False advertising. Website talks about standing beds and all beds being included in the membership. When I showed up for tanning, I was told they didn't have standing beds available unless I wanted to pay more for a higher level bed. 2 falsehoods on their website within my first 5 minutes of experience with this company. The girl at the front desk says she's just following the rules and fees on her computer. Not a good start with this company Zoom tan. I'll be canceling as soon as my first month is up. I'm sorry I did not heed the advice of many of the other reviewers. However, I wanted a quick spray tan before a Caribbean vacation and this location was very convenient for me. This St. Croix location has only one booth for spray tanning. There was one attendant on duty. After she gave me a quick run through, she brought me to the room and said that when I was ready all I need do is push the flashing green light. After stripping down and getting into the booth, I pushed the flashing green light - nothing happened. Tried a few more times, again nothing. I noticed a call button on the wall. I tried this several times and got no response. I saw a robe(wrap-around with no tie) and put this on and went out to find the attendant. When told my problem she said that her equipment showed that it went on. She said that she would reset it, but if it did not work, "I don't know what to tell you". I asked her about the call button and she said "truthfully it doesn't work". I went back and the booth worked to some extent. It went through the first "pass through" and then instructed me to push the flashing green button for the second pass through. Again, nothing. Frustrated, I now got dressed and sought out the attendant. She said, "oh,that's just moisturizer, you got the tan". I said that wasn't satisfactory and how did I know what I got. She tried the machine a few times and said, "you're right. It doesn't seem to work". After fiddling with it for a while, she got it to work. She then said -"it looks like you have to cover the whole button with your hand". Now, how would anyone know this when the instructions said "Push lightly - once." When I said I did not want to get all undressed again, the attendant shrugged her shoulders and said "Sorry about that". From my one experience with this establishment, I am led to believe that the equipment is not maintained and the staff is ill equipped to handle corrections or customer relations. Just signed up for a club membership yesterday. Gonna tan more often ;) They provide the sticker eye wears free of charge, with them I can avoid leaving tanning lines around my eyes. read more

Staff is very dismissive and unwilling to help when any issues with membership arise. I attempted to switch from spray tan to UV tan to prepare for vacation. The girl let me tan the day I switched, I came back another day they told me that the UV was not active yet and would not allow me to UV tan unless I paid for an individual session. Not sure why it couldn't be activated right away as this is what I needed...membership was cancelled found a place with cheaper prices and better staff. read more

I write this having just returned furious, yet again, from St. Croix Tan. What an awful place. St. Croix Tan is extremely close to my apartment. Therefore, I've been going there on and off for three years. Most times I go, I end up leaving and thinking "WHY DID I GIVE THESE HORRIBLE PEOPLE MY BUSINESS YET AGAIN?!" Needless to say, I'm moving in a few weeks, so that's given me a great excuse to never go there again. Let me list some of the reasons why this place is horrendous: 1) They once changed the bulbs without telling me. I went in for 7 minutes (in a bed with a 20 minute maximum time) and literally could not sit down the next two days because I was so badly burned. Thank god I only went in for 7 minutes, because if I stayed in any longer, there is no doubt in my mind that I would have ended up in the hospital. I mean, I ended up blistering because of this burn. I went back the next day and told the person working that the manager should really have the employees advise people if the bulbs have been changed so people know not to stay in so long. She looked at me like I had three heads, and then asked me how long i was going to be going in for at that point. I was the color of a beet. Come on, chicka, I'm OBVIOUSLY not getting into a tanning bed again. This did happen over a year ago, however, so whether or not they warn people now, I have no idea. If they do, you can all thank me...perhaps I made a point! 2) I then switched to mystic tanning. My bill was messed up numerous times. I don't know why. To this day, I don't know why. BUT, despite my requests for clarification, none of the employees were able to help me. The manager was never available and, when I asked if they could leave her a message and have her call me, I never gota response. 3) Just went to use up my final mystic tan in my package, as I've decided to start going to Miami Sun, which is MUCH better. I waited 40 minutes to mystic tan. There was no one ahead of me. They obviously forgot I was sitting there. When I went to the counter to ask how much longer I would have to wait, I was snidely informed "there was someone in there that just took a long time, it'll be ready soon." No apology, and then within 25 seconds, I was able to go in. Me thinks you forgot about me, you rude rude girl. YOU COULD HAVE AT LEAST SAID YOU WERE SORRY! They earned that one star for the fact that it's clean. That's it. That's the only redeeming quality of this place. read more

