I was just here for a funeral, but the church community and pastor were so welcoming. Which church to attend is a very personal preference, but Woburn has a great Catholic community with this small but very nice church.

The husband/wife pastor team are a young, energetic couple who have truly embraced the community they lead. The music was passionate and genuine and the people were very friendly. I was amazed at how long the people hung out after the service just to talk and get to know each other. The atmosphere was very low pressure and relaxed. Hello. I would like to share a story recently. Quite frankly ai was shocked at the behavior of a…read moremale parishioner. We were at the clothes closet this past Saturday and a purse broke through the plastic bag. A large tote purse so that was put in the car. As we were getting some clothes this male parishioner went up to my husband and said this is your third bag. Now we donate lots of clothes to the church over the past ten years. Recycling is terrific. However I feel that is no parishioners place to say such words to people. They are not his belongings. Nor should he cover them in anyway. They are gifts by the parishioners and others. This could have been potentially humiliating to another individual. No one knows the circumstances people have. And is most ungodly to covet gifts given in charity by others. It just so happened we brought two bags of donations that day and I myself assisted in putting our numerous pairs of shoes. The male parishioner did apologize after he was taken up verbally on the matter. I would hope the church would address this behavior at Sunday worship to remind the workers not to verbally accuse others of unbefitting behavior. I had worked for a local homeless agency in the next town for over ten years and we would never approach a person if we thought they had to much. It wasn't our place. Even morally. We gave out what we had until it was gone. A good reminder is that these are gifts meant for people and to take what they need. It is not a state agency with criteria and restriction. Nor in anyway a place where prior lists for things are needed and paperwork filled out and approved. It a church of giving and the good Lord gives without any scoldings. For shame on this individual.

The pastors are kind, compassionate, and inspiring. I've felt more fellowship here in just a few short months than I ever did in my former church, which I had been a part of for my entire life. This is a non-denominational Christian church focused first and foremost on Christ and you will feel that the moment you come to a service or event. My parent's were married here…read more One of my sister's was married here. I don't know how to review a church. I'm not a religious man. But this place has sentimental value to me. I have been to masses here once or twice these past few years. They're fine. I guess. I do like the style of this place. Has the old stained glass brick and mortar feel to it. Plus they re-painted it a couple years ago. Looks awesome inside now. Pristine. If you enjoy going to Catholic mass, you could do worse than go here to have your soul saved!!!

The clergy are welcoming to all. The clergy obviously take their job of preaching very seriously and the sermons are usually inspiring and often challenging ... two things a sermon should be! The atmosphere is one of inclusion and welcome and not exclusion and judgment. The religious education program has well over 1000 students. The youth programs, led by a dynamic youth minister are very well attended with hundreds of teens on the membership list. The elementary school is a real gem with teachers who have been there for decades! Get there early if you want a seat ... especially at the 10am Mass. A full church is a sign that they're doing something right!

I read the other review about the priest here not being friendly. The problem is not that he's…read moreunfriendly, but that he seems to be angry ... a lot. And judgmental! Also, I don't "get it" when these younger priests (he appears to be under 40) prance around in cassocks and those funny looking hats with the pom poms (can't think of the name of them). I thought the reforms of Vat 2 did away with all that "finery." I'm sure he "means well," but Father, chill, will ya with the ecclesiastical drag. And it's not the local pastor's fault, but what is it with this new translation of the Mass? I'm sure the sentence structure was fine in Latin, but in English is awkward at best and not understandable at its worst. I see it as a sign of the creeping exlusionary policies of the RC church. We sing "All are Welcome," but we mean "Some, but not All, are Welcome." We used to be regular attendees at St. Mary's back in the 80's and 90's, (my wife and I both went to the school through 8th grade) but we started going to the Paulist Center in Boston when St. Mary's took a 180 degree turn in 1997 back to the 19th century. We go to St. Mary's when we cannot get into Boston or we go to the Unitarian meeting house a few steps away where we know we are not going to get a political barage about contraception and same sex marriage, but will be accepted where we are.
