So...about a week ago I came in here to get a freshened up, very simple undercut. No fade just a 1 all the way around and about an inch or so off the top....now let me tell you...this has to be the absolute worst haircut I have EVER received and that's no exaggeration. I've given it a full week to maybe "calm down" or find a way to style it that works enough NOT to wear a hat. And a hat is just about my only option until it grows out and I can go to a TRUE barber shop. The woman even told me that she's only "filling in" for someone and that her normal job was at Cool Cuts...Now if I wanted a cut from Cool Cuts, I WOULD'VE GONE TO COOL CUTS. It's a bit deceiving to go to a "BarberShop" in hopes of getting a true Barber Shop feel, cut and sense of professionalism and be told that they shouldn't even be there, act nervous about cutting your hair then feeling good about letting me leave the shop with a completely BOTCHED hair cut. Now a standard undercut/slick back should be shorter in the back and longer in the front....this woman did THE EXACT OPPOSITE. The front of my hair is at least a full half inch shorter so when I slick it back or forward it just looks awkward as hell and I literally have no choice but to continue wearing a hat. $30 for this?? To continue wearing my hat and feeling this way?? Nah...Stay Far Away And go check out a real barber shop. I saw Ken this past weekend for a pretty drastic change. I've had dozens of compliments on the new style. It was the first time I've gone to a barbershop for a women's cut, but he did an awesome job and I'd trust him with any service. I've been telling all my friends to go see him since I got my cut. He's extremely professional and courteous. As for cleanliness and safety during these times, Ken did a great job sanitizing and I felt very comfortable and safe as no one else was allowed in the shop and masks must be worn at all times. It's hard to come across a barber shop with someone as meticulous as Alma and. I've paid much more for services that come nowhere as close as hers. She has everything down with clean symmetrical lines and doesn't rush you at all. Both me and my nephew always get fades and we couldn't agree more that Alma is one of the best we've had cut our hair. She goes all the way to skin, which isn't something most salons (talking about YOU Supercuts) or some barbers do. Unfortunately, Alma is leaving soon so take advantage of the short time she has left and get a cut! It doesn't seem to get that busy on the weekdays but I can't say the same for weekends. On 7/19 I brought my two grown sons in for a haircut. No idea who the grouchy man was that cut their hair. I went to Safeway, came back,picked up one son and asked the barber about how much longer. That's because I live close by, I could drop off groceries. If he said two minutes I would of stayed. He said 10 min. I guess after I left he said if people want fast haircuts they need to go to a fast haircut place. Made my son uncomfortable. What??!! Nothing about a fast haircut. I called and told him when I asked how long it had nothing to do with a fast haircut. His comment was "okay". Will never go there again. read more

Not the worst haircut I've ever had but far from the best. The woman working was nice and the only employee there. She was finishing up with another customer as I walked in, so there was virtually no wait. She seemed like she was in a rush for whatever reason. So much so, that she almost forgot to cover me with the cape before she started. Then about 5 minutes later she was done cutting my hair...at first glance everything seemed good, so I paid the $20 for the cut and left. Only as I was driving away, I noticed that the blending was not done very well and there were a couple of spots in the back that were not trimmed. These spots were just about a half inch longer then the area around them. My usual cut is a number 1 on the sides with a high fade and finger length on top. Simple style to execute. I feel that if more time and care were put in then the cut would have been better. This place is under the control of Cool Cuts which is in the same shopping center.( There is a sign that says "Make checks payable to Cool Cuts.") In which I also had a poor experience there. I wanted to try a barbershop after years of going to places like Great Clips. Due to it's proximity to my home and partially to my own laziness I chose this place over other higher rated and recommend barbershop. Sorry but I'll be trying some place else next time. read more

I went in for a haircut but decided to do a beard trim as well. I think the previous staff left as the person that cut my hair was an entitled millenial, someone I had not seen before- however he was very pleasant and open to discussion. However I now wonder if he talked less, and spent more focus on the work being done, if I would have come away with a different experience. I was jabbed at least a half a dozen times with the scissors and clippers, and didn't realize just how bad the haircut and trim were until I got home and looked in the mirror. The haircut was not bad, however it was uneven and left a lot more length in some spots in certain areas. The beard trim was terrible- DO-NOT-RISK-IT brothers.... cut away almost 1/4" too far over one side of my lip, and completely messed up the length and cut on the goatee- I can only assume he messed up on shaving the neck and cut into the beard, then tried to blend it in where it was hard to tell. I had been growing it for 5 years, and it was so bad I went and got another haircut... and they had to trim the beard all the way down to a #2 to fix. No bueno- wish I had caught it while I was there.... I no longer have a beard and miss it terriblly already. read more