Very unpleasant experience, have been a customer for years, was treated poorly and name called by one of the managers, will never go back, I am losing money as I have prepaid for sessions that I will not be using. Staff do not know basic customer service or how to speak to and appropriately treat customers. Very disappointed to say the least. read more

The girls try to be nice which is why I gave 2 stars but operationally this place stinks. My mistake for not reading the fine print before signing a silly tanning contract. Today I walk in to cancel my contract and they say I've had a balance on my account since January, so "technically" I can't tan or cancel until it's paid. I've tanned dozens of times since January. And to top it all off she tells me I can still tan as much as I want this month since I'm paid up. Wait a minute girlie? Can I tan or can't I? So now I have to wait 4 days for a manager to be at the salon so I can go back and sign a cancellation contract. And hope I don't owe a balance. I've indoor tanned for 15 years and have never seen it run like this. Somewhat careless staff. Don't bother calling, no one will pick up. Not worth the hassle. There has to be a better tanning salon in Albany. read more

Clean, friendly staff, towels and jolly rancher provided, and never a wait. I have been tanning at this location for 8 years. The prices are reasonable, and the bulbs are great. They actually keep up on them so you always get good color. I've tried a few other places and no where else do I get the color that I have. They also run specials every so often and if you are an EZ-Pay member occasionally you'll get free upgrades in a level above the one you pay for! This is the tanning place to be :) read more

So, I've been tanning for years, at several tanning locations, and at several gyms. I never been to St croix before, but being they were a pricier establishment I wanted to give them a shot. I've boughton lotions twice there before, but never tanned. One thing is they are very pushy on up selling the most expensive lotions. I recently purchased a 70 dollar lotion at another establishment so I didn't need a whole bottle. I just needed a packet. She still showed me all of the bottles and pushed me to purchase and was hovering over me while I looked at the packets. This has happened to me every time I've been to st croix. They dont give you any space and even when you say you'll let them know if you need help, they still bother you. Next, the beds. The employee walked me over to all the different levels to show me what they looked like and everything. I chose to tan in the level 1 bed. The room was clean, and they do offer you a little candy and towel which was nice, but the beds looked very old and were so tight I wasn't comfortable closing it all of the way.. and I'm a small girl. I can't imagine what someone of size would feel being pressed against the glasses. Over all, I think I'm going to continue tanning at my gym. The beds/stand ups are much newer, and more comfortable. You don't get that little candy but I can bring that myself.. lol. To me, not worth the money and the upselling is a no go. I've bought 30 dollar lotions up to 150 dollar lotions. And not to mention the packets are over priced. My packet was 14 dollars. She was upselling me the 18 dollar one... I had no privacy to check the prices so I could have an affordable packet being I had a whole bottle at home. Will not be going back. Save your money. read more

I was not happy with them and wouldn't recommend them. They have idiots working for them including their manager. Last year when I finished tanning I called to cancel my membership and the employee said it was all set this year I went to go sign up again and they told me I had to pay the 62 dollars that was owed from last year before i can sign up this year since my membership wasn't cancelled properly. I told her I called and cancelled and she you need to do it in person for it to work. I was not happy and no one should go here, next time I will be changing my vent fitness membership instead since they also have tanning for the same price. read more

Spent $38.00 last sunday for one week unlimited tanning. I selected the tanning bed and the girl put me in for 15 minutes on level 4. I questioned whether or not that would be too long. She said I would be fine. I was not. The whole back side of my body was severly burned. i could not go back until today, while portions of my body are still burned and others are blistered or peeling i wanted to get at least one more tan in for my money. I explained to the girl at the desk what had happened after she tried to put me in the bed for 15 minutes on level 4 again. while she certainly sympathized with me and pretended she was not the one who suggested this length of time and power level the first time, She did inform me that my package expitred on Saturday (yesterday). She also told me I should wait longer to heal before tanning again after I showed her my burns. I walked away feeling less that satisfied with the lack of any attempt to comphensate. read more
