The places where dreams are made of...until you look at the prices. Not cheap by any standards for…read morethe clothes/accessories however surprisingly the home decor items aren't too bad, especially considering that they are pretty unique. Located in the Shops of Don Mills, this store is well laid out with space to move and well categorized - clothes in the front with a petite section (yes!), home decor in the middle and bedroom/linens in the back. There is a small area way in the back that houses their sale items and you can find some pretty decent things in here. But even at the sale prices it's sometimes still above my budget. The home decor items is the real reason I come in - i love how upscale and classy they look, even when they have fun and whimsical patterns going on. Everything from plates to mugs to glasses to serving utensils to drawer knobs and hooks can be found here. They had a beautiful coloured glass cake platter that i wanted but it was sold out when I checked recently :( Everything is so lovely that you will never want to put them away in cabinets because you want everyone to see you gold edged serving spoon and fork set (swooooooon). They also carry fragrances and makeup and candles and items like journals and pens and jewelry. I actually really love their jewelry and maybe one day I will be able to afford it but I just can't justify the prices for it. If you need a great hostess gift or a lovely present that you know will be unique definitely check out their home decor stuff. Sadly a girl with a Forever 21 budget shopping here will always be disappointed but one can still dream

I don't know if I am too young or too old when I was browsing around Anthropologie…read more Maybe I am really out of it! But gee I don't really find anything that I want to try on remotely... and I did not even look at their prices. Personally I find that the clothings looks much better on their website in the photos than when I actually see the real thing! The housewares sections are interesting as they have nice things for the kitchen maybe some of my friends would have like some of those for house warming gift.

I REALLY like this store. Then again, I'm kind of a snob for clothing. The only thing I wish they'd…read morehave, is more items NOT made in China. Nevertheless, you can find gorgeous Smythe coats and jackets here (also found at Holt Renfrew) which are made in Canada, as well as other beautiful pieces in simple cuts and pretty colours. I find them a slight bit pushy and overeager to sell... although they backed off once they realized I was not responding to their cooing about how perfect the items looked on me. You can also find some wonderful cashmere in here, but I prefer buying cashmere scarves from White & Warren online (best quality cashmere for the price, I have ever found, even compared to the uber expensive Cashmere Shop in super pricey Yorkville), and I prefer buying my cashmere sweaters secondhand ... because they're expensive.

I was wandering down Yonge St, and the cute clothes in the window caught my eye…read more HOWEVER, the atmosphere inside definitely does not match the beautiful displays. The products were nice enough, but overpriced in my opinion.  But the main problem was the service! After not even being greeted or assisted in any way for several minutes (and it's not a large shop - they could see me, but chose to ignore me and to keep conversing between them).  When I finally asked a question about sizing in a top, I was very brusquely brushed off. This happened again, until one of the employees suggested a different top (that was about 3x the price).  When I made a comment about it being out of my price range, she looked me up and down and condescendingly told me that maybe the items were not my style. (Yes, I was wearing yoga pants and a sweater - I don't dress up for walking around).  I told her that I found her comment extremely rude, and walked out. I can accept a higher price for something if the service is great.  But people that rude do not deserve anyone's business.

Aside from the…read morefact that the boutique owner being one of the sweetest, warmest persons I've ever met, Boutique La Villa is one of the rare women's clothing boutiques where fashion meets art, style and great taste. Even if I am not going to buy anything, just stopping by to look at the paintings in the store, talk to the boutique owner Belcem, sorting through the shop gives me joy. It's one of the few places where you can buy unique, quality items that you are not likely to see at elsewhere or on another person, as most of the items you can find in this treasure place is based on the theme of "wearable art". So if you are an art-fan and have a unique style, you can be sure to find something for yourself here. Other than wearable art, the Dolcezza series, the boutique owner, Belcem, also carries Desigual items, a Spanish brand whose products I generally love. She also carries lovely, unique stuff from Turkey as well. The boutique is owned by a lovely mother and daughter duo, and though yes, the items sold may be a bit more pricier than mainstream big chains, big brands which are everywhere, one also shouldn't forget that this is a boutique, and items sold here are also unique, almost impossible to find or see any similar stuff elsewhere.
