because of it. Service: always prompt and always so sweet. They're very friendly! I picked up a meal during the covid situation and they were clean and efficient. The decor of you're sitting inside their little in mall restaurant is super cute. Located in the heart of Old Port, this small joint offers a simple menu of bbq meats and sides. There is only beef ribs, porc ribs, pulled pork, brisket and smoked chicken, served with your choice of mac and cheese, coleslaw and baked beans. There are no appetizers and no deserts - however there is a cocktail and drinks menu. I do find it odd that the food menu is not posted on the website, nor on their social media. I saw some outdated photos of the menu other customers posted. The only place to see a physical menu is on the outside of the restaurant itself, otherwise once seated, there is nothing printed and the server will be the one to talk through the options. My partner and I opted for the beef ribs (there is an extra $7 for this option), pork ribs and smoked chicken. The meats were all very tender but lacked flavor - as if there was not enough seasoning or sauce. We had sides of mac and cheese and coleslaw. The food was very good, but not amazing and expensive for around $40 a person to start with plus the surchage for beef ribs. Cocktails were around $17. Very pricy dinner, for this, I expected larger portions. I found the Texas bbq experience to be lacking despite the website claiming this is Texas style. They surely do not serve American sized portions. I am a slim female with a healthy appetite and was disappointed in the lack of food, especially for the sides. There are maybe 3 or 4 bites of coleslaw or mac and cheese in each serving, yet these are the cheapest foods I don't understand why they couldn't be more generous. The time it took to prepare the food and serve us was also puzzling. We arrived when the restaurant just opened and were among the first to order yet waited probably a good half hour or more before our food arrived. The meats are all cooked in advance and I suspect the sides were as well - as we overheard a server mentioning the food is smoked in St-Eustache which is North, outside the island of Montreal. There are no smokers on site at this restaurant. I am glad I tried this place as there is a shortage of good BBQ within Montreal - however due to the portion size, slow service, price and location I would not come back. Unfortunately there is no parking nearby so be ready to pay upwards of $25-$30 for a paid parking lot, or take public transit if you can.