My son and I arrived at 4:40pm for a quick cut for my son. Usually takes 15 minutes or less. There were two barbers working. They said that that they could not accommodate my son as they were too close to closing, yet their posted hours are until 5:30pm. I will never bother with this place ever again and will discommend it to all my friends!! Congratulations barber! You could have worked to the end of your shift and had two new customers for years. Wow, if you want an old fashion barbershop feel, this is the place. I've been taking my son here since he was 2. He got his first hair cut from Norm (the owner). He has this seat for children right out of the 50's and he uses clippers that are quiet. My son was scared of getting his hair cut but Norm has a set of clippers that are very quiet and he is so gentle with the little ones. He is a true Barber. He cuts the young and the old, men and women. Even my 21 year old nephew goes there! I highly recommend Norm. FYI: He does give short hair cuts but they always look nice. Also, don't talk politics with Norm, like all older people they have their opinions and have for many years and no one is going to change the way they think. Talk about the weather! :-) The cost for a hair cut is NOT expensive at all, it is generally $20. He takes cash and I think checks but no credit cards. The Barber Shop is located on the side and back of the St. Francis Center across from the Dry Cleaners and next to the UPS Store. There is available parking back there so you don't have to park in the front at Safeway. read more

Not much to relate - I was in a hurry and was worried about being late for work- the Barber, did a great job of getting me in and out of the chair in just 15 minutes. Shauna and Toni are the greatest! Both are excellent barbers, I kid you not. This is not a cool cuts kind of place, but a real barber shop. I go there and no where else in Santa Rosa. And where else can you find a barber who not only cuts hair but also shaves your neck and around your ears with shaving cream and a straight razor! You really get your money's worth with them. Norm gave me a great trim today. He has consistently cut my hair anytime I am in Santa Rosa for the past 3-4 years and he cuts all of my brothers' hair. A very traditional guy who boasts about how "beauticians" are not trained to cut hair and that only the "real barbers" have the poles outside their shop. He is very professional and serious about his trade and has never failed to give me a great cut. If you tell him what you are looking for/not looking for he is able to nail it each time. I came here at the recommendation of a friend with the intentions of cleaning up my lines with a fresh fade and was a bit disappointed with the results. The barber I was referred to didn't seem to be there but I stayed anyway which was probably the first mistake as the one who was working seemed to be struggling with some personal issues. My lines were left dirty and I couldn't notice much fade. After the fact I was informed that the recommended barber had moved to a shop in Petaluma. I think owner of this business cut my hair yesterday (older gentleman whitish hair)... I've gotten my hair cut here twice, the first time was 'okay', but very pricey. I decided to give it another chance since I live close by. So yesterday this guy ruined a very easy haircut, basically a flat-top. I've got a patch of hair on the back of my head that is MUCH shorter than the rest, and I've got all sorts of random patches of hair that are different lengths. I've resorted to giving myself a buzz cut at home today, it's embarrassing. Before buzzing my own head after this $20 + tip mistake. I stopped by and asked him for a refund after I showed him his mistakes. He absolutely refused, but offered to buzz his botched haircut... I do NOT recommend using his services. For the price you could buy a Flowbie and do just as good of a job in your garage. read more

My partner and I took his 91 year old father to St Francis Barber Shop today for a long delayed haircut. The day before we'd gone in to be sure they were OK with the task. Kelsey was there at the time, and she said yes, by all means. She'd be happy to cut his hair in the barber's chair, in his wheelchair, or out in the parking lot! Kelsey would not be in today but she left a note for her colleague, Shannon, who was ready for us when we came in this morning. It was wonderful! First and foremost, Shannon did a great job on his hair. He looked terrific! But more than that, Shannon was just a lot of fun. We all laughed, and I took pictures of Shannon and my partner's dad as if it were his first haircut at a young age. We'll be back again and again for his haircuts. read more
