I truly trust this place to give honest care and not try to make extra or push other procedures on me. When they were gone for a week during spring break I had a tooth pain and went to a diff place since Grace was closed. By the time I saw this other location, my symptoms were better but they had recommended a crown anyways. This seemed odd so I scheduled with Dr Stedola-because I trust her- and she agreed that seemed too aggressive and had put together a much more conservative, practical plan. I appreciated that! I spent about an hour at the appointment and ultimately left without receiving any cleaning at all. After the initial exam, I was told I would need a deep cleaning instead of a standard cleaning, and that I needed to schedule a different day. When I asked if I could just proceed with a basic cleaning as I had waited a few weeks for this appointment, I was told they could do one if I "signed a waiver", after agreeing to this she changed her mind and said she "ethically" couldn't do a basic cleaning on me. To give more context, I am in early stages of perio as most people are when they age. I have no bone loss, and the majority of my "pockets" are in the 2s and 3s with some molars in the 4s and 5s. I am not categorized as someone that desperately needs dental work by far. I've had four cavities my entire life, and was told I had none at this appointment as well. I can't help but think this was somehow a money grab. The staff member was polite and professional throughout, but to be told that without agreeing to a much more expensive treatment, I wouldn't receive any cleaning at all was so strange. I wound up later being quoted about $1500 for the cleaning she said I needed. I understand wanting to provide appropriate care, but I would have appreciated clearer communication ahead of time and more flexibility in options as not everyone has dental insurance or $1500 laying around for basic dental care. I also want to mention that I was surprised to learn this clinic is part of a larger corporate group. It presents itself like a local, standalone practice, so I didn't realize the connection until the day before my appointment when they called to say I had been to one of their other locations previously and therefore didn't qualify for the new patient pricing. That part was fine, but it felt misleading since the other clinic has a completely different name and is in another city. I had no idea the two were connected--especially since I hadn't had a great experience at that prior location--so that added to the overall frustration.

It's our fault we had to cancel, but their hours are limited and not very compatible with school or work hours.

I had requested multiple times to note "no fluoride treatment" on my chart as my insurance doesn't cover it and every single time for a cleaning they tried to gather payment for the treatment I declined. The Park accounting system forces my wife to be listed as a dependent under my name. Park can't/won't provide her with her own account. 2. During a routine exam, the dentist offered to smooth out a small front tooth "chip" - which only took about 2 minutes. My wife was unexpectedly billed over $100 out of pocket. 3. Again, during a routine 6 mo. exam, my Hygienist told me I was due for Bite wing x-rays. I told her that I thought it was too soon but she insisted I was due. My insurance didn't pay (they cover 18 mo. interval) and was billed $85.00 out of pocket. 4. We objected to all 3 issues above both in person and in phone calls with no satisfaction - not even apology or compromise (i.e. splitting the difference) Each time, an offer was made to have the office manager "get back to us". This manager is non-responsive. Don't hold your breath!!! Looking for a new dental provider.

When I started going in the fall of '21, it was called Filson Gentle Dentistry. Dr Filson was retiring and Dr. Jensen took over the practice. It's located on cute main street in Bayport, lots of parking on the street. I have to preface my review as I'm crazy about my oral health and have only needed cleanings, exams and X-rays. I have been to at least 3 different hygienists and had great experiences. I ask them to use the ultrasonic vs the scraping tool which helps ease my anxiety with a dental visit. They also clean my night guard each time I have a cleaning. BONUS! Everyone is friendly and nice! Can't go wrong with trying them out. Also definitely call ahead to see what insurance companies they are contracted with so there are no surprises.
